Panini & Gelato

This is a picture of our “babies” on the day we brought them home. They were ten weeks old. I like how they look like and upside down heart. We had been toying with the idea of adopting a couple of kittens for some time, but just couldn’t bring ourselves to do it again after losing our elder “baby” of twelve years. The turning point came in the hospital emergency room when our daughter, who fell down a hill at a nearby lake and shattered both bones in her lower right leg (hence, our visit to the emergency room), in a quiet, semi-drugged voice, told us that two kittens would help her feel a lot better. That got a laugh out of the doc, the nurse, and, well, both my husband and I. Once my daughter was out of her wheelchair and way more mobile, we took her and my son to adopt our kitties. We had been in contact with a local agency called Katmom and they matched us with these perfect little babies. It was love at first sight, immediate and overwhelming. It has been a year and we love them more now than ever.
