GoombaMy girlfriend bought this fuzzball and surprised me with the little bundle of fluff and told me her name was Lola. That name just didn’t fit this crazy, mischievous ball of frenetic energy. She’s always on the attack and loves her fuzzy mouse toys, throwing them in the air and batting them across the room! Toes beware! Goomba is constantly on the lookout for something with which she can pounce!

Goomba! Gottcha! Not running off with the little furball just going to give her some loving and then return her to her rightful place. She is a pretty little Calico Kitty.

May she bring you years of Love, laughter and joy…

Lola reminds me of my tortie Pumpkin. When she was little she would fall asleep biting you and then wake up to finish biting you. She is now a sweetheart, but can bite with force when called for. Also, she can hold her own with my boy cats, slapping them across the face if they get too close.

My daughter and I always wanted a tuxedo baby–we got one and Sox was a most beautiful boy. My husband has always wanted a calico. He took one look at todays beautiful baby and melted. Then he read the description of her attitude, and he exclaimed that is Teaser (his smoky grey/black stripped kitty)! Thank you for sharing her beauty.

Morning everyone. Hope everyone is having a great break. Now this sweet heart is exactly what I needed to see this morning before I return to work at the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras. Day two and after yesterday I’m bushed. Found it hard to get up this morning so sleepy. But this sweet heart put a mischievous smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart so I am ready for round 2. Everyone Take care. Sorry I have missed a few days, I have been peeking in at the fuzzbutts but have not had enough time to reply or comment. Take care.

HI Alex! Having fun this memorial break?

Take care, Bye y’all. Hey have I missed any good recipes lately that I should be looking for?

Good morning Chester. So glad you got to see this cute kitten this morning. Has to make you feel better. I think about you everyday and pray for your health and strength. Is it Tuesday that you go to the Hospital? I thought you said the 29th but not sure.

My calico Zasha turned 18 years old today. A spoiled rotten girl because she was my only for 14 years. Her life changed when Munchie, a starving kitten, ran into the house one autumn evening. Couldn’t put him out. Then the rescues started in earnest and now there are 20 others for her to dislike. :P

Yea Tues the day. Kinda going out of my mind. Not that I had one to start with. Have been under the knife before. Both were said to be life threating. Didn’t find out about the cancer till afterwards. Thank god for that. That one was for a colapsed duodinum or something like that. See I have very littel digestive system left from the first one. Would make a lousy cat haven’t had a simple glass of milk since 1983. I guess it’s because on this one I’m not married & have no support (forive me but in “that” way to burn off energy). Heck even then I had cats & a dog to help. Now I just get to sit & wait. Thought it was going to be a long wait but it’s coming faster than I can stand. Anyone own stock in a beer store????
Hi to all the Susan’s out there who been real uportive & just to who’s thinking about me. Hopefully this will be the last time will have to go through this. But grew up at the mouth of the keys & spent most of my time outside.

Brandi that is so funny Petey who has with three families all of them mine jumps up on my lap and keeps kissing me on the lips. I asked my sister-in-law if he did that at her house and she said no. I let him kiss me three or four times I told him anymore than that and I better see a ring on my finger! He is the only kitty I have had that kisses he even jumps up on the bed and kisses me than curls up next to my back. Now is he was a 2 two legged guy named Petey I wouldn’t object.

My Molly loves to kiss on the lips and nose to nose. She is always really intent when she comes up to kiss me–she kisses the other animals, too. I think it is because she was 4 weeks when I got her and gave her lots of kisses although not on the lips LOL but I think thats where she got the idea.

Good Day everyone. Goomba’s photo has got to make it as top kitten or calendar kitten somewhere. The cutest and a definite keeper. I’m sure her picture would melt even the most hardened of heart.

One of my kittens born 3 weeks ago is a calico tortie too. She has a face that I just can’t stop looking at. So precious like Goomba. Trying to get a good pic of her to submit. She keeps moving. Last evening she was learning how to run, have you ever seen a wee wobbly baby do the side ways dance or fall over mid run. So adorable. Leilani (Hawaiian) is the name I’m thinking about for her.

Incredible face on this baby! Just gorgeous.
Ange, don’t work too hard at Mardi Gras! Breakfast in bed for hubby and a soak in the hot tub started our day. It would be nice to grill out, but with all the smoke hanging in the air from the forest fires it might not be a good idea to add to it. Guess George Foreman will have to come to the rescue. Happy day all.

Dee, grilled bananas sound wonderful. Our waiter served up plantains to my hubby who grew up calling them plantanos. The little boy told hubby that in his country they split them and put cheese in the middle to cook them. Mmmm
Rusty dawg eats Beneful shredded meat stews and the kits eat nonrecalled commercial food. With three new mouths competing to eat the older ones aren’t so persnickety. :-)
But that doesn’t diminish my appreciation of you trying to protect our babies and our local economies.

Sharon–I have two plaintains sitting on my counter waiting for them to ripen. They are delicious when they are almost black and you can saute them with butter and brown sugar—or just throw in the microwave for a couple minutes. SO good. I’ve never had them with cheese–I’d bet that would be really good, also. There is a large Cuban population in this area and I’ve grown to love Cuban food. And plantanos served green or ripe are a delicious Cuban custom. Oh–and plantain chips! Yum! Similar to potato chips but with more crunch and substance. You probably have those in your neck of the woods, eh?

Oh–and in response to your last line–you’re very welcome.

Thanks for the kind words. C.C. was full of sweet purry attitude. If she wanted something, she would let me know about it - first with her voice, then with her claws. If I got impatient with her for using me as a clawing post because I didn’t give her what she wanted right away, she would just look at me and melt my heart with those beautiful green eyes and there was no way I could be mad at her. Most of the time (when she wasn’t clawing me) she was such a sweet little girl and would spend the evenings curled up in my lap while we watched T.V.
Watching T.V, just isn’t the same without her

What was the original name of Memorial Day?

Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. After World War II, the use of “Memorial Day” became more common, but was not declared the official name by Federal law until 1967.

I grew up calling it Decoration Day. At one time with traveling on wagons or horseback people would pack picnic lunches and eat and visit on the grass after the graves were decorated. My great aunt refused to use the new name and would celebrate it on the “correct” day not on the Monday. She was 66 when it was changed.
