Michael was a stray kitten that I took in. He is eight weeks old and loves jinglebells! He loves to snuggle, and loves to bite. He’s a funny little guy.

It’s been a long, long, time since I’ve been first and I’m happy to be able to pounce on little Michael! He has gorgeous eyes…love the pink flamingos too! Chin scritches to Mikey!
Oh my! *runs to Pipa’s mum with a pillow, 2 aspirin and a muffin to soak up the abc stuff. Hands her Michael purring to bring her around* Easy on the stuff, girlfriend!
We’ve been in MD for three (almost four) weeks now. It’s been a long, hard road getting settled. Hubbie went on chemo after all but made him so sick and weak. He’s off it now and recouperating.
With that silver-ish fur and the tabby markings, he almost looks like a silver maine coon. A friend had one once, but I don’t remember what he looked like as a wee one. My coon doesn’t have his mane anymore, hopefully temporary. We’ve been working on getting his mats out that accumulated over the winter. He looks good, only a few bald spots on his sides.
My Sebastian is not a Maine Coon, but a long haired tuxedo kitty. Every spring I have to shave his ‘dreadlocks’ off. I did this about 2 months ago and now he’s the (in the words of the Talking Heads) ’same as he ever was.’
Hey Cheri - that’s happening here too. Maybe it’s international boss-being-an-insensitive-idiot-dork day. Exceptions being any TDKr’s who are bosses. If all bosses went to this site, we wouldn’t have to deal with them being insensitive idiot dorks!
My boss is actually having a pretty good day. Makes me better to the people that I’m a boss to. He is going on vacation tomorrow. Maybe that has something to do with it. I’m going soon too.
I don’t even have a boss and the guy at Merrill Lynch who is suppose to have called me yesterday and didn’t return my phone call is a dork too! Growl!
Watched my nephew graduate from high school. His high school had the option for the graduates to come up to the podium to thank whoever they wanted to thank. There was so much cheering that it was the most fun and the best graduation I ever been to. We had a nice picnic dinner later on. Temps were 90 degrees in the area. It is suppose to be 87 today. I prefer 65-75 degree weather. Oh well.
I’ll trade with you. It has been in the high 50’s low 60’s in my neighborhood the past couple of days. New England is the strangest. One of these days the switch will be flicked and summer will be here, I hope.
Come on Pipa’s mum… wake up Pipa’s mum… oh no - too much ABC! *Waves fresh brewed espresso under Pipa’s Mum’s nose* We can’t let Huddy’s Mama get away with this! *Rubia and Pipa’s Mum get into the secret Tardis, go back in time and hide Mikey away where HM can’t find him.* We’ll bring him to the sharing circle if HM promises to play nice!
Hmmm - OK we need to try another approach. *Brings platter stacked high with BBQ steak and baby-back ribs* We’ll share our BBQ with you if you will share Michael?
Is that any relation to Barnese? Both of my furballs belong to that spotless pedigree…

Barnese are the country cousins of the Alleymeese. They share many of the traits of the Cat Fancy Pedigreed Siamese and derivitives thereof including but not limited to the himalayan pointing patterns of the coat, silky fur, sleek lean body, talkativeness, intelligence and inquisitiveness. The sleek lean body and distinctive voice of the PS are required in identifying the Alleymeese or Barnese who does not display pointed coloration.
Oh my gosh..such sad, sad news. I thought he was well on the road to recovery. That’s just terrible. His posts will be missed…..my thoughts and prayers are with you Chester and your family…..may you rest in pain free peace…
Just a few days ago he posted and bantered with Instinct. He sounded so positive. He had the ability to find such good even in the most trying times. My heart goes out to his family and friends as well as my prayers for peace. He will be so missed here at TDK. He was one of the good guys–a cowboy in white.
I also saw it this morning. My heart breaks for Chester’s family, but I know that he is being loved by all the kitties over the Rainbow Bridge and especially by Instinct and Intuition’s Roo!! Hugs to all who will miss Chester
What a great image of Chester free of pain or uncertainty about what’s going to happen next, sitting in the sunshine surrounded by all the cats who came running to greet a friend. Some of them are sprawling on his lap, others are climbing on him, and they’re all purring to be with such a gentle and good person.

