A ragdoll kitty? What a gorgeous cat with such a forlorn look! It’s like she’s saying “Help?”
Oh, dur, Himmy. I can read.
Dulce - sweet.
What a pretty little softy!
Looks like my Percy when he was widdle ……… he is a small cat but a full on drooler LOL
Fuzzy and cute. Dolce reminds me of a little prize straight from a
carnival.
DOLCE is very handsome and has lovely coloring.
Have a good day one and all, cleaning up things at work before going home. ciao
Good morning/good night, AZ Deb. I hope you don’t have any trouble adjusting to your schedule change. Thanks for holding down the fort on the graveyard shift. Sweet dreams!
Awwwww. Is Dolce as sweet as the name?
Such a “will YOU love me?” look.
Hi, Kittenmogul! Hi, Alex!
Good news about that terrible “shelter” in Pahrump. The shelter manager had hoarded ANOTHER 114 cats and custody has been turned over to the county, who turned them over to Best Friends. The trial was pretty contentious but the cats finally won. http://network.bestfriends.org/nyecounty/news/18321.html
Let’s hope that this makes a precedent for hoarding cases.
Whew! Hopefully this will make an impact. Thanks for posting the good news.
The TDK Breakfast Bar is now open. There’s stuffed French toast stuffed with cream cheese and topped with your choice of peaches, strawberries, blueberries, apples, or pears; maple-flavored bacon, apple/chicken sausage, soy sausage alternative (for the vegetarians among us), scrambled eggs with cheese, mushroom/cheese omelets, hash browns, hash blues (made from the All-Blue potato, a potato with indigo skin and lavender flesh), honey-glazed ham (are you up, Huddy’s Mama?), whole-wheat buttermilk biscuits with white gravy, French vanilla tea, and Moet & Chandon mimosas. Who wants eats?
Great minds think alike, Vicki! I’ll try your stuffed French toast with strawberries on top, bacon and eggs.
Oh joy! Mere reading of the menu makes my tongue water and eyes shine - not to mention my belly which quietly purrs right now.
Oooh, the vanilla tea for me, hash blues, and French toast, please! After that’s inside, then mimosa time.
I’m drooling. I had cereal for breakfast (and lunch when I realised I had nothing else in!!). Your menu sounds fabulous!!
Sounds yummy…… but where are you?!?!?!?
In beautiful, tropical Cleveland, Ohio.
CLEVELAND ROCKS!
Awhile back,a friend of mine from Ohio made me some tapes of a band that used to play from there. They’re name was “McGuffey Lane”"
I’ll never get rid of those tapes. Their music was so cool. I say ‘was’ because a couple of the band members are now dead & I assum, since I haven’t heard anything, that they have since disband(sp?)
*La Dolce Vita FUZZ*
Life must be sweet with Dolce! She has such an earnest expression on her sweet little face.
I brought breakfast today: Crepes filled with warm apple pie filling, french toast made with challah bread, chocolate filled croissants, eggs benedict, thick sliced bacon and lots of hot, strong coffee made with freshly ground coffee beans. Who wants some?
Ready an’ Willing!
I start with that coffee…
I’ll have the coffee and a croissant please. Coffee black with no sugar. It’s dull weather again today, but at least it isn’t raining ….. yet. It is forecast to arrive soon.
And I said September might be better. Phooey!!
Polly’s Mum, have a look at metcheck.com - I don’t know what part if the UK you’re in, but here (Midlands) things are looking up Tuesday onwards!!!
I have to take a nibble on some chocolate croissants and some Eggs Benedict, but I’ll pass on the coffee. I worked at a coffeehouse in my early 20s; I’ve had more than enough coffee to last ten lifetimes.
I’m a coffee adict to rival Great Dane, but I can’t stand instant. I can smell it as it comes within 10 feet of me and it makes me feel ill. I try to limit myself now to 4 or 5 cups a day (sorry I mean mugs, of course).
Heh heh, me too Polly’s mom …
I RUV coffee!!!!!
… and today’s kitten too!
Have a great Holiday Wkend, TDKERS!
Good morning/afternoon/evening TDKers!
I’m off to work for Lancome. Last day of the free gift with purchase! I believe it is the same all over the country, so don’t miss out–especially since the cosmetic bag that comes with it is a leopard print. Perfect for Cat people!
