This is Cheeto, about eight weeks old. He is a funny little furball! His favorite place to sleep is in your arms while being cuddled. He doesn’t purr much, but you can just tell he is very happy!

Wait, I have the bacon!!!!! Extra crunch for you HM and chewey for me. I also have home baked bread and garden fresh tomatoes. I’m thinking breakfast BLT’s with extra bacon sound good to me!
Both my husband and I were awake at 4:40 am just before it hit and Sylvester was under the bed. It was a sharp jolt and sounded loud. Since we are in Alameda right next to Oakland it felt kind of strong. It felt like it was more like a 5 or 5.2 quake.

–Hey Karin–
I just caught that you changed your name here on TDK.
Should I change it on your e-mail address that I write to you at?
Good Morning TDK family and happy Friday!! What a precious baby. I want him and I’m gonna take him to the sharing circle. Come on everyone. Who’s got breakfast?
I’m gonna knock it anyway. I’m not a big fan of peach, and I’m not a big cereal eater unless it’s Special K (which happens to be my nickname - lol). The almonds I’ll take though. I like those!!
Very cute cat family you have there Catherine. I love the stretched out sleeping pictures of rattlesnake. Also love the diary about Spook letting you all know that she couldn’t find the litter box and let you all know by doing it on the blanket on you couch. Easier to clean up in a way. hee hee
Hola, Mami de Pipa! Como te va? Tengo chicharrones con chile y limon para ti–los gustan?

Pipa’s mum has done went home for the day. She said, she doesn’t have access to the internet except at work.
She did tell me that she has been reading TDK everyday to keep up with everybody. Since she goes to work so early and leaves early, she said that the new kitten of the day hasn’t arrived before she leaves, so she reads it the next day. There is a 7 hr. time difference from where I live and Spain.
On another note, I haven’t heard from Ivory Bill, even though I sent an e-mail to what I thought was his address.
Cheeto is such a little sweetie, reminds me of my ginger cat when he was little.
I had seven grain flake cereal with organic vitamin D milk. Also a nice big glass of water. What I would like to really eat is some eggs, bacon, toast and fresh orange juice with a mocha to top it all off. Have to watch the nickels and dimes till I land a perm job. Still waiting for my paycheck from the temp job. Should have sent it to me on Tuesday but as of yesterday still not sent out. They better Fedex it to me at this point. Sheesh!
My brain waves must be strong because just after I finished typing my post and was going to send email to the HR Director, she sent me an email notifying me they were overnighting it for Sat delivery. Excellent! Now if only they could have had this kind of attitude when I was working there. HR Director has been good the whole time. It was just the rest of the people that were pain in the “arse”.
Cheeto is absolutely adorable! He looks like a little stuffed tiger toy!And to have him go to sleep in one’s arms–ahhhhhhhh. (Now–where is that chocolate biscotti? Yummmm)
One of our cats DID purr for the first year we had her, but she never “spoke” - no miaowing, chirruping etc. Then she suddenly started talking to us all the time. She might have learned this from her brother who is a great one for yelling, but why it took a year, I don’t know
My Snowman (RIP) didn’t purr for his first whole year, talked lots and lots (meezer you know) then he started purring. He was soooo loud with his purring you could hear him from the next room! Boy do I miss him. *sighs*
April purrs louder than any cat I know, but she meowed for the first time just a couple of weeks ago (and she’s two-and-a-half years old). Five or six meows in a row; I couldn’t believe it. But she hasn’t spoken again since. I’ve tried saying “meow” to her but she won’t reply. Too bad, because she has a pretty voice.
My Maverick is like that. His purr is very quiet. Sebastian has a loud purr and so does Huddy. Huddy purrs ALL THE TIME. He’s the happiest cat on Earth.

Of course he is the happiest cat in the world. He has you for a momma!
My first cat Whiskers was like that. She didn’t have any meow until she was a year old. Also she purred so quietly that I would have to feel her throat to find out or put my head to her body. RIP Whiskers. I still miss her. Now Sylvester purrs very loudly. I call him a motorcat sometimes. Also he mostly chirps but does meow when he wants out of the bedroom. He hates closed doors.

