Lola
Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, USA

This is Lola, she is the big sister of the August 18 Daily Kitten, Virgil. This is from almost 10 years ago, when she was only about three months old. We weren’t sure if she was a kitten or some kind of mouse/alien hybrid. But she was cute either way.

She’s so pretty I love her eyes
She’s got little lick-marks on her side! I love those, so cute!
Mouse Fuzz, Lola you are sweet!!!
She’s so cute an fuzzy! It’s good to know she’s enjoying a good life with her family.
Yeah, *what*?! FUZZ
Don’t you dare sing that song FUZZ!
I am not a mouse FUZZ!!
Which one?! L-O-L-A Lola! Lo lo lo Lola! or the classic “Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl!” LOL
It is funny you say that – I do sing Copacobana to her all the time! And she likes it! It makes me wonder if she really was a showgirl in a previous life
I was thinking of the lololololo-la one.
I hope she’s still going strong after 10 years!
Bed hair.
Oh, Lola – you are no mouse/alien hybrid! You are far too beautiful to be related in any way to a mouse. And just look how you washed and fixed your fur for your portrait!!! You are stunning.
Hey, wasn’t there a song about you, because you are so pretty?
“Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl…..”
Another kitty that looks like a painting. Her hair and the shading on her face look like brush strokes. Lola is very pretty.
I think Lola is just beautiful the way she is! She does have that “just finished” washing look my girls get sometimes! Hope you are still going strong girl!
She is a lovely little lady!
Hey Lola, come on over to Bolingbrook and visit my kitties. Lola is a real beauty.
Hi all, I am Lola’s mom. Thanks for all the nice comments – and she is still doing very well even at 10 years old. And that bed head look stuck with her for about her first 6 months – now she is very sleek but as a kitten she had permanent bed head! She is a great cat, and puts up with her 3 brothers very well, although now with Virgil she is sad to not be the youngest. She is also very sweet but quite possibly the laziest cat I have ever met – which she probably learned from me! Although her laziness makes her very tolerant – when she sleeps by you and you need to move her she doesn’tc complain one bit! She just waits and once she is in her new spot she settles in there – I haven’t seen anything like it before – all my other cats (now and growing up) would always complain and leave in a huff when you needed to move them. She is also one of the gassiest cats ever born – we always know who to blame in our house.
I forgot to add that in our house, alien/mouse hybrid isn’t really a bad thing – we are big alien and mouse fans here. Even if she really had been one we would love her just as much!
sounds like she has the PURRfect home!
Thanks for telling us about your adorable kitty! Cats rule and yours sounds really great!!!
Lola is gorgeous, I love her coat! not mousey at all, I’d love to see the ‘after’ picture
Wonderful story about her–it isn’t often the parent of the Daily Kitten checks in with details–thank you! Of course she has the tortie attitude! Many more happy healthy years with your queen.
Lola has that “I am ready to snuggle, please lay down and get comfy” look in her eyes. I love that she’s so ardent and patient in her snuggling.
Aw, she still is cute. What a honey.
Of course she’s cute!
