This our 11 week old kitten. She is full of charisma, and she is very adorable. She is full of mischief but loves to sleep. She is very affectionate and purrs as soon as anyone picks her up (if we can catch her)

Since it is hot over so much of the country, I brought iced cofffee today and lots of fresh fruit and BLT’s with vine ripened tomatoes and thick bacon. HM you can just have the bacon!

Yummy ppearson! I love BLT’s with extra crispy bacon. You can never have too much bacon on a BLT. I am happily chewing on chocolate filled croissant and drinking a grande mocha from Starbucks.

I had a bad night last night. Neighbor left a nasty note on my door complaining about our noise. She claims we stomp around, can hear cat playing, talking loudly, etc. This is in reaction to my complaining about her talking loud three different times now around 1:30 to 2am! Sheesh!

Also, startling news this morning, I just heard from one the people I interviewed with for the Genentech job, the VP the position would have been supporting is no longer with the Genentech. They say the job is now a temp job. They made me wait three weeks to tell me this now. I am so disappointed! It is so hard to land a permanent job! Everyone just wants to hire temps. Not fair to those of us who want perm jobs!!! Growl!

Need to borrow Bob to snuggle with for a few moments if he is at work today.

    Do you live upstairs, Karin?

I do, and once my neighbor came and asked where the party was and what we were doing.

We weren’t doing anything - she could hear the cats running around. They sound like an army.

Of course, that’s why I live UPstairs. :)

Awwww, Karin, sorry to hear about your crappy day - I’m glad you have the Starbucks Coffee and Croissant. Bob is at work (boss will be coming home Thursday night and want his car back, so I’m taking the Bobster to work every day till then) and he wants to play - he’s running and howling in the hall with his plastic balls and a papertowel roll thing. I’m not sure he’s in a snuggling mood, but you can have him for a while. Maybe you can wear him out and then snuggle him? Here he comes!

Thanks Great Dane…okay Bob…let’s play. I am sure with your antics you will have me laughing and forgetting about my troubles and then I can wear you out enough that you will want to come and snuggle with me a little.

Yes HM, I live upstairs. My husband preferred a lower unit but having live in lower units and having to put up with heavy walkers, noise from above and no privacy, I decided this time we were going to get an upper unit. I have never had a complaint lodged with the property managers against me in all the time I have been renting (22 years)! This woman below us writes us a long lengthly letter complaining about the noise, foul language she hears coming from our unit etc and cc’d the property managers. I was furious when I read the letter. We are not that noisy and we are always quiet after 10pm at night. I wrote her a note back and taped it to her door saying that if she has issues with me, that she come and talk with me instead of writing anote and involving the property managers as it states on the property manager’s website that any issues such as noise, that it should be worked out between tenants by having a “friendly” discussion. Sheesh. I need to move to a place where the homes are practically right on top of another or less than 20 feet away. I tell you I need to start researching what it would be like to move away from the SF Bay Area. Maybe Oregon or Washington or even Vancouver British Columbia Canada. Something to think about as a possibility.

I meant move to a place where the homes are not on top of each other. The key word is NOT. Coffee must be kicking in and the fingers cannot keep up with the brain. :-D

Karin, I understand your problems. Neighbors like that can wear you out. Is there any way you could invite her over for coffee and cake, and talk with her? I’ve had more conflicts settled over lemon poppyseed cake and iced coffee than I would actually like to admit!

As for cats being noisy, it was hard for me to comprehend, until I remembered the sound of dear little Ruggles (16 lbs of Maine coon and Manx) shredding his “scratchy box.” It sounded as though a wall was falling down!

And when Rotley and Ruggles are playing furry Cowboys and Indians, the noise is incredible.

And I am sorry about the work situation. You remain in my prayers!

Thanks for bringing Bob back, Karin - I thought you were going to wear him out! The kitty has gone nuts! He’s running as fast as he can up and down the hall! I just heard a loud dialtone and he’d been in boss’ office trying to call some of his kitty friends - I think the speaker scared him, though, he came flying out of there! Now I’m distracting him with a brown paperbag from lunch!

Aarrgghh - problems with neighbors in apartments are the pits! We had some really noisy people living above us once, and my roommate went up to talk to them. They were having family visit, so we said OK, no problem - could they just try to keep the kids quiet. But it went on and on, and sometimes one of them, a slightly retarded teenage boy, used to come and sit on our front steps and sing. Eventually we ended up complaining to the management because talking didn’t help. They ended up getting evicted because it turned out that they had something like twice the number of people permanently living there than they were supposed to. That month before they were required to move out was terrible - they would purposely stomp across the floor at all hours of the night. I did feel bad though, that they got evicted. We just wanted them to have a little consideration.

Another time I almost got into a fist fight with a woman in the laundry room over her removing my stuff from the washer. But she was much bigger than I was, so…

BTW, I have a nice recipe for iced coffee. Mix cold decaf coffee, brewed extra strong, with vanilla ice cream in a blender. Toss in a little chocolate syrup and you have a cold mocha java frappa that may be heavy on the calories, but it is worth it, my darlings!

I forgot to mention yesterday that my vacation starting in 3 days will be in Maine, 425 miles away. I am meeting up with 24 of my friends that I met intially on a cat discussion group on the web. We now meet every summer with no spouses, no children, and no chores to do. We sit around stuffing our faces. This year we will be in Freeport, Maine, the land of shopping. We are renting out an entire campground for 4 days…Yay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BTW, cute kitty !!!

That sounds very cool Cheri - enjoy! We drove about 500 miles for our vacation and it was worth it. On the way home the heat index was 115, air temp ranged from 98 to 102. After 6 hours of driving, my truck turned 80000 miles, and the AC promptly quit. Think it was the heat on the dashboard all that time because we opened up the windows and tried the air after about an hour and it was fine.
    Have a great time!
