Sounds like fun. Never popped a wheelie before. Have gotten a little wild back in my “hey” day though. Can we meet up with Rainingwolf, remember Oregon is a few miles away and we would have to cross many high rocky mountains.
Your gonna stretch out and take a nap? Let me join you! Mmmmmm this bed is comfy!
The serenading kitty is no longer outside my window…he is inside…waiting for monday when I can take him to the no kill shelter. He is very affectionate and likes getting his belly scritched… lots and lots of head bumps and constant purring.
As for my two cats, Chessie tolerates him, while Stormy wants nothing to do wtih the newcomer. In fact, She Growled at me in a very nasty tone last night… she seems better wtih me this morning though. She is sitting on my computer scanner and nuzzling my left hand as I try and type.
Ted, how wonderful that you had such good news for us this morning. So glad that you were able to rescue the poor fellow and find that he is definitely adoptable. You have a kind heart, and the vibes are in the air for needy cats to find you.
Hope you have a good weekend with the 3 of them. Chessie and Stormy are sweet to tolerate a newby in the house when they have no idea it is temporary.
Nice of you to take in the stray kitty, Ted (aka Greycat). Too bad you can’t keep it. Sounds like it knows you are a good person and is letting you know it wants to stay.
Heh. We still have every cat that we were going to take to the no-kill shelter–all seven of them. After one weekend, we just can’t seem to give them up. Good luck, Ted.
Hi Sox’s mom,
I hope you have a nice Mother’s day and are doing well. I’ll be trying to spend a little time with my mom, and mom-in-law, Sunday.
Happy Mother’s day to everyone!
He ,looks like a smokepuff !
Greycat ,hope the little cat finds a good home ,bless you for caring I did that for many years, I have a large barn on my property and heartless people would just drop off kittens. I was lucky to find good homes for lots of them. No one has done that in a few years I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t start again. Happy weekend to all!
Hi all, Happy weekend! This beautiful baby redefines cute. Rainingwolf, enjoy!
There are additional recalls on Itchmodotcom. This is never going to end.
Thank you for the update on the recalled foods. I have a friend who sells some of the recalled food on this list that they just released. I notified them of the recall.
I tried feeding this brand to my cats a few months ago and they totally refused to eat it. I didn’t force it on them for the fact that I was told that they might like this brand better than what they were currently eating. I mixed it with what they were eating and they would pick out the brand they normally eat and would leave the other on the floor. Since they didn’t like it I just got rid of it and kept feeding them their regular dry food. I guess they knew something that I didn’t. I wonder if the cats could taste something in it that wasn’t right. Thank goodness they didn’t eat it. Oh and by the way, the friend who sells the food had not been notified by the company of the recall yet. Wonder how long it would have taken them to let them know?
Good morning, TDKers. We have a 7-year-old niece visiting with us this weekend. She is having lots of fun with Digit and Furl who aren’t sure what to make of her but are warming up quickly!
what an absolute cutie pie !! Looks like she’s saying… Hi… come nap with me.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I will get to spend time with my Mom.. not sure if I’ll see my kids hopefully so !
Xufa is one relaxed kitty! That’s a real compliment to her person, for creating a home where Xufa feels totally safe.
What happens when you unzip her tummy zipper, I wonder? We have one cat with that sort of sharp crease in his fur, behind his ears and on his chest. I always think it makes him look like a really sharp dresser.
Meanwhile, if you need a laugh (who doesn’t?), this is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a very long time. It concerns a dog, but is very much likeliving with our beloved lunatic kitty, Spike, who is the Alpha teenager among our four Lost Boys:
LiveJournal: I Has a Sweet Potato
(warning: do not read while drinking, you will snort all of it onto your keyboard) http://littera-abactor.livejournal.com/7748.html
Folks, if you think I am beating a dead horse, please forgive me, but I just looked over the last of yesterday’s posts and I can stay silent no longer. It just burns my chaps to see people crying over the thought of having to put down feral kittens and in the same breath being angry over the thought of NOT being allowed to murder a human baby because having one is inconvenient. I DON’T SEE THE DIFFERENCE HERE. FOLKS!!!!
I am a woman, and once upon a time, when I was young and stupid, I was pro-abortion. Sorry folks, but Instinct is dead-on-right, and pal, you may speak for me anytime! I cannot bring it upon myself to condemn a kitten for the circumstances of his birth, neither can I do that to a human baby, nor do I see how anyone with an iota of a human conscience can. It’s simply beyond my comprehension. I’ve known too many good couples who waited over 10 years to adopt a baby without success, then be turned away because they’re now “too old.” The families are there and are willing.
Yes, I know about unwanted pregnancies. If you don’t want a baby, don’t do it. If you do it anyway, use contraception (better if both do that). My husband and I have even spoken about the possibility of a child of rape. Thank God, I have never been attacked and pray that I never do. Even so, we agree that we could never kill an innocent child for the circumstances of his conception. Would we keep and raise the child? Honestly, we couldn’t answer that question, and again, I pray I never have to. Still, we are both solidly in agreement that he would have a chance at life. And for those of you who think I got browbeaten by my husband–I initiated and led that conversation.