That’s the way Runt is. She actually sings while she purrs. I’m not exaggerating either. She purrs different tones up & down as she purrs & it sounds just like she’s singing. I think you would adore her. And on the plus side, she has no problems at all w/any male cats. She only hisses at her sister & I think that’s the maternal side of her still responding because Prettygirl does it right back at her. She seems to really like male cats.
I heard. Good for NIKE! They had a Michael Vick shoe coming out also but that has been shelved. The shoes are already in warehouses but will not be released. I heard that on Rock 103 this morning.
Rock 103 still exists in Memphis? I listened to that station when I was stationed in Millington in 1984….wow.

**ASPCA RESPONDS TO FEDERAL INDICTMENT OF MICHAEL VICK**
As reported by the Associated Press earlier this week, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with competitive dog fighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting and conducting the enterprise across state lines. The 18-page indictment further alleges that the dogfighting operation was started in Vick’s Surry County, Virginia, home in 2001, where multiple dogs were found dead earlier this year.
Says the ASPCA’s Dr. Randall Lockwood, Senior Vice President, Anti-Cruelty Initiatives & Legislative Services, “The violent actions described in the indictment are extremely disturbing, but it is important for the criminal justice system to be allowed to take its course. Hopefully, the evidence gathered in this case will tell the true story of what happened to the animals who suffered and died.”
Vick is scheduled to appear in a Richmond federal court next Thursday, July 26. If convicted of all the charges, the 27-year-old football star could face up to six years in prison.
Says ASPCA President & CEO Ed Sayres, “It is gratifying to see federal authorities taking an active role in investigating dog fighting, which is a felony offense in 48 states, and something that we in the animal welfare world take extremely seriously. Federal charges in dog fighting are extremely rare, and we applaud the authorities for giving this crime the attention it deserves.”
**ASPCA SUCCESS STORY OF THE WEEK: BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE**
When Shandy Iden and her boyfriend, Jay, came across Gabby in Ohio’s Stark County Dog Pound, the shy, not-so-cuddly Lab/shar-pei mix was barely a month old and had a bad case of ticks. “When I saw this scared little girl in the back of her cage,” says Shandy, “I didn’t care if she had two heads and one leg. I couldn’t get her out of there fast enough!”
Curled up on her new parents’ laps on her first day home, it appeared as though Gabby would be a very calm lap dog. But it only took an hour of being alone with her new baby for Shandy to realize this would not be the case. “Once Jay left the house for work, everything changed,” Shandy recalls. Her cute little puppy was suddenly ripping and racing through the house, chasing the cat, hiding under chairs and shredding tissues.
“Jay came home to a house in shambles,” recalls Shandy. “The couches and chairs were all turned over, there were tissues, cat hair and brand new chew toys torn to shreds all over the floor―and there was Gabby, sound asleep. We both looked at each other and laughed. How could such an adorable creature cause so much havoc?”
It’s been over a year now, and Gabby has calmed down―a little. “She cuddles up on the couch with me after work and watches TV,” says Shandy, “but she still always has something in her mouth―a ball, a toy, and yes―tissues. I guess you can’t win them all. I look back on that first night and think of our life with Gabby as a Marx Brothers movie. She started off making me laugh and I haven’t stopped yet. She’s the love of my life.”
Oh Cheeto boy, come here so I can squeeze you! I love all these kittens. It’s great to have a place that we can have tons of fur babies. If I havent said it before, thank you Kittenmaster.
Oh yes it does, my co-worker was just elling me she sometimes goes to the pound, to reassure all the babies in their that someone will come and take them home!
Pounce!
And now to the sharing circle with frappacinos and biscotti — chocolate, of course.
I’m gonna leave Cheeto in the sharing circle whilst I find a greasy spoon to get myself some REAL breakfast. Be back soon. *smooches*
