Petey
Location: Boston, Massachusetts, USA

This is Petey just after we adopted him in June 2010. The shelter said he’d been abandoned by his previous owner for reasons unknown. Petey is a very intelligent cat, and spends his time carrying hair elastics in his mouth while perfecting long-distance jumping from the counter to the kitchen table. He also munches on lettuce and carrot sticks as he watches us prepare meals

Suave FUZZ
How much is that FUZZ in the window?
I encountered the same situation a number of years ago. Some irresponsible person abandoned a tuxedo cat in my apartment complex. We got to be friends – sometimes he would stay in, other times he liked to go out. One day he disappeared. It was hypothisized that he had been taken in by an animal horder who was raided by the animal control authority. I am full of regret to this day. He wanted to stay in that day, but the complex management was inspecting and I did not have a cat permit. I vowed never to let that happen again. I now am the primary care giver to three quasi-ferals. And I don’t know how many come to snack at night. I am so sorry Little Friend.
I suppose I am just as irresponsible as the first person who abandoned Little Friend.
Hello Petey! Awww!! Cute kitty!! A cat that actually likes veggies? Wow!!
O, so sad, and yet, you did what you could. One can’t foresee consequences. You tried!
Such amazing citron-diamond eyes. Petey is a very handsome cat. How nice that he likes to snack on lettuce and carrot sticks as you fix noms!
Please don’t feel bad Batooz. You honor Little Friend everytime you feed or show kindness to those quasi-ferals. We’re human and we can’t know what tomorrow may hold.
My cat is obsessed with hair elastics too! (I flick them at him and he catches them like a soccer goalie.) Petey is very handsome.
Lucky you, lUcky Petey! what a handsome fella he is!
