Joey

JoeyMulticool, Joey is the ultimate in baby kittens. His tail is broke at the very tip which only makes him super cuter.

What an adorable kitten! Love those blue eyes.

The tail is probably just kinked a little and not broken, which is very common in siamese cats. Check out the following info from this website: http://www.siamesekittens.com/hist1.html

“While the Siamese ‘Kinked Tail” has become a ‘fault’ it should be noted that in the early shows it was mandatory for a Siamese to have a kink in its tail to be considered a true Siamese. Over time this trait fell from favor and was bred out of the breed as much as possible. However it is so imbedded in the genetics that it still appears occasionally in some lines more than others.”

Once upon a time, when the sacred Siamese cats still lived in the royal palaces, they wanted to be of service to their royal owners.

So they sat on the dressing tables of the ladies of the royal family and when the ladies took off their rings and bracelets, they stuck them on the tails of the Siamese cats.

The cats were delighted to be of service, and in order not to lose the jewelery when they walked around, they kinked their tails at an angle. That is the reason why Siamese cats have a “broken tail”, like a safety catch on a bracelet.

I love that story! This little kitten is too cute. I’d have one if my fiancee weren’t allergic. :-(

I hope he has a long and successful life. My Aunt had a siamese that lived to be 25 calendar years.

he’s soooo cute, but looks like a house-full of trouble. Just like my siamese (who’s since passed on), he ruled the house with a throaty mrrow, and didn’t let anyone get away with anything (including the black lab). i can’t wait until i can bring another siamese kitty home! they’re so full of personality! here’s to a long and healthy life for your kitty.

oh my gosh! Joey looks like the identical twin to the stray KITTEN I took in in March! I only guessed it was a Siamese cat. They are? Any words of advice?
