Luna & Comet
Location: Altoona, Wisconsin, USA

Luna and Comet came into the shelter along with their brothers Orbit and Sonic as part of our TNR program. They have been in my foster home since they came into the shelter at four weeks old. Orbit and Sonic have been adopted, but Luna and Comet are now five months old, have been recently altered and are more than ready to go to their furrever home.

Yeeehaw!
Sweet lil kitties……hope they go together!
I don’t think these two will be around for long, they are adorable! So pretty, and cool names, too
T.G.I.F. with two cutie patooties/The Darling Duo from Altoona as TDK’s special Stars!
What a great pair of Friday kittens! They are sure to enrich their furrever homes when they find them.
Too, too cute. These two would make an excellent addition to any home.
What an adorable pair! I hope they found their homes by the time they were posted on TDK. Winter is coming and they’ll need to snuggle up with a warm human body.
I want! I live in Marshfield, WI and would love to get them, but I am afraid my 14-year-old Ashton would not be happy with babies.
My 15 year old Scratch glares at her fur-brothers, but they keep her company when I am at work. She instigates chases around the house too.
When Brought Comet and Luna home they were 4 weeks old, and there were four kittens total, now Comet is the only one who hasn’t found a home and is now five months old and neutered. He is also used to cranky kitties who don’t like other kitties. So please consider adopting him or let someone who might be looking for a playful yet sweet kitty know about Comet. Thanks.
I have asked Kitten Master how to get in touch with you. Maybe we could get together so I could get Comet. I would love to have a little orange tabby boy!
The best way to get ahold of me would be by email at volkpamela@gmail.com.There is an overnight waiting period once you put in an application, so even if you are not sure it’s agood idea to fill it ASAP.The application once approved is good for six months on any animal in the building. An online application is available at eccha.org. Hope this info helps.
OMG, this pair is too cute for words. Reminds me of my Tansey and her brofur Basil. She’s a dilute tortie and he was a massive orange boy. Love the combination. I sure hope they get adopted together into a loving home.
What darling babies. Give them snuggles, woozles and kisses for me please!
So sweet!!! Luna looks like she is doing the doggie head-tilt.
What cuties!
Ohhhhhh….Luna and Comet are sooooo cute!! They look wonderfully healthy and very ready to go to a furever home. I think it’s wonderful that you’re giving them such a great start in preparation for life. Well done!

They are adorable and they look like they’re saying “please pick us”. I hope they get adopted together, soon.
These two dudes are darling….I hope they get adopted together!
AWWWeeeeeeee soooooo cute!!
Adorable babies.. I hope they go home together!
May the Diva of kitties shine her Light on these two and find them loving homes. I’m sure you’ve done a wonderful job being their foster mom. Thank you for helping these darlings.
Hello Luna and Comet! You both are very adorable!! Good luck on finding a home!!
I love these cute babies!!!
Luna looks like my girl Petunia so I automatically love her. And as for Comet . . . I love him too just because he’s a tabby.
Awww… Luna and Comet are adorable, I am sure they will find someone to love them very much and give them a good furever home.
Bless you for sheltering homeless kittens! These two are certainly pretty kittens. Luna looks half between a calico and tortoiseshell. As for Comet, wish he could put himself on a trajectory for Oregon as I love orange tommies (and every other color too for that matter). Its just that the range boys have a certain charm and character. Sure hope they find great furrever homes soon! Thank you for sharing them with us.
I should have read the earlier posts. I’m glad Luna has found a home. Now I really wish Comet could come to Oregon. He must be a pretty mellow fellow to get along so well with cranky kitties. It proves my point about orange tommies. Somebody is going to luck out when they adopt him. Snuggle him for me and tell him he has a definite admirer.
The dark kitty in the photo looks unappreciated, my guess. Hope they both find adoring people.
? I have a kitten question : If I can’t coax a local wild kitten from the bushes to be petted, placed in a carrier for home – if I can’t get the wee one to come close enough to be petted, then would live-trapping a wild kitten ruin its response to people?
I’ve bee struggling with this for three weeks since a kitten first called me from the shrubbery. I’ve been putting chow plus water in the bushes daily but, only today for the first time, kitten came to a clearing (within the bushes) to permit me to see him/her. Thrill of the week, actually of the month (October). Clearly the kitten is cautious with me.
Anyway I’ve live-trapped kittens in my own yard before but I had Veterinary sedative and of course private shelter at hand to gradually socialize them. I used sedative only the first day, and I’m still not sure whether the disorientation this undoubtedly caused helped or hindered their adjustment. It took several weeks after capture before they came out from behind the bathtub (clawfoot, vintage).
My question about this new situation is, what will happen when, at some point I will have to pick up the kitten and place him/her in a carrier for transport by car to shelter? I don’t live nearby, must carry by auto. I think the carrier and car trip will be extremely alienating to the kitten even if I’ve managed to build some trust. Then if I bring him/her home and foster for a bit, my cats might attack and sour his/her attitude. I am wondering, if anyone else can share experience of this? I don’t want to spoil his/her attitude toward people or toward strange cats. Both of my cats are mature to around 1.5 to 2 years now and both are blind in one eye. But the male sometimes gets the female in a jugular choke hold that concerns me, it would kill a kitten and almost throttles the grown female. In case you’re wondering, it is not an attempt to mate, they are both altered and show no reproductive interests. They just fight sometimes and play other times; they are more or less evenly matched and compatible, however to a small kitten, they could be lethal. Thanks for any input!
If you’re willing to spend the time to socialise this wee kitten, then I would definitely live trap him/her and then keep him/her with you until he is socialised as a shelter may not have the resources to do it. (You could ring them and ask.) I would also separate him/her into a large cage, at least for the first few days (makes them easier to handle) and in a different room from your other cats. If eventually you do introduce them, do it very gradually and always supervised. Good luck. I trapped and socialised two feral kittens, it can be done.
what a cute pair of kitties! I wish I had room in my little house for two more sweeties. Best of luck Luna and Comet!!!
Hi Kitten Master, How do I get in touch with the owner of this kitty? I am thinking of adopting Comet.
Hi Peg, i reported your comment to KM saying you want to adopt, so hopefully he will read it. Good Luck!
Thanks!
Luna looks just like Moonshadow did at that age. Strange how they both have “moon” type names. Luna and Comet look so sweet.
