Toby

Location: Burlington, Vermont, USA

TobyThis is Toby when he was about 3 months old. He loved to sit in the space between the screen and the frame of the window. He was rescued from the streets of NYC and now lives a comfortable life in the country, with his grumpy older brother Oscar. Toby just turned five this month (and weighs 16 lbs now!)

When Jiggs stretches out like that, I want to scritch his belly. He’s a Maine Coon, so as soon as I touch his belly, he curls up and attacks my hand, adding to my many kitty-battle scars. I call him my giant caterpillar when he’s curled up like that. It’s very cute (& kinda painful - what can I say, love outweighs pain!).

We had a flourless choc. cake at the Irish pub we went to yesterday for my birthday.. it was yummy … as was the balsamic chicken with garlic mashed potatos… :) Instinct starts asking the waitress for the recipe to the potatos and she’s like.. um… i don’t know.. as she backs out he happily goes on musing.. “i wonder if they added chicken broth” It was funny :)

While the little village is happily munching, I shlurp the meat off the last bone of my second wild boar, tuck Toby along one arm, pick up my menhir with the other, and quietly walk away into the sunset, nodding to the bard tied up under the tree, and rhubarbing about how the never give ME any magic potion, no matter how good it smells…

Thank you all for the daily distraction of the kitten-napping. I can follow for just so long before I have to retire to the kitchen, fridge and stove and make at least one of the daily cyber-goodies for myself and of course will share with anyone, today it’s Peppermint Brownie Meltaways and Guinness Cake, if I get a turn at kitten-napping. WILL RETURN PROMPTLY, (WELL MAYBE NOT SO PROMPTLY TO THE NEXT IN LINE). I enjoy all the romping around the world.

Enjoy you day and walk in sunshine!

You would think so, the way they go on with us, the schedulers. We are the front line. We get all the tears and anger and fear and details, calm them down, and then book their appts. We handle all the crises and last minute prescription refills. See why Fridays and holidays are panic time. I actually had a young woman stand inside a pharmacy after closing time refusing to leave until she had meds in hand. Problem was no one was in who could write a scrip! Oh was she ever screaming at me…

Then it’s back home for a surprise birthday party that I know I’ll be too tired for, but need to attend.