I agree, Ann. I often picture my Dad at the Rainbow Bridge and it makes me smile through tears.

When I read about Chester, I felt like I had taken a blow to the chest and am sitting at my desk crying. He was a part of our little on-line family and will be sorely missed. I too will picture him there at the Rainbow bridge. In my mind he is now the official greeter. First getting to know all our our beloved pets that came before him, and greeting those that will come. I’m picturing him petting Instinct and Intuision’s little Roo, telling her about all the emails about her and giving her chin scritches. RIP Chester, you will not be forgotten.
Chester was always able to find the joy and laughter no matter what was going on. I never met him, but his beautiful spirit always shined through. I’m glad to know he is not in any more pain, but I am going to miss him. Never did come up with the right story about the scar.
Well written and gives me a beautiful image, ppearson. When I read late last night that he had passed away, I kept saying oh no. I had to explain to my husband who he was and why I felt the way I felt which was sadness. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family at their time of sorrow.
I saw that this morning. It is very sad. Chester seemed like a really sweet and kind man with a great, positive attitude and sense of humour. We are all very saddened by his passing.
Just read the terrible news. Chester was one of the special gentle souls and I will miss him. This news has me weeping and hugging my Munchie. I am doing my best to picture Chester, as mentioned above, sitting in the sun with all the wonderful critters climbing over and around him in greeting. Chester surely is wearing a big smile today.

Hi all, wish I could be visiting the sight with better news. But today at about 11 Am chester’s brother called me and said that he had passed away last night……….If you want to know more you all can email me at greeneyesvirginia@yahoo.com or call 276-252-2386. My name is susie
I just spoke with Susie, who was a lifelong friend, and Chester’s ‘girlfriend’ he often referred to. She’s totally devestated, and has no money to cover driving to the funeral in Illinois, from Virginia where she lives, an hour south of Roanoke. Can we consider helping her, TDK? She doesn’t have a computer, but she can use her friend’s computer. I can call her free from my cellphone.

Pounce!
It’s been a long, long, time since I’ve been first and I’m happy to be able to pounce on little Michael! He has gorgeous eyes…love the pink flamingos too! Chin scritches to Mikey!
Hey Mikey……he likes it!!!
Guess it’s your day, CatRancher - make it a great one! PS-I emailed you yesterday.
Ok first choice of the crispy bacon goes to Catrancher today! What would you like to drink? Latte, Mimosa? ABC? (ABC is Ammaretto, Baileys and Coffee)
I want an ABC!! please?
Ok, I didn’t get first pounce but I’m willing to share the kitty…
Pretty please?
*huge pleading eyes*
Have the extra large mug! Just eat something to go with it!
No need, I can stand this sissy ABC stuff…
*THUD*
Oh my! *runs to Pipa’s mum with a pillow, 2 aspirin and a muffin to soak up the abc stuff. Hands her Michael purring to bring her around* Easy on the stuff, girlfriend!
*shakes head*
*brrrrrrr*
*smiles*
Good stuff!
*snorgles Michael and hugs kind Lynn*
You’re welcome, Pipa’s Mom. Watch the head next time! If not, I’ll be behind you with the pillow again!
Mimosa Please!! How’s everyone doing?
Hey Tiger when is the big move? Hope it all goes smoothly!
We’ve been in MD for three (almost four) weeks now. It’s been a long, hard road getting settled. Hubbie went on chemo after all but made him so sick and weak. He’s off it now and recouperating.
BTW, is cat-swiping now passé? Just wondering.
You think Tiger…

Its just that I have a childish heart…
Positive thoughts that your hubby is feeling better, Tiger.
Tiger, glad your move is complete. Welcome to the east coast! Hope Hubby feels better soon.
Best thoughs for Hubby and for your transition to Maryland. Mmmmmm Maryland crabcakes (Homer Simpson noises) Keep us posted
Joan — yes I received your email, thank you!
ppearson –I’ll start with the Latte and thank you, my dear!
ABC PLEASE! I could use the relaxation. Warm coffee and soothing spirits, doesn’t get much better than this.
Is it called ABC because after too many you can’t remember the alphabet?
Cute kitty today such soulfull eyes.
ABC = ameretto, baileys and coffee. I didn’t know either until someone explained it to me. I like your definition though.
Years ago I was drinking sloe gin fizzes they taste like cherry pop until you stand up and your legs fold under like a card table.
Precious precious baby. He looks like he’d be a funny little guy.

