This little girl was making a lot of noise high up in the barn at the Sedgefield Horse Showgronds. Of course, this got the attention of a bunch of little girls that were showing their horses that weekend. So out of their concern, I climbed up into the loft of the barn and found this 4-5 week old kitten crying in a muck bucket. She was a fighter, hissing at first and standing her ground. Once hoisted down to a throng of oohing and awing girls, she quickly calmed down. This picture was taken just after she ate some Gerber’s chicken and rice baby food. She was quickly adopted to one of the visiting stables that wanted a new barn cat. I’m sure she will have a long and happy life patrolling her new barn for mice.

Sedgefield … such a big name for a little, bitty kitty, but it sounds like she’s got plenty of ‘catitude’ to fit that new name. What a beautiful baby she is … and what a cute pinky tongue. I hope she enjoys many happy years of love, attention and fun with her new barn buddies.
What a little sweetie. I hope we hear more about Sedgefield, her life could make a great children’s book. Love the wee tongue.
What a cutie-pie! Happy hunting little Sedgefield. Lots o snuggles!
Huh? You hope she gets spayed? Sorry CaM, but is that the best you could come up with for wee little Sedgefield?
That is one of the cutest stories and cutest kittens and cutest pictures of a kitten I’ve ever seen!! Thank you for rescuing!
Sedgefield is so cute, I’m glad she found a new home. Happy Hunting Sedgie!
What a wee calico cutie! Thank you for rescuing her. I agree with CaM, hopefully she’ll be spayed – she’ll enjoy a life of hunting mice and hopefully being appreciated by her new humans.
What a great story! Best of luck to little Sedgefield.
Awww, da Baby! Good luck to her!
I agree with CaM. Barn cats sometimes are forgotten and not neutered. Having this cute kitten spayed is one of the best things her rescuers could do for little Sedgefield.
CaM’s comment was most appropriate and caring.
Go Sedgefield! So small and already employed. There’s spirit of enterprise for you!
Spaying her will give her a longer, better quality life. She deserves it, as does every cat.
You are stronger than me. I would have had to keep her for myself.
