Gilly

This is my sweet new calico Persian kitten Gilly (named after Kristen Wiig’s Saturday Night Live character who is always up to mischief). She was a rescue from Winging Cat Rescue, Inc. in Griffin, GA where a wonderful foster mother nursed her and her sister back to health following a life-threatening bacterial infection. In addition to being the cutest kitten I have ever seen, she is also the most energetic. She chases her big brothers around the house constantly, runs ahead of them down the stairs every morning, and buries her head in their food bowls. And, despite receiving over fifty new toy balls and catnip mice over the holidays, Gilly somehow manages to bat every last one underneath appliances and furniture. A typical day in my house has me lying flat on my stomach using a long stick to retrieve these toys so she can lose them all over again within a few hours. She is an absolute delight to have around, and has filled my heart with so much joy. Even my two older boy cats seem to like her. Kissing her full belly while she purrs and nods off to sleep is the highlight of my day, while the highlight for Gilly is probably when I lift up the comforter and make a tent of it for her to climb underneath into and “camp out”. That pretty much sets her little purr motor going non-stop.