Just visualizing a dreadlocked cat. . .did he have the different colored beads at the end of each braid?
Love the eyes!
Oh yes, what an adorable face! I hope the biting stops, that can be really annoying, but I bet he’s just teething now.
I’m grateful there is a site like TDK. It definently reduces my stress level. My boss is being an insensitive idiot dork today…
Cheri dear… thay are meant to be dorks… it’s in a boss’ job…

Just think of Pierce and have a chocolate cookie
*hug*
Or Johnny Depp and have a chocolate chip cookie or two!
***sigh***

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Karin. Olive has her paws crossed, too.
Hear anything on the catering job?
Or maybe you would have no job if boss figured out you were on TDK all day and not working. lol
You guys are fast!
ohhhh funny funny little kitty. bet life is never dull with him around. good morning to all.
Hi Rowen ,glad to see ypu here again ,How’s B’klyn?
OMG I can type!
You can NOT!!
YOUR right!
Oh, what a sweet kitty! *Steals him and runs in terror* I’ve lurked a long time and know the fight I’m in for!
The number of Georgians grows and grows.Welcome, Linda! Pretty soon we’ll outnumber those Texans. (plot to overthrow! what plot?)
Run, Linda, Run!
Now now Linda… you really should have left this to us pros…
*grabs blue eyed kitten and flees with turbo booster backpack*
You’ve been watching too many Pierce Brosnan flicks (I know, I know–this is Impossible…)
Good morning, Kittenmaster & Alex & all!
If loving that man is a sin… I’M GUILTY!
*giggle*
You Georgians should learn not to get between a Texan and her cat (plots to grab little Michael with help from Huddy’s Mama).
Seriously, though, I love Georgia, especially Atlanta. Welcome to the group.
And my roots are in Texas on maternal g’father’s side. Guess we’ll have to cooperate. Which I don’t mind at all!
My great frandmother on my mom’s side left Glascow, Scotland and ended up in Thurber,TX. I still have some kin folk running around down there.
Thurber! I grew up near there! Very cool.
Run Linda Run - stop by Varsity and get a quick pick-me-up for energy.
* Sneaks up behind Pipa’s Mum while she sips her ABC and dreams of Pierce. Grabs Mikey and puts him in the side car of her supercharged motorcycle*
* Zooms back to the UK, where Mikey gets loads of cuddles and head scritches!*
Ok… who are you and why do you know everything about me?
You mean my miNd protecting metal helmet doesn’t work?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
*Brandishes pitchfork fitted with tractor beam and gets Michael away from the ‘amateurs,’ and loads him into backpack.
Au revoir………suckers!!!
I’ve already gotten away with it. And no meddling kids bothered me either.
Hey, HM, I’ve got some great places to hide the little guy.
Hmmm - OK we need to try another approach. *Brings platter stacked high with BBQ steak and baby-back ribs* We’ll share our BBQ with you if you will share Michael?
Ooooh Rubia…. Clever girl!

With you all the way!
*Brings out hot dogs with all toppings imaginable*
Well it’s gotta be real barbecue. Not just meat with barbecue sauce on it.
And I only eat Hebrew National dogs, so if they’re anything other than that, I’m keepin’ Michael.
It’s definitely real BBQ! Can’t you smell that wonderful hickory smoke aroma? Mmmmm…..
HM - pitchfork has a tractor beam now? Cool!
Gotta stay one step ahead of the pack, hon!
Bwa ha ha ha!!!
Michael, what striking features you have! Looks like he has to grow into the tail.
Oh what a pretty baby! I love the coloring. He has such a different sort of look about him. I wonder what breed he is.
Looks like Alleymeese to me.
LOL. I love that! My emma is a Meezer Mix so I will have to apply that to her as well
Ha! Ha! that’s what I should call Ferrule!
Love it! My kitties are Allymeese to the core…
Is that any relation to Barnese? Both of my furballs belong to that spotless pedigree…
