Polar Bear
Location: Los Angeles, California, USA

We found Pear Bear (called such because he was so tiny & as we fed him he started to look like a furry little pear) all alone, squirming around on our driveway when he couldn’t have been more than a day old. His mama brought him to our house then abandoned him. He was probably the runt, but he’s quite the little trooper. We weren’t sure we were ready for another cat (we’ve already got two!) but we fell in love with our new little baby the moment we saw him.

Murray
Location: Portland, Oregon, USA

Murray’s mom and six brothers and sisters were found dumped on the side of the road. They were very lucky to have a very kind family take them in and get them fattened up and nursed back to health. They are currently living with Foster Mom until they can find permanent homes.

Oliver
Location: Rochester, New York, New York

This is our new baby girl, Oliver. We named her Oliver (after Oliver Twist) before we knew she was a she, and the name has stuck. My niece found her outside when she was about 3-4 days old, abandoned by her mama. We’re guessing she was the runt, as no other kittens were found. She’s been a lot of work, but it’s worth it when we hear her purr after she eats. Ollie has won the hearts of everyone in the house and we hope to have her with us for many years to come.

Xiaoguai and Xiaotaoyan
Location: Yantai, Shandong, China

I was walking around town when I saw a small crowd of people around a box. I always want to know what’s going on. The box had a note saying that the mother of these kittens had died and they had no one to take care of them. Their eyes had just barely opened! Imagine the first thing you see in life being four walls of a cardboard box with lots of people looking down at you, instead of your mother! I picked up the box without hesitation. It’s been a joy nursing them back to health, and I look forward to many years with my wonderful little blessings!

Bullet Bob & Sassy May
Location: Powder Springs, Georgia, USA

This is our precious brother & sister pair, Bullet Bob (bob-tail/orange & white) and his calico sister, Sassy May. We adopted them from our vet’s kitten rescue. They were abandoned on our vet’s doorstep and we were fortunate enough to be selected to raise and adopt them. Since all our kids are grown and moved away, we spend our time loving these sweet fur-babies….

Dustin & Jonathan
Location: Paducah, Kentucky, USA

Dustin and Jonathan were found while I was searching for a friend’s lost dog. I was looking in brambles for signs of the dog when I heard two little voices screaming for help. In sort order these two little brothers popped out from the blackberry canes. Unfortunately we found two of their littermates nearby who had already crossed the bridge. I estimate they are 3-4 weeks old and they both have hearty appetites and loud voices. I and a few friends will keep them fed, warm, happy and healthy until they are old enough to go to their furrever home.

Digger (Dookie)
Location: Ontario, Canada

We rescued Digger’s Mother Pearlie and her litter of six kittens from a hole used by a gopher in a farmers field approximately five years ago. They were filthy dirty but very healthy little three week old kittens. Pearlie was an excellent Mommy to her babies. All the kittens (except one) were adopted and Pearlie was too. We had just lost our 11 month old Misty to cancer and that is when my hubby and I decided to keep Digger as our own… he was such a loving little guy and got along wonderfully with my other cats. As the years past by and throughout all my fostering of kittens, Digger was always his usual loving self to all our little foster babies! Digger, or Dookie as I call him, loves to be picked up and carried around. He purrs his heart out and wraps his paws around my neck and gives me hugs while I carry him… he is quite the character and we love him dearly.
