Location: Johnstown, Colorado, USA
Piton and her litter mate, Pixel, were the featured kittens on 9 December 2008. Today, 27 Feb, I had to have Piton euthanized due to multiple organ failure. This picture was taken when she was about six weeks old. She loved to burrow into my husband’s wheelchair back pack and take a nap. I caught her peeking out on one of those occasions. My husband labeled this picture HitchHiker Piton. She would have been 16 on April Fools Day.

How lucky we are to have them and then we even get pawprints all over our hearts for the rest of our lives . .
Sweet photo and makes me think of my Dad. My kitty would have loved to have gotten into his wheelchair pocket or curled up on his lap.

I am so sorry. It’s so devastating losing our fur buddies. I think the holes left in our hearts make them more beautiful, eventually like fine lace. Piton looked like a charming, sweet, little girl.

I am so sorry for your loss and shed tears and mutual heartache over her passing. Saying goodbye to our pets is never an easy thing. We share our love and homes knowing that they will not be with us forever and our hearts will be broken but the unconditional love that they give us is too dear to resist. It is evident that Piton from her 2 pictures was a whimsical and special fuzz ball. Bless you for giving her a joyful life and knowing when to let go.

Thanks for all your kind comments. Piton did leave her paw prints on my heart! She was a very cuddly affectionate kitty! She had my heart the minute I saw her. She loved to be held and would curl up in the crook of my arm for a nap. She was the one who always insisted very loudly that I hurry up with the canned food. My friend’s who cat sit for me also got the “feed me MEOW”. I pick up her ashes today. I will always have a part of her with me. I still have her sweet sister Pixel and their feline housemate Pipsqueak to keep me company and help heal my broken heart.
Deepest sorrow for you. The only regret to having kitties is that they leave us too soon.
You know, if our pets lived for a hundred years, it still wouldn’t be long enough!!!