Have blessed day everyone!
Debbie
What a cutie..headed out to the airport, had to get my kitten fix first.
Everyone have a great weekend. Be safe out there!
Here’s kind of a cute story..very lucky kitty i must say..
Thank you Sir for finding him..
http://www.cbs46.com/news/14023650/detail.html
Well done, Mr. Vinson.
What a great story! Good people to rescue and take him in. I love the video and how the kitten is enjoying the attention.
Thank God a GOOD story!!! Amen Mr. Vinson
Poor little kitty, so glad it was rescued. Such a sweet little thing, just enjoying the attention and probably happy to be rescued.
That’s just up the road! Goodness!
Awwww—that’s the kind of story we need to see after the horrors lately.
What a great story! Brought tears to my eyes!
I was in Acworth Georgia last night, having dinner! I wonder if Mr. Vinson is single? My kind of man.
*happy dance*
A thriller with a happy end. That kitten is so adorable and the men in the story are both kind and caring. It really lifted my mood.
What an adorable little kitten. Dolce looks like a love-bug, and I hope you will have many years of kitty kisses from this dear baby.
Happy weekend everyone.
The best kitten impersonation of a stuffed toy I have ever seen. Look at those limp little paws! but why the kitten umbrage? Dolce is much too young to have such a little sourpuss face.
Perhaps being held up like that is an insult to her kitten dignity?
most definitely! all the necessary instincts vital to survival of kittens are already present in little Dolce - keen sense of smell, sharp eyesight, spring-like reflexes……. and most importantly, overpowering cuteness and a sense of enormous feline dignity easily offended that only quick action (and kitten treats) will remedy…..
Sad eyes, turn the other way, I don’t wanna see you cry FUZZ
Aren’t I cute when I stand up FUZZ?
Awwww - Dolce! Troppo dolce! She/He is sweet as can be. This little bearlet has awesome paws and a softest tummy. Excuse me but the tummy is all mine…
oh what an adorable little wake-up call!!! *snuzzles the bundle of fluffy cuteness*
Since everybody enjoyed yesterday’s story of my business partner getting the vacuum stuck to her head, I thought I would share another funny story which gives you all an idea of the mentality of the lady I have to work with.
This is a story that she told me, so I really doubt that she would be making this up — after all, why on earth would somebody make something like this up about themselves??!! My roommate, on the other hand, swears she had to be making this up. I’ll let you all be the judge.
Anyway, the story goes that Teresa (my business partner) was with her cousin when her cousin needed to put gas in the car. Her cousin went in to pay for the gas and asked Teresa to pump the gas. Teresa had never put gas into a car before and, going by what happened next, I guess she had never watched somebody else pump gas either. Teresa grabs the gas nozzle by the handle, holding down the ‘trigger’ in the process and stood there waiting for her cousin to come back as she didn’t know what to do next. I guess her cousin had already told her which button to press to select the grade of gas because, the minute her cousin finished paying for the gas, gas started spewing out of the nozzle and onto the ground. Instead of letting go of the trigger, Teresa starts waving the nozzle around in a panic while gas is spewing out all over everything around her — including her cousin’s car!!!
Now, the smart thing to do - other than to let go of the stupid trigger- would have been to hand the thing to her cousin when she came running back or to at least drop the nozzle on the ground. But this is Teresa we’re talking about. When her cousin got back to the car, she actually had to struggle to grab the thing away from Teresa because Teresa was still waving the gas nozzle around and panicking while gas is raining all over everything around her. Once her cousin got the gas nozzle away from Teresa and put it into the opening for the car’s gas tank, she turned to Teresa and said, “That is the last time I am ever going to let you pump gas!”
I have no idea if she made any other remarks regarding Teresa’s intelligence (or lack thereof) or not. I assume she might have but Teresa didn’t mention it. I know I would have - but then again, I wouldn’t have let Teresa anywhere near a gas pump and my car in the first place.
Pheww! Did you tell her not to run with scissors?
Run with them? If it were me I wouldn’t let her even anywhere near sharp objects…..or blunt ones….or…or…LOL
How does this woman find her way home at night?????
Any chance you could write a book or movie script about working with her? You could make a best-seller!
What a nightmare! My blesssings to you for what you may have to deal with in the future!! Hugs and Purrs, Lynn
What a cutie, Dolce is! Love the sweet face.
