Sparrow

Location: Toronto, Ontario, USA

When I first met Sparrow, he was about five weeks old and weighed less than a can of soda. Here, he’s about twelve weeks old. His ears are enormous! His name comes his love affair with singing – Sparrow has a song for everything! He sings before entering the potty, and then again after leaving it. He sings before and after meals; he sings when he has jumped up to a particularly high place! And best of all, at night, after we turn out the lights, Sparrow wanders around the house, singing a good night song: “Goodnight mousies and toys. Goodnight food dish. Goodnight doggie. Goodnight brother Dustykitty and sister Zoekitty. Goodnight Mom and Dad!” The singing lasts for about fifteen minutes, and then he comes in to the bedroom to snuggle in bed with us and his two sibs. Sparrow is magical; his joy in the simple things of a cat’s life is totally infectious! When he sleeps, he has this look of sheer joy on his face… he’s our little singing boycat love.