We women need to quit whining about what “men don’t give us.” We are strong enough and smart enough to get whatever we feel we deserve without blaming others for what we lack. Respect cannot be demanded; it must be earned.
For those of you who don’t agree with me, I am sorry if I offended you, but I had to speak my piece. I told Instinct long ago I “was covering his six” (in other words, “covering his back” because we agree so often on so many issues), and I felt that I had let him down. At least we can agree on these adorable fuzzbutts, and you are all my friends, regardless.
*gets off soapbox, takes a long drink of ice water, and proceeds with the weekend with a huge burden lifted*
You are right. My husband and I also agree that a child has a right to life, UNLESS it will cause the death of the mother. How sad that people don’t see that it is the same.
Hi Everyone. I just want to say that I have very strong opinions about abortion, and most people tend to have stong opinions. I strongly disagree with some of the people here and find it upsetting enough I may stop reading TDK. I’d hate to do that since most of the time this is a lovely site. Can’t we agree that abortion be a forbiddened topic on this site? PLEASE? Note that I did NOT tell you which side I am on. I am most definitely on a side but it is no one’s business but mine. Now PLEASE let’s go back to admiring adorable kittens and chuckling over crazy ways of kitnapping them!
I couldn’t agree with you more, Joan. Let’s keep topics like abortion to ourselves. This is a site that is suppose to be light and fluffy…aka about kittens, food, advice on taking care of cats, etc.
I have always believed that abortion should not be condoned as an option, especially when used as a form of contraception. To me, abortion is killing innocent voiceless life. Of course I also don’t believe in the death penalty. I cannot control what others believe, and realize that others have different and equally strong opposite views on the subject.
If opposing opinions come from deep soul searching, intelligent informed thought and research then we all have to agree that some topics just don’t have a definitive answer of right and wrong. In such cases I think we must live our beliefs and let others live theirs.
I think we all agree that kittens are cute, there are many wonderful, caring people on TDK, and that we really like each other, and can accept each other’s right to differ. I believe it is good to state a strongly held belief among friends and know you won’t be shunned. Tempers have flared at times because of strong opinions, maybe we should consider handling future opposition like a college debate team.
I have politicians on both sides of my family–I was raised in the art of diplomacy, and I can agree to disagree. After all, we are all joined in our love of the little fuzzbutts.
*extends hand, hoping for a hug, but willing to settle for a handshake*
What if what I want is sovereignty over my own body? What if I do not wish to be told by anybody what I can do with my own womb? I am strong and intelligent enough to have contributed to the fight to secure abortion rights. I believe that I deserve the unconditional right to decide what I can do or not do with my own body.
The issue of pregnancy, wanted or unwanted, is rightfully covered by the issue of privacy. Bodily sovereignty is part and parcel of the “inalienable rights” guaranteed to EVERYONE by the Constitution.
There are some situations in which a woman has taken every precaution against pregnancy and still gets pregnant. If she has acted responsibly, what is she to do? And as I have mentioned here before, I have yet to see anti-abortionist activists adopting any unwanted children. Time to put your money where your ideals are, perhaps?
Do all of you good people at the Daily Kitten know about http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com? With a daily click here, you can help provide food for kitties in animal shelters. Thanks!
I love it when kitties like on their backs like that. It says they utterly and completely trust you. Sylvester has been doing that lately but when I reach for the camera, he moves. Darn. Hope to get a picture of him at some point. I am off to have a nice
VERY cute!
What a CUTIE!
Wonderful pose and a sweet, mischevious face! Love the line down the middle of the tum.
I am sooo with you! That is the most adorable pose, ever. It is an invitation to tummy kisses, if I ever saw one.
What a doll! **since no one is around on the weekend–puts her in the bag on my wheelchair and zooms away! Ha ha ha….snark….***
*Grabs skateboard and rides along, petting the little pinup poser*
Oh no, I have the backpack! In she goes! *hides in the bushes*
This picture is full of character, as is the cat. Good kitty! Rainingwolf, love your cats and their arrival stories.
Grabs Segway scooter, takes off after Rainingwolf, drops Linus in his lap to teach the Xufa how to REALLY be lazy!
No fair, you have wheels, I only have my cane.
If you don’t mind sitting on my lap you can ride with me. We might get wild and pop a few wheelies!
Sounds like fun. Never popped a wheelie before. Have gotten a little wild back in my “hey” day though. Can we meet up with Rainingwolf, remember Oregon is a few miles away and we would have to cross many high rocky mountains.
I’ll just attach the jet pack to the back of my chair - no problem.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Since you two are busy popping wheelies, I will steal my brother’s Porche, while at the same time grabbing Xufa, and putting the pedal to the metal.
Porsce runs out of gas.
I just happen to walk by and grab the mischievous cutie in my brand new backpack. Today I’m going to have the best nap ever!
Darn it, I knew I should have topped off the tank before left. :{
OH OH OH MY! *Hyperventilating* What a cutie pie!
*Lies down to take nap with Xufa!*
Your gonna stretch out and take a nap? Let me join you! Mmmmmm this bed is comfy!

