Shanti
Location: Sewell, New Jersey, USA

My name is Shanti which mean “peace” in India. I was found in Ithaca, NY with my four other siblings. We were all dumped on a dark highway where there were homes with farms. I guess the dumper thought we would take to our new surroundings… but, we were dazed and confused and my siblings would not go to my rescuers. I was scared and stiff and couldn’t run away. I wanted a warm place to live. My new mommies took me to the B&B where they were staying, where I was feed warm soy milk and food. Then they took me in their car to my new home in NJ, where I torture the other cats!!! Oh, I am having the time of my life. I really miss my siblings and hope that they are doing as well as me.

This cat is nice and pounce means that a cat is not pritty
I’m so sorry to hear about your siblings and hope they got rescued too. At least you have a good home and are safe. I have a former stray too and she refuses to go outside again. Being inside is so much better isn’t it?
poor little thing! I am speechless that anyone would dump kittens next to a highway, in the dark and cold; but I am also delighted you saved this poor little sweetie. I hope the others made it to some kind of safety, or their suffering ended quickly at least. sigh
Shanti, you look so scared in this photo. I’m glad to hear you are feeling secure now & have settled into your new loving home. Sounds like you have great mommies who are taking wonderful care of you. Love & kisses.
Oh, she did have a shower and actually didn’t mind it. I put her pose on my facebook and someone wrote to place her on here, She is soooo cute and not scared at all. I have a nice picture of her, but do not know how to show you all! OH, wait, maybe I can update my profile with a picture
Okay, here she is all clean and shinny… she is so sweet!!!
okay, I am trying one more time to add my image… see if this works… this is Shanti if it works!!
Yea, it finally worked. Thank you all for your wonderful comments!!!
Peace to you Shanti…you look like you need
some TLC but it probably was the camera’s fault ’cause it sure sounds like your new home if full of TLC!
Looks a little someone just had a bath or similar, huh? Cute little messy-haired kitty.
I’m sure your new owner (bless her heart!) has put a much happier expression on your face by now. You were a lucky kitty!
Oh Shanti is aborable, I just hope her siblings found a home as good as her new home. Give Shanti a big hug and kiss for me.
Frankie & Buddie say shame on those people for dumping you out like trash!!!Grrrr!!! May you be blessed for saving this little babydoll!!!
She’s adorable!!! Happy Purring!!!
Perhaps she is affecting an au courant ‘spike doo’.
Blessings on your mommies, Shanti. Horrors of your frightful early beginnings. I’m so glad you were rescued and are thriving. May God have mercy on those who dumped you, for I have none in my heart for them.
Shanti, you are a doll and your mommies love you very much!!!
There is a very hot place waiting for those who dumped you and your siblings. Enjoy your new home because you deserve it. To your humans, thank you for saving this beautiful baby.
Shanti….is precious.
I agree with you, oscarsmom!
It looks like Shanti was just given a bath (with water … horrible) and she hasn’t had the chance to groom herself yet. You be good to your family, little one.
The highwayman came riding, riding, riding FUZZ.
Peace be with you FUZZ
Smile, Shanti, You are safe now. Enjoy your new home and don’t torture the other cats !!!
Sweet Shanti, you had an awfully hard start in your little life, but thank goodness you now have a safe and loving home. I wish that your siblings hadn’t been so frightened but I am hoping that somehow they have found a home, too.
You look awfully tiny to be a cat torturer, but I’ll bet that you are really feisty. As well as adorable!
What a great survival story!
Shanti, you are very cute, and I hope your siblings are okay.
Another lucky kitten who found a forever home! How sweet you look!! I hope your siblings also found their forever homes. How horrible of that naughty human to dump all of you like that!
Awwweee, what a sweet story I hope the siblings were just as lucky as Shanti!
Such a sad little face after having a bath. So sorry about her siblings, Bless you for taking her in.
Cute fuzzer kitty!
Aw. I’m so sorry about your rough past kitty, but I’m glad you got found.

Very depressing story. Yes we know people torture and abandon animals, and we know some can’t be saved. I don’t come to this site to be reminded of it.
What a wonderful rescue story for Shanty.
Oh Shanti, my heart is breaking for your siblings. I hope they are well. God bless your mommie for keeping you and giving you such a good home. I love your funny look.