Wait, I have the bacon!!!!! Extra crunch for you HM and chewey for me. I also have home baked bread and garden fresh tomatoes. I’m thinking breakfast BLT’s with extra bacon sound good to me!
ohhh love his colors!! He’s licking his chops!
Such a cutie! Hi, KM! Hi, Alex!
Yeah. He’s thinkin’ bout those BLT’s. Wouldn’t mind one myself.
Love Cheeto’s ‘V’ for Vroooom
Karin, how things shakin’ your way. I’m surprised I wasn’t awakened by the 4.2 quake. Us Californians have felt worse tho.
I felt it. It was pretty mild where I live. I was already awake or I doubt it would have woke me up.
Hi Susie, no need.
It is soooooooooooo cute- chetto!
Love the name!
I know! What a sweet little cheese puff!!!
Bosley’s new nickname is now Cheeto Bandito!!
He’s so big I think it would even be better to nickname him Puffy Cheeto!!
I LOVE Cheeetos - And I love this little furball! He looks like a funny little mischief maker! But is he crunchy or puffy?
Doesn’t matter, as long as he’s fluffy!
little marmelade sweetie!
Good Morning TDK family and happy Friday!! What a precious baby. I want him and I’m gonna take him to the sharing circle. Come on everyone. Who’s got breakfast?
I do (but I don’t know how many of you would want it!)
I’m eating peach yogurt, mixed with Basic 4 cereal and almonds. Hey–don’t knock it until ya try it!
I’m gonna knock it anyway. I’m not a big fan of peach, and I’m not a big cereal eater unless it’s Special K (which happens to be my nickname - lol). The almonds I’ll take though. I like those!!
Would you at least try it, HM? Please, please? I’ll even throw in some thick sliced bacon for ya!
yougurt mixed with bacon??? ewwwwww :p
Nah……it sounds so……….non meat-ish. But thanks anyway, hon.
See above, I brought the bacon
Mmmmmmm, I’ll have a BL cut the T with extra B.
Thanks!! I was getting really hungry
–I need Avocado to make mine complete, pleeeeease
Sounds good to me. Minus the bacon.
I have new pictures of my furrbabies up on Catster!
Why is he called “rattlesnake’?? I had a cat who thought she was a fish. When I took a bath, she would climb in, too
Because his tail looks like the rattle on a rattlesnake.
And pretty furbabies they are. Rattlesnake certainly looks relaxed and laid back.
I find it amusing that, in all my pictures of him, he’s asleep. I guess it’s a cat thing.
Very cute cat family you have there Catherine. I love the stretched out sleeping pictures of rattlesnake. Also love the diary about Spook letting you all know that she couldn’t find the litter box and let you all know by doing it on the blanket on you couch. Easier to clean up in a way. hee hee
Your furrbabies are precious Catherine. Love the laidback Rattlesnake.
I love the one of him sleeping on your hand.
I think that’s my boyfriend’s hand, actually.
I am having a lot of fun with the Catster stuff, though. More fun, I think, than I have had on Myspace.
Love your babies. Spook is so sweet. I know what you mean by having fun on catster. I’m just getting my feet wet, too.
Ive got grapes, yougurt smoothies and chocolate chip muffins!
Where’s Pipa’s Mum? She brings some mighty fine breakfast.
Pipa’s Mum posted a few days ago about how she misses us, but is only working 1/2 days and isn’t online when breakfast is happening at TDK.
Shout out to Pipa’s Mum–please post when you can. We miss you too!
If I wake up in the middle of the night I’ll jump on and see if she’s about..meanwhile…

About Cheeto not purring much:

But she hasn’t spoken again since. I’ve tried saying “meow” to her but she won’t reply. Too bad, because she has a pretty voice.
My Romeo purrs so low I can’t hear him. I have to touch his throat to see if he is purring. He’s about 7 years old now.
MY Max is the same way, can’t hear a purr at all,
but you can feel it.
Belvedere purrs really loud……sometimes when i’m sleeping if i move he’ll start purring and it wakes me up!
Digit is the same. I think she is on “vibrate” all the time.
My Maverick is like that. His purr is very quiet. Sebastian has a loud purr and so does Huddy. Huddy purrs ALL THE TIME. He’s the happiest cat on Earth.

How precious!
I don’t know if anyone else has heard, but Nike has decided to suspend Michael Vick’s contract. Small victory for the good guys!

I was doing Aviation Fire Control school
Yep. Tim and Bad Dog are still there. They are about to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
Good! Then we can buy Nike again. They have shown some class.
Actually, Nike has only stopped production of one his lines—more info at this petition…
