Shalmaneezer V
Location: St. Helens, Oregon, USA

Shally was abandoned by his mom in my back yard only a few hours after he was born. I saw this little fur bundle in the middle of my yard and really thought he was dead. After a few hours of no movement and no attention from the neighborhood feral cat colony I went out to bury him. What a surprise when I realized that he was still alive.
I took care of him from then on and he is now a strong and healthy eight week old kitten. My parents are going to take him in to their cat family as I already have four. I’m glad because I am so attached to Shally right now that I don’t think I could give him up if I wouldn’t see him often.
He was named by my father. They just lost a beloved cat in January who was name Tigglethpleazer III. He was name after an ancient Assyrian prince. As this kitten is the next in succession, Dad thought it was fitting that we name him Shalmaneezer V as that is who succeeded Tigglethpleazer. Whoever thought naming cats would give you a history lesson in ancient Assyrian history!

Pounce on Shally!
Greetings from Salem, OR! So happy that Shally was still alive and that you were able to lovingly raise him as you did. I take my hat off to anybody that can hand raise an hours old kitten as you did with this wee wonder. Such a cute little fella. So sorry about your parents’ loss of Tig III, yet am happy he will have a loving and secure home with your parents where you can see him. Cheers!
Shally is lucky he was in your back yard! Praises and cheers for raising a newborn kitty!
Thank you for rescuing and raising this beautiful baby! Shally is a miracle baby!
Shall-he bring joy to your family? Shally will do just that and he is a beautiful kitty.
I love the thought your father gives to naming his kittens. The saying goes, “in ancient times cats were treated like royalty and the cats have never forgotten that.” The cat’s wish is your father’s command

Thanks for saving him. I’m sure he’s very happy living with your parents.
Bottle fed furbabies are the hardest to give up and Shally is soo cute! Thank you for rescuing this little guy. Prince Shalmaneezer V will reign with a soft paw for many years to come. Happy Caterday!
Thank you for rescuing Shalmaneezer V – he is quite a handsome boy, deserving of such a distinguishing name!
What a cutie Shally is. I am glad you rescued him as well & hope he has a long, healthy, & happy life with your parents.
The Fifth FUZZ
The Reports of FUZZ’s death have been greatly exaggerated.
He is an adorable cow kitty!
You are his angel! Thank you so much for rescuing!
My furkids & I wish you & your furkids many happy, healthy years!
Well done you saving this tiny prince of a kitten! He’s just as cute as can be, how wonderful he has stayed in your family so you can visit often. Please give him many cuddles and treats from me
What a handsome and lovable kitten! Yes, believe it or not, I heard of these ancient princes when I took a course in Old Testament for my Master’s in theology. So your dear kitten is well named.
OOhh my what a face!! PRECIOUS!
I am so happy that Shally was alive when you found him. I have often asked God to only let me find critters that are alive and I can help (my heart couldn’t take it any other way). That was a huge blessing for both of you! Love your family for being open to adopting this little sweetie.
Alacazam…little kit is alive & has turned into your furry prince Shalmanezeer V our handsome Star-kit today at TDK!
He was meant to live, it’s obvious. Thank you for giving him that chance.