Ted
Greycat,
I hope the new kitty you found, finds a good home. He sounds so sweet. Have a nice weekend.
That is wonderful news. He sounded very insistent about belonging inside. He is very lucky to have found shelter with you and your kits!
Ted, how wonderful that you had such good news for us this morning. So glad that you were able to rescue the poor fellow and find that he is definitely adoptable. You have a kind heart, and the vibes are in the air for needy cats to find you.

That’s great! I hope the lover boy gets a permanent home. Maybe your Stormy would change her mind…
Too sweet! And so flexible!
Have a great weekend everybody!
Amy
Xufa is such a cutie. She makes me want to rub her tummy.
BTW, I thought I’d drop off some apple muffins, this morning.
Oh yum! thanks Renee….

Thanks! I brought lemonade today. I reckon you have coffee too?
She is so cute! Missed everyone the past few days.
Hi Sox’s mom,

Does she still lay like that?
Back stroke FUZZ!

hopefully so !
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I will get to spend time with my Mom.. not sure if I’ll see my kids
What a sweet baby, love the pose. Would love to lean down and kiss her little chin. Xufa could be the poster child for kitty cuteness.
It’s sunny and beautiful here. What a perfect day for gardening or anything outside. Hope everyone has a good day.
Xufa is one relaxed kitty! That’s a real compliment to her person, for creating a home where Xufa feels totally safe.

I wasn’t drinking anything, but I almost choked on my lunch when I got to the end of that one!!! Didn’t really expect that last comment!
Thanks for link, this is great. I can see my dog trying something like that.
*grin*
That is one of my livejournal friends. We know each other through various convention connections and the like. I have always loved their prose.
that is the funniest story i’ve heard about dogs
Little Xufa, not only are you very flat, you look as if you fell from a height. I’m sure you aren’t so flat now
She’s adorable! I’d love to give her a tummy rub!

Totally agree Joan! TDK should be a place to relax and discuss (read about in my case) fluffy topics like kittens (get the pun?) or possibly food.
Just realized I pretty much quoted Karin… Looks like we’re on the same page today. Quite literally.

Funny, wonderful Xufa!
Many thanks, Angela, for the dog site. I have know dogs like this and sent the site on to my daughter, owner of my grandpug.
Oh, Penelope…I have grandpugs, too! My 2 elderly lady cats do not share my affection for them, however.
Xufa is extra-precious! Love the tummy!
This little kitty is too cute for words, how cute is her pose!
Now that is a belly rub waiting to happen! What a cute baby!
So.. freaking.. adorable.
Awww what a little sweetheart, she can curl up with me anytime!
