Mao
Location: Santa Rosa, California, USA

We rescued this little angel from a house that was hoarding tens, if not, hundreds of cats. She was on the brink of dying; she was infested with fleas and severely malnourished. With a little patience and A TON OF LOVE she was nursed back to health, and has grown into a healthy, happy, and frisky five month old kitten!! We think she may be a Lynx Point Siamese mixed with some Ragdoll. Everyone that meets her has fallen in love with her crystal clear blue eyes, adorable button-nosed face, and spunky personality. The most unique thing about her is that when we go to scratch her back, she flattens her fluffy tail onto her back, and over our hands. It is the cutest darn thing you ever saw!! We still cannot believe we found such a treasure for a pet and companion out of such a bleak situation. We hope you like our little Mao!!

Pounce! Love the little “Chairman”! What a cutey….and very cuddly looking too!
Mao is truly a beautiful kitten! Love the ear fur tufts and that beautiful smile!
You certianly found a tresure there.
Beautiful.
Thanks for rescuing her. She’s very happy to have found you. I wish you many happy years together.
Thank you for doing the hard work (and no doubt going to an expense, with vet visits, medication, special food…) of saving this wonderful wee being. I hope all the cats and kittens who could be saved were rescued as well.
Often people who hoard animals have some kind of serious mental disturbance; it is a somewhat different problem from ill-treatment by puppy and kitten mills. I’m glad someone was aware of the problem and able to take action to save this beautiful girl and other cats and kittens.
Mao is a beautiful girl. Thank you for rescuing her. I’m not too far from you; I’m in Marin. Many years of happiness to all!
Chairman Meow!!

Did you name her Mao because she has a lot to say? She seems to be giving us an earful of her beautiful chatter. Mao is gorgeous and I’m happy she has a caring furever family. Many happy warm fuzzies and tail fluffing, back scratchings together.
OMG, you certainly did get a treasure. I love your story, can sure tell there is a lot of love in it.
“Like” her??? No, LOVE her! That red mouth is adorable!
Mao is the “cat’s meow” and then some! What a beautiful charming feline lady she is. Bless you for saving this wee wonder not to mention all the care and love you have and continue to give her. Mooches to Mao many times over. This is truly one of the prettiest cats to grace TDK! Give her some snuggles and petting for me.
Listen to me FUZZ!
You scratch my back FUZZ….
Bless you for rescuing the beautiful Ms. Mao. Hopefully the other cats have been removed from that irresponsible household?
You said Mao might be part Lynx Point Siamese. If she has any Siamese at all, she will always have something to tell you, and she won’t be shy about voicing her opinions and demands! May you enjoy many healthy, talkative, fun and purr-full years together.
What an adorable little girl! She’s saying, “Put down that silly camera and pet me already!”
Thank you for rescuing her, cleaning her up and giving her a loving furever home. May you have many happy years together.
Mao is just wonderful. Love her tufty ears and very furocious expression! Bless you for your intervention into her little life. May you have years of happiness together.
YAAAAA for Mao, she looks very happy!
Lucky you and lucky her!
What a darling! Lucky both of you!
I love that picture, her little personality just shines right through! Thank you for saving her, I am sure she will repay you with many happy years of cuddles and purrs
You certainly don’t seem to have needed directives from a “Little Red Book” or anything else, you instinctively know how to care for and love this super-cute opinionated kitty!
I love little Mao!
Mao really is a treasure, and a talkative one too! Enjoy!
Chairwoman Mao is in da house! OMGawd! She is the one of the most adorable kitties I have ever seen!
What a great find! A lump of coal, which thanks to you and your loving heart became a beautiful diamond!
Mao is a cutie, as are all those that the kittenmasters post. I believe all those that post here have never seen a kitten that they couldn’t find loveable. I have to say though that since the subject of hoarding has come up, that although the conditions that it brings about are both awful and not good, too often the cause are situations where someone cares deeply about the animals that need help, but just tries to take on more than they are capable of. We can help by assuming more responsibility by sponsoring just one more whenever possible, and if providing a loving home isn’t possible, spay and nueter,or at the very least, contribute to an organization that does! Off my soapbox now, everyone have a happy and prosperous New Year !
Awwww. She seems to be saying, “Love me? Love me! Now!”. And yes, little girl, I will.
She is a beauty! Her eyes are gorgeous and bless you for rescuing her. I agree that people mean well and get carried away or become metally ill. Too bad the animals must suffer.
They need to make animal hoarding a felony. Little Mao was so blessed the day she met you. God bless you for saving her.
Mao is so so cute that little cutie! is she in the sandbox?
