Banjo
Location: Camarillo, California, USA

Banjo was adopted from the local pound when he was about four months old. Here he is, enjoying a moment at his new home! He has gorgeous markings, especially on his belly, which he enjoys showing off. Since getting used to his new surroundings, he has become quite a rascal and never seems tired of playing. He is curious about everything, and anything is a plaything. Fingers are fair game! He is just so darn cute and loves being in whatever room his owners are in.

Too cute!!! Superlative Sunday, TDKers!
lets not forget ” VOTE FOR GIMPY” today http://www.arcamax.com/catsanddogs/galpic-36210
Got our votes in.
Me too!! Go Gimpy! Let;s keep Gimpy in first place!
As of last night, I seemed to not be able to vote for Gimpy. When I click on the vote button nothing changes. Growl! Hiss!
You can only vote once every 24 hours.
Gimpy just got my 5 votes. He is ahead by 297 votes.
Hi Athena - Gimpy got my 5 votes - yay Gimpy! He’s just so cute, you must be very proud to be owned by him!
Very cute!!!!! He looks like my Henry! Thanks for adopting him; it always warms my heart to read such stories!
FondaHonda, You are fast. I caught it the minute it changed but there was your comment the moment I got here. I tried. Morning everyone and Happy Sunday.
Forgot to say what a cute kitten. I love it when they lay with their little bellies up. Molly always did as a baby She would lay on her back and wave her paws in the air–if she could of she would have been giggling. She still does it but doesn’t giggle just looks happy
Sandi how close is the fire to you today? Prayers for everyone’s safety - All creatures great and small.
Fortunately it is not close to me. I live in the middle of Missoula–I’m a country girl at heart but glad to live in the middle of town during fire season. The fires are all around though really close as they are in Missoula county or neighboring counties. They are also in populated areas so people have lost homes or have had to evacuate so shelters for people are being set up here in town. I wrote yesterday of shelters for pets. We have been in a stage 2 air alert and all out door activities have been cancelled. I just got home from church and it is strange because the streets are deserted. The smoke gives the atomosphere and eerie quality–the sun is red if you can see it and where it shines it reflects red
Sandi - I sure will be praying for some rain for all the areas suffering as you are now. It would be nice if hurricane Dean would save some rain and come your way. I’ve never experienced what you are going through, but can just imagine how horrible it must be.
It is good to know that arrangements were made for a safe haven for the animals. I worry about the people affected but get very upset thinking about the poor helpless animals that don’t know where to run.
Hope your beautiful State of Montana will be back to normal soon.
Prayers of God’s healing rain to help control the fire. Also prayer of safety to the people and many animals involved in this dangerous fire.
Oh - a little leopard baby! Looks so sweet and innocent asleep - won’t last long - he’ll be awake and into mischief before too long!
Ummm - no - little tiger baby!
Ah well - such a little cutie either way!
He’s a lepger! So beautiful.
Oh, yes, and with a cat grin on his face as though he’s remembering his last exploits. Love the tummy dots and the paw pads.
Strummin on the ole banjo!
Welcome TKDers .. Happy Sunday.
awww looks like Evan as a baby sooo cute
What a cutie!! gotta scritch the belly..gotta love the spotted belly.
I couldn’t access the new kitten until 15.11 - not fair! I’ve always liked Banjos.
I’ve always hated them.
But this one is fabulous! It is not fair to make sweet country girls and boys compete with a professional model. All the other kittens pout now.
What a sweet expression, I can hear the purrs from here! Pretty little tabby, love the black feet and polka dot tummy. But why Banjo as a name? Is he shaped like one?
I’m going to McDonald’s for some breakfast burritos–anyone want anything?
Sure, I’d like a sausage biscuit and coffee with cream please.
coffee and pain pills is the only way I can start the day, but I have heard they have some very good chicken wraps might have to try one
They are very good.
I’d love a sausage McMuffin with egg, please.
Banjo is beautiful! Such bright, clear markings. He is a sweetheart!
Egg McMuffin please!!!!
Mmmm… Night burritos! I take two!
Holy-imposssibly-cute-kitties!! I LOVE spotted tummy kitties!!
*loudly smooches Banjo’s tummy*
Oh Banjo’s got that little wild cat look! Renee your fuzzies are very beautiful, too!
Well, your kitten Banjo, is not just any pound kitten. He is definitely an ocicat–a purebred whose breed was created in the past 30 years. Lucky you–he has all the attributes, and I can almost guarantee that if you throw him a small toy he will play fetch like a dog!
Sounds like you know your ocicats, Ocigirl2. Would you tell us more about them?
I agree with you Ocigirl2 that Banjo is an Ocicat. I looked at my current issue of Cat Fancy Magazine and researched Ocicat breed on the internet and I believe that you really know your cats. Thanks for letting us know. At first look at Banjo, I thought “Bengal”; however, I believe Ocicat is correct. I hope that the owner lets us know for sure what the breed is. Ocigirl2, I hope to see more of your posts here in the future as I believe that you really know your cats. Thanks.
I, too, have one of these ohoooo so special kittys. his name is yoda. These guys actually do have the “fetch” thing in their blood, yoda is 12 years old and is still acting like a young kitten. He loves to ride in cars too. Or vans, or whatever my friends drive . Last week he got in the van with this friend and rode halfway home with him . He picks out his own can of food too, and if you dont ask him first ” Yoda, show me which one you want ” after which he proceeds to sniff the cans and rub his head on one, he wont eat it. These cats are such characters. He keeps me amazed and laughing all the time.
