Good morning TDK’ers!
G’morning FondaHonda
How ya feeling this morning?
Good good good. *sigh* It’s Friday and I get to lay around the house and let the man friend play nurse tihs weekend. And no, I won’t be dressing him up in a little nurse’s uniform *giggles*
But why not?
Dress him up in male nurse uniform…
Maybe if you call him Mac Dreamy man friend, he’ll be ever more helpful
how about the male nurse/stripper outfit?
You guys are too funny. I could dress him up in the male nurse/stripper outfit I guess.
I dunno how he’d feel about it, but since I’m the sick one he should do what I want doncha think?
Just be careful with his choice in undies… important in theese costumes…
Mayhap I’ll just make him go commando!!
Commando would work for me..he,he..w/just enuf skin showing to keep the imagination going
uhh… You are talking about your man-friend,right?
Too funny! How about a candystriper (or candy stripper
) outfit?
and I think black leather or red silk THONGS would be great
I like the black leather thong idea. He probably won’t, but I’ll suggest it anyway.
“Uh, honey…I have an idea..you might want to check this out…uh” lol
Yes, Susie, I’m talking about my man friend.
“come on honey, it will make both of us feel better”
oh so funny! (wonder if I could make my guy wear something yummy like that?)
–HM–
I was kidding w/the uhh thing
–I have a friend who used to ‘knit’ gifts for xmas gifts.
Well, one year she knitted all the males what you’d call “Head warmers”…if you know what I mean…tee hee
Made my man look like he had an elephant trunk
*snickering*
I have been busy for the past couple of weeks, and I mostly just lurk. I have a comment for all you naughty cat people out there. Stop, please you are making me blush. Alright, you’re also making me laugh, and my imagination was going wild.
i’m feeling ok too after my 3rd laser eye surgery. i just came into work at 1:00 pm eastern time and will work until 5p, then go to a picnic party at 6 pm…thanks for all the vibes and hugs…
–Cheri–
That’s great that everything went so well
Great news! Enjoy the picnic party–you could use a break!
TGIF! Friday is margarita day on TDK so what’s your pleasure. If we have enough margarita’s maybe we will be as content as this little guy.
A nice big Margarita with crushed ice and no salt please! I’ve got the nachos with all sorts of toppings! Breakfast burritos for those of you where it is still early morning!
Yes Rubia
A breakfast burrito would be wonderful…but no kitty hair please…I have more than enuf here
**mmmmmmm**
You make a deliciously mean burrito Rubia
Midori margarita with sugar on the rim instead of salt. Yeah… that’ll get me through the day !
Oooh, Midori margarita sounds yummy! Great idea One Popoki. I also like the sugar idea too. Yummy way to start the weekend! TGIF for those of you that are working.
I have an interview at a small company on Monday. I am hoping to hear from two more companies that they want to interview me in person. Trying to think positive here.
Eeep. Someone’s stolen his body!
ha,ha
I looked at Hemmingway’s mouth & could swear he spoke
**ahhhh,this is the life…….
Ahh, another pretty stripe. Hemmingway is a sweet boy, indeed. *brings Hemmingway to the sharing circle*
OK, HM is willingly bringing kittens to share. Wonder if they are having snowball fights in….. well, you know
All a part of that ‘lulling people into a false sense of security’ thing I seem to find myself so good at.
guess I won’t need these now
*goes and puts away parka and ski boots*
Don’t let her fool you, Instinct! It’s probably alcohol or the pain pills talking!
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……
Hemmingway’s nose looks like he got into the coffee or hot chocolate this morning. Such a cute kitty. Love the name.
*wiggles into sharing circle*
Pass me the Hemmingway…
*Prrr*
Good stuff!
*joins sharing circle and gets lulled into false sense of security*
Anybody have chocolate this morning?
Sad news — one of my dad’s cats died yesterday. He lives alone, too, just him and his other three cats, so I’m a little worried about him.
So sorry to hear that. How far away from you does he live?
A couple hours. I hope to see him this weekend.
Condolences to your dad. What was the cause?
You know, I don’t think he ever figured out what was wrong. She had been a little sickly for awhile, but a battery of tests at the vet never came up with anything conclusive.
Maybe it was just old age. By my guess, she was 16.
I’m so sorry for your dad. It’s hard to lose a beloved pet, even those who are getting on in years. I hope you’re able to visit, and that the company of his other two cats will comfort him somewhat.
Awww, your poor dad. I’ll keep him in my prayers. I wish MY dad would get a cat or 2. He’d be better off for it.
so sorry for dad.
Catherine in Waco,
I am so sorry about your Dad’s cat.
I know my husband took our cat’s
death very bad a few years ago.
He made a powerpoint show of
his life w/pictures and captions.
It was very cathartic for him.
