Piton
Location: Johnstown, Colorado, USA

Piton and her litter mate, Pixel, were the featured kittens on 9 December 2008. Today, 27 Feb, I had to have Piton euthanized due to multiple organ failure. This picture was taken when she was about six weeks old. She loved to burrow into my husband’s wheelchair back pack and take a nap. I caught her peeking out on one of those occasions. My husband labeled this picture HitchHiker Piton. She would have been 16 on April Fools Day.

Smudge
Location: Littleton, Colorado, USA

Smudge was the Daily Kitten on August 20. Here is his baby and ten month (almost) photo. He has grown into the floofiest kitty, full of the dickens and very affectionate. Smudge loves to sit on top my face, the first thing in the morning when I must make a slight movement – but am not totally conscious. I burst out laughing under all the fur, unable to see and barely breath. It must be his way of being an alarm clock. He still doesn’t meow, just squeaks.

Myrrh the Purr
Location: Indiana, USA

Meeting Myrrh was the only time I have experienced Love at First Sight. His feral Mama brought him to the feeding station next door where I found him sleeping in a white wicker rocking chair. Besides his astonishingly mighty purrpurr, the biggest things on him were his ears and feet – which he never quite grew into.
His soul was immense as well. He was friendly to all other cats and delighted in playing musical chairs with any human who stood up for a moment. He would grieve himself hoarse if I left for more than 2 days. Although the smallest, he was the Supreme Mouser among my four felines. He never met a stranger and was completely confident of his charm. His mighty purr could be heard from a distance of six feet! He liked to lay on his back, purr, and stroke my face with his paw, and he slept in my armpit every night. His fur was like silk.
Myrrh died of Lymphoma around the time of his 8th birthday, May 2012. I still miss him very much, and have had to learn to use the bathroom alone. For his last trick, he taught me to pick him up whenever he raised his left paw just so. I still have three wonderful kittys, but Purry Myrrhy was The Man.

Albert “Barry” Whiskers
Location: Lawndale, California, USA

So my fiance and my mother-in-law’s cat, Kenoki, ended up pregnant at eight months old, and had four beautiful little boys fathered by my mother-in-law’s other cat, Cheeto “Ozzy”. Unfortunately, two died after a month and one got adopted by the vet we took him to. But one — and boy did he grow to be a big’un! — we kept after begging for two weeks to my fiance. I love him to death, he is my giant boy and all he does is tear my legs up, licks his paw then cuddles up to me.

Grace
Location: Peoria, Arizona, USA

Grace wandered into my neighbor’s garage one day and being a dog person, he came over and informed us that he had a small cat in a box in his house. We went over and found this ten week old grey kittie who appeared not to be afraid of anything. In fact, she was as “slick” as they come-hence Grace Slick. She has now become one of seven rescues in our home and fits in with the others purrfectly.

Makenna
Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA

In December of 2011 Makenna was the Daily Kitten. I wanted to show everyone the beautiful Little Lady she’s grown into.

Shrieky
Location: Port Chester, New York, USA

A man came into work with a basket of kittens. I told him that if he would get the mom spayed, I would find homes for the four babies. He complied, and I found three good homes for the others, and kept Shriek for myself.
