    Aslan

Aslan and three siblings first appeared in the woods behind my apartment complex around the beginning of the year. He (or she — I haven’t been able to catch the kittens yet to check) is the bravest of the four — and the biggest eater!

Aslan is quite the adorable poofball of a kitten! Love that deep grey color too.

This little cutie sure looks healthy for a wild kitty. I hope they all allow themselves to be caught & cared for soon.

Wow! What a beautiful kitty. That has to be a male, based on the size of him. Aslan must be one terrific hunter to be that well-fed. Either that or he’s been calling the pizza delivery guy too much!

He (she?) is very well-fed (who needs a pizza guy when you have a gullible human nearby :) ), but he also has a lot of fur. He is also the only one of the kittens I can catch right now. I’m not sure whether I should catch him or keep him around to serve as a role model for the other kittens. I don’t know whether they will be more likely to trust me if they see him trusting me.

Love the pic – sort of half way between a black kitten on a dark night and a white kitten in a snowstorm (smile).

Bless you for feeding these wee ones! See if you can contact a feral cat organization in your area to borrow a trap to catch these cuties as it is too dangerous to leave them out on their own. The longer they are in the wild the harder it will be to tame them. I wonder where Mama Kitty is? Aslan is surely a beautiful kitten. Simply stunning. I love this face and fur.

Don’t contact animal control. Contact either a rescue group or SPCA and ask to borrow a have A Heart Trap. You can also buy them at Home Depot. If you put a can of wet food in the trap and set it they will do the work for you but keep monitoring the trap. We are in for some cold weather in a couple of days so hopefully you won’t waste any time.

Poor little things, Aslan and his sibs should be beloved pets, not sad and cold strays. I hope you can get a local cat rescue group to trap them and get them into foster homes soon. Good luck! :-)

Awwwww, how beautiful. Love her/his silky grey fur. Looks like he/she has short legs!! Probably because of the chubbiness and the long fur. Catch him and make him yours!!!! Good luck!

He looks like a little gray wolf. If you go to the “Alley Cat Allies” website they will show you how to build a shelter from a styrofoam cooler–it will keep them warm. Good luck and God Bless for helping to feed them!

Oh, Mama Cat is around. In fact, she’s tamer than the kittens. I didn’t mean to be misleading. I may have submitted the picture before I realized who was mama to these babies.

I hope you can catch mama cat and all the kittens and get them to a non-kill shelter. Maybe Aslan, who trusts you so dearly, would make you a wonderful, warm companion??

If there is one rule to taming ferals it is PATIENCE! Unfortunately if the weather doesn’t cooperate, you may have to seek the assistance of a rescue group to trap them. Good luck, Aslan is worth the work!

What a beautiful cat! I’m glad that you are looking after the kitties. As mentioned above, Alley Cat Allies (ACA) is a great resource for feline cat caretakers. They can survive as an outdoor colony, but they must be spay/neutered and then returned outside. This is called TNR. ACA are the experts in guiding you through this process. Please contact them about taking care of these beautiful cats. Being a colony caretaker is rewarding! Good luck to you!

    Hi Cats4cats,

My daughter runs two Feral Soup Kitchens and is also a foster mom for bottle-fed kittens at the Rifle Animal Shelter (western slope of the Rockies). She’s already adopted five rescue kitties and is always losing her heart to her foster babies. My friends and I have adopted some of her wards and are always networking potential kitty owners for her.

I think it’s wonderful that you’re trying to take care of these darlings. Bless you for your big, squishy heart. What would these babies do without you?
