Doing happy dance, I got the pounce! I got the pounce! And WHAT a pounce I got! Look at those babies! I want to snorgle them all! Many hugs to each of you!
This picture was taken on the day I brought them home at 5 weeks old. We didn’t catch the feral mum and they were pretty scared of me. They’re 8 weeks old now, the most affectionate kittens I’ve ever been around. They go to their new homes next week; Crackle is going to a home that already has a 12 week old kitten to play with, and Snap and Pop are going together to another home.
The only downside is that one of my adult cats is going to spend a few days looking for them and pining because he’s been acting surrogate Mum for the last while!
But at least the two people taking them are colleagues so I will be able to hear about their progress and see photos as they grow up!
I would have kept them all myself if I didn’t already have 5 cats, 2 ferrets and a puppy in the house. I’m due to be getting kitty number 6 in a couple of weeks – she’s around a year old, brain damaged and deaf and incredibly affectionate; she’ll fit right in!
What sweet looking kittens, and such a happy/sad sweet story. I’d have trouble parting with them too. But I’m glad things are going to work out for all of them. And extra hugs to mr surrogate mum!
Oh, the extraordinary fluffiness and abounds. Love the story about your male cat being a surrogate mom. I had a male parakeet do the same to a batch of babies. The mom would have to pull him out of the nest by his tail when he went to feed them. By the time they were out of the nest, he didn’t have even one tail feather left!
Helanna and her cat are kitten angels for raising this precious kaboodle. I love how they are photographed on a Rice-Krispie-box- blue blankie! They are too adorable.
Bless you! We were right about there being 2 more, and glad to see them, they are so cute, and happy they are going to good homes. And for taking in a “special needs” kitty when you have a full crew already, you will be Blessed with unconditional love.