Banjo looks just like my winnie, spots & brown nose & all. She also plays fetch. It’s precious to watch.
gorgeous!!
welcome back dottcomm1,haven’t seen you post for a while.
Morning all, Banjo is beautiful with all his wonderful markings and that happy look on his face…
Banjo is absolutely adorable! Looks very much like Stubby. I love to scritch that belly!
Banjo’s markings are amazing, wow, I’ve never
seen anything like them, I’m sure he’s a joy
regardless but they certainly make him unique.
I think what you have there is an ocelot.
Let us know how big Banjo grows up to be!
*Snorgles Banjo before he can turn over*
A banjo on my knee FUZZ
White Tiger FUZZ
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream FUZZ.
I’M BACK.
Hey, Rosie. How are you doing?
Hi Rosie! It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you post.
I love Banjo’s spots and his dark little feet! I’m off today and so I get to chime in instead of being a silent evening lurker. Happy Sunday TDKers! ~DEBBIE~
Welcome, Debbie. Do you have any furry family members?
Yes, I have seven cats and one dog, all rescues.
Bless you for giving a loving home to so many furpeople! I’m curious about your screen name. Are you a recent transplant to Georgia?
Spots and Stripes Forever! I love the little grin on his face.
He looks like my TigerButt does when he’s dreaming up some more miechief!! What a cutie!
Hi Tiger’s mama,
Hope you and TigerButt are doing well and Bogman, with his new family.
Was it you, who said, that you liked coconut covered marshmallows? or was it Dee. Anyway, Saturday when I went shopping, I found chocolate marshmallows! And on the bag was a recipe for double chocolate s’mores. I thought, YUM!
It just made me think of someone on tdk who liked marshmallows. They now have strawberry marshmallows, too. They are tasty.
Hey, Renee! I love the coconut marshmallows–I never saw the chocolate or strawberry marshmallows! They sound great! I like putting them in the freezer–extra chewy!
Hi Dee!
I also found some chocolate Twizzlers. I bought a bag of them and chocolate marshmallows to try. They both smelled good. I didn’t see them last weekend. I smelt them before I seen them! lol
Beautiful kitty! Looks very content and happy in his forever home.
ohhh…. how precious.. cute cuddly little baby
*snuzzles the cute spotted belly enjoying the kitty purrs*
Would make a lovely coat, well a glove. Hhmm how much?
Cruella DeVille?
He does have a happy smile!
Love the spotty belly!
It’s just past noon here on a cloudy showery, but nice and cool, Sunday. Hope you all have a nice day.
Banjo is a lucky little boy to be rescued and have a loving furrever home. He is certainly cute and looks completely content and happy with his new family.
Susie in CA - I hope you are having a better day today. I understand the awful feeling of the “blue funk” and the not being able to dig out of the deep dark pit. Can the doctor give you anti-depression meds? The only thing that helps me is Prozak. Just had my dosage increased which seems to be helping most days. If you ever need moral support you can reach me at elene1 @ comcast . net.
MerD - Editor-in-Chief - I think the book idea for fund raising is ideal for this group. I will contribute in every way possible.
–Thanks Elene–
It’s alittle better today thanks to the nice sunny weather here. I don’t have insurance,so no doctor to go to. I do have muscle relaxants left from when I was going for my alopecia areata(brought on by none other than stress in my case). But,don’t like to take them much. I just can’t get much done when I’m high on them. And too many kitties to tend to to be stoned out.
The stress probably will be high,at least until Wednesday, when my ol’man & I find out the extent of his prostate cancer. He has the barium tests done then. We’re both a nervous wreck.
Banjo’s little face did help me lots this morning
Susie,
Just want you to know that every single night in my prayers, I always include EVERYONE on TDK, asking for His guidance to those who have problems, health or otherwise, and good wishes to those who do such good work with their animals, and just overall love to all my TDK friends. Will request a little extra help for your and hubby tonight.
Love, Jimmie
Amend that last line to read “You and your hubby” please.
I also pray for TDK’ers on a daily basis. Because of my schedule I lurk a lot but as I scroll through the comments I say prayers for the needs I find for people and their furbabies. You are in my prayers Susie that all will be well.
That is what I do. As I read I offer up prayers for safety, comfort, praise, peaces,…the list is endless. God has blessed me to have found this site and the wonderful people that are here. So I share prayers for all.
As do I–all of you are a blessing, such a wonderful group of loving people.
Sorry to be posting so late–my fiance and I went for a last-minute trip to Flagstaff to get out of this miserable heat. Our wedding is going to be in upstate NY (St. Regis Falls) on 9/8/07.
Sending you prayers and positive energy that the test results show the cancer has been caught in time. I’ve heard that this type of cancer is one of the slowest growing cancers and very treatable. My kits and I are keeping all of our fingers and toes crossed!
Susie - I will pray that you and your man get good news from the tests and for strength to handle whatever may come. All your good work for God’s helpless creatures should have earned you some “brownie points” so you go ahead and ask for a special favor now.
Sending more prayers and healing energy to you and your husband. Hang in there!