It took about 2 weeks and then
he was fine. Then he went out
and let our orangie, Sammy,
adopt us.
Snuggles to you .. and
Pass the Hemingway around again!!
Great idea Sammy’s Mom. My dad wrote a short story about their dog Mora (Belgium Sheep dog) when she died. He came over to my place, read it to me and had a good cry with me. That dog was like a child to him. They don’t have any pets at this time and do not want any right now. I keep teasing my Dad about how my Mom may want another cat. Mom is 64 and dad is 74 so maybe she doesn’t want a pet at this time. I keep teasing them.
I remember seeing Jimmy Stewart on the Tonight Show years ago. His much beloved dog had passed away and he read a poem that he had written obout his beloved friend. It really brought tears to my eyes. Doing something like that certainly seems to help deal with the grief.
I remember crying when I watched that. . .
“Beau” by Jimmy Stewart
He never came to me when I would call
Unless I had a tennis ball,
Or he felt like it,
But mostly he didn’t come at all.
When he was young
He never learned to heel
Or sit or stay,
He did things his way.
Discipline was not his bag
But when you were with him things sure didn’t drag.
He’d dig up a rosebush just to spite me,
And when I’d grab him, he’d turn and bite me.
He bit lots of folks from day to day,
The delivery boy was his favorite prey.
The gas man wouldn’t read our meter,
He said we owned a real man-eater.
He set the house on fire
But the story’s long to tell.
Suffice it to say that he survived
And the house survived as well.
On the evening walks, and Gloria took him,
He was always first out the door.
The Old One and I brought up the rear
Because our bones were sore.
He would charge up the street with Mom hanging on,
What a beautiful pair they were!
And if it was still light and the tourists were out,
They created a bit of a stir.
But every once in a while, he would stop in his tracks
And with a frown on his face look around.
It was just to make sure that the Old One was there
And would follow him where he was bound.
We are early-to-bedders at our house–
I guess I’m the first to retire.
And as I’d leave the room he’d look at me
And get up from his place by the fire.
He knew where the tennis balls were upstairs,
And I’d give him one for a while.
He would push it under the bed with his nose
And I’d fish it out with a smile.
And before very long
He’d tire of the ball
And be asleep in his corner
In no time at all.
And there were nights when I’d feel him
Climb upon our bed
And lie between us,
And I’d pat his head.
And there were nights when I’d feel this stare
And I’d wake up and he’d be sitting there
And I reach out my hand and stroke his hair.
And sometimes I’d feel him sigh
and I think I know the reason why.
He would wake up at night
And he would have this fear
Of the dark, of life, of lots of things,
And he’d be glad to have me near.
And now he’s dead.
And there are nights when I think I feel him
Climb upon our bed and lie between us,
And I pat his head.
And there are nights when I think
I feel that stare
And I reach out my hand to stroke his hair,
But he’s not there.
Oh, how I wish that wasn’t so,
I’ll always love a dog named Beau.
Beautiful

I think Jerry’s hands must be full now–he’s gotten a lot of kitties since he pased.
Condolences to your Dad. Purrs and hugs.
What a wonderful, contented face! Hugs to you, lovely kittie! kt
I love it when cats turn their bones into rubber.
Hi, KM!
Hi, Alex!
me too, I wish I could do that
Here, MeezerMama, have some of my pain pills and you too can have that boneless cat sensation. ‘Tis quite nice, actually.
If I didn’t have to leave in a minute for the ‘back cracker’, I’d be having that boneless cat sensation right now. Guess I have to wait til later
Oooh, thank you HM
Combined with the new water feature at my desk, work is quite Zen today.
BTW
My new “water feature” is my vacation perspective on the multiple leaks that formed at my desk yesterday and are still dripping today. The sound really is soothing if you don’t actually look at the tobacco spit colored water and smell the tar
So…. what would happen if your computer somehow accidentally came in contact with the water feature… Just a little bit - maybe only the keyboard - not enough to destroy enought but just enough to require a little drying out time…? Perhaps vacation could start a bit early???
Oops - I meant not enough to destroy anything…
Hmm, there’s a thought….
MeezerMama–isn’t that a good way to contract Legionnaires disease? It sounds pretty unhealthy!
Will homemade blueberry muffins let me in?
Sure, come on in!
OOOOH, I’m joining the circle! Anyone have coffee, chocolate or any other goodies?
Good morning all. Sure hope Alex isn’t on today. I’ve got mimosas and eggs bennedict, *stumbles towards sharing circle* Please Pass Hemmingway for a snorgle. Thanks
Oops - catches Mom to Tiga and the gang just before she drops the eggs benedict and spills the mimiosas! Here - let me help! *Sets cyber booze port to download*
Uh oh… whersh the mimmoossash gone…. Hey - I realllly luuuv you guyshh….
