Some friends of ours live near an abandoned lot. One day in June they spotted a little kitten emerge from the tall grass. To their surprise, they were able to pick her up and take her inside, without a fight. They gave her a bowl of cat food, which she eagerly chowed down. Unfortunately they had a two cat limit on their apartment, so they gave her to us. Because they had told me that she was a brown male, I was surprised when a little torti kitten arrived at our door. She let out a scared meow but quickly settled down in my lap and started purring. She knew she had a good thing going. We got her spayed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas.

A few months passed, and we tried to find her a home, but that failed, so we decided to keep her. But then we realized that we would probably be moving soon and it would be difficult to find an apartment that allowed 4 cats! Plus our older cat Bella was not too fond of the furry intruder. So, as of December 2012, she is looking for a forever home. Contact Ellen at cutehomelesskitten AT gmail DOT com if you are in the Philadelphia area and can give her a forever home!
