Clovis & Raquel
Location: Hilton, New York, USA

We lost two senior kitties in two months earlier this year. We lasted 5 days with no cats in the house and couldn’t stand it any longer, so we visited the KAT shelter in Hilton, NY. We couldn’t decide whether to adopt adult cats or kittens, so decided to think about it and return when the shelter opened again the following weekend. Two hours later, friends showed up at our door with a beautiful little black kitten that had been dumped off at a farm. We named her Raquel, after her rescuer Rachel. Since her litter mates were not available, we went back to the KAT shelter and adoped Clovis, the orange tiger male. The two kittens bonded immediately and have been a delightful addition to our home. They are sweet natured and loving and we think their predecessors would approve.

Hail, King Clovis!
Pounce X’s 2 for newbies from Hilton!
What precious contrasting kittens! So adorable!! Bless you for adopting them, and for getting two at once to grow up together. I hope you all are very happy!!
Those are Halloween color kitties! How wonderful they bonded so quickly. It sure looks in this picture like they love each other very much. I love how Clovis is hugging his sister
May you have many many happy years with these two new additions.
I love your Halloween kitten colour scheme! What little sweeties, kudos to you for rescuing not just one, but two – and what terrific names..smooches to both Raquel and Clovis
Awww, these two are so sweet!
What a cute pair. Hooray for all cat adopters! It’s great they’ve bonded so quickly. They must feel loved and safe to relax like that. I hope you have many years together.
They’ve become each others extended family! I love when kitties snuggle with each other. There’s nothing like a kitten or puppy pile.

They both look very sweet. I would be like you, I couldn’t stand it with no kitties in the house.
Oh boy, must be the NY State air! We are now in Fla and have and orangie and a tuxie. Your kits are beauties. Both of ours we saved too. They are the best buds. Long lives to your kits with you!!!
Incredible Story — enjoy those babies they are so precious. A HOUSE is not at HOME without kitties.
Oh my goodness – I really did a double take when I saw this picture of Raquel and Clovis, who are too adorable! Years ago we adopted two kitties from the animal shelter in Farmington, NM. One tiny black girl and a beautiful orangie boy. Their names were Bombalurina and Skimbleshanks. They were the most precious kitties and were with us for 18 years. They loved to cuddle just like this when they were little.
May Raquel and Clovis bring you many, many years of happiness!
2 are always better than 1. How wonderful of you to save both these precious babies.
5 days with no cats?! I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. And thanks to Raquel and Clovis agreeing to live with you.
I am so sorry for your loss. It’s hard enough to lose one, let alone two so close together. These two are beautiful. Thank you for giving them a home. Many happy years together.
Oh sweet kitteh loves. They are purrfect together. You are like me, when my elderly cat passed away I thought, I will do without for awhile. A stray adopted me about a week later. And that was that.
Aaawwwweeee, that is the sweetest picture, sorry for your loss of your senoir kitties.
But Im really really happy you got these two, how adorable are they!
Awwww! “I will protect you” fuzz.
It’s awesome how open to everything little kittens are. They don’t go “other cat! bad!” they go “oooh, a friend!” LOL
They look like my kitties. Except the orange one is a classic tabby, and the other one is grey, and they’re nowhere near the same size. But they do sleep like that, with the orange tabby always sleeping on top (silly boy!).
They look so content and happy together. I love this picture, thank you for sharing their story.
I love it when kittens snuggle together! So sweet!
Hello Raquel and Clovis! You both are very adorable! Love the picture, it is so cute!! Thank you for sharing them with us!
Wishing you much happiness with your beautiful new pair!
You are a true cat person—-you loved your senior kitties so much you couldn’t stay catless for long. Bless you for saving these two cuties and many happy years together!
What a lovely pair to find this Thursday. Bless You for rescuing both of them and bringing them together. No one would ever know they aren’t really brother and sister. Many happy years to you! Thanks for sharing them with us!
What a great picture to go with a wonderful story! Wishing you many years of joy.
You can see how sweet they are in the picture. God bless you for first going to a shelter to adopt new babies! I especially like Clovis but I love orange kitties. I am so happy things worked out for you as I know how traumatic losing four legged children can be. Many, many happy, loving, and purr-fect years together. Give them both a hug from me. My birthday was yesterday and my hubby let me adopt a petite stray calico kitty I call Betsy. I have been feeding her for several months and love her so much. We both got lucky with our new kids. Take care!
=^..^=
Thank you everyone for your kind words. We are thrilled to see our new kittens on The Daily Kitten today. Clovis and Raquel send purrs to you all. God Bless!
I have an orange one like that . The orange boys are the best .