I thought this was cute. Here’s a video of two 4 week old meezers gently playing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMQ9sqXGmDE&NR=1
I hope this works.
There is also some meezer videos off to the right of the screen. Check out the one that says, 9wk old siamese playing with toy mouse. Also one called, We are Siamese… plays the siamese song with pics. So cute.
Oh dear, these statuettes are alive!
They are so beautiful!
What a cute ball of fur! Dolce has such a look of innocence!

Peace
Dorie
You are welcome! I, for one, like well-dressed food.
Dolce De Leche Fuzzz
Aw! Dolce is all cuddly and gorgeous!
I have had such a lazy day today it’s not true. I blame the monsters, they’ve spent most of the day curled up snoozing, and it’s been so difficult to resist joining them…
Still, managed to get Mum over for a few hours to see her cat, and then summoned up the energy to hoover. Now I’m back on the sofa again!!
Very talkative kitty, my babies were looking for him…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV71mpbvl-g&mode=related&search=
MerD-that was a great video. Molly was up behind my chair sleeping and she woke up when I turned on the video, and Max was asleep in the bedroom and he came all the way out to see “who was talking” to him. Now that kitty really did sound like he/she was saying “hello”.
I’ll have to keep that one and use it when I can’t find the cats–it’ll bring them around, huh?
Beautiful little Dolce, “sweet as sugar”. I’ll take ten!
Happy holiday weekend to all my TDK-mates!!!!!!
So did mine-woke them up & they came in!
All my troupe were enjoying their after dinner snooze and I played this video. Nap time ended for most.
Elene,
Chucky was asleep on his cat-traption he jumped up and ran and jumped on the desk looking into the speakers! I had to play it several times it was so funny!!!! Now he’s mad at me!

so nice!
**Cat gets high on drugs left over from dinner party**
Sep 1 03:08 AM US/Eastern
An agitated pet cat left in a cupboard overnight turned out to be high on cocaine and benzodiazepines left over from a wild weekend dinner party, a report said Saturday.
The eight-month-old Himalayan cat arrived at a veterinary clinic with dilated pupils and a racing heart, while the owner said it had trouble walking and was easily startled, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Vets Dominic Barfield and Richard Malik, who run a clinic in the Sydney suburb of Double Bay, were unable to take blood or use a thermometer to take the cat’s temperature as it was pacing incessantly around its cage.
While the owner was adamant the cat had not been exposed to toxic plants, mouldy foods or drugs, when contacted by telephone the owner’s wife admitted the cat could have licked “plates of cocaine” which had been served at a dinner party two days earlier.
A drug screen also revealed the cat had benzodiazepines in its system.
The “remorseful” owner, who was not identified, was counselled and allowed to take the pet home, but no legal action was taken as there is no legal requirement in Australia for vets to report such cases to police.
The case was reported in this month’s edition of the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, the newspaper said, but did not specify when the incident happened, other than that it was on a Monday morning.
**Minks freed from cages, farmers give chase**
Fri Aug 31, 2007 10:53AM EDT
HELSINKI (Reuters) - Farmers and other locals were chasing thousands of minks let out of their cages at a fur farm in western Finland early on Friday by suspected animal rights activists.
About half the 2,500 minks released from unlocked cages in Mustasaari, 400 km (250 miles) northwest of Helsinki, had been recaptured by 1000 GMT, but it could take several days to round up the others, police said.
“We have no firm suspects at the moment. But the letters EVR were spray-painted on a feed silo at the farm. In this connection it usually means Animal Liberation Front in Finnish,” Chief Inspector Mika Jylha told Reuters, but added: “Of course, anyone could write that.”
You know, I sympathize with their goals. Raising and killing an animal for food I can live with, but raising them and killing them for their skins I don’t like one bit. There are enough alternatives for warm coats.
But don’t they realize that the mink that survive kill local wildlife in great numbers and the ones that don’t survive tend to die terrible deaths?
You expressed my thoughts too.
These ‘fox girls’ as they are commonly called here get a lot of media attention but most people don’t take them seriously. They have passion and ideals more than knowledge and good judgement. Others use them to ridicule the whole ideas of environmentalism and animal protection.
awww fuzzy lil sweetheart

What a sweet, fluffy fur baby!
Beautiful eyes! May you have many happy years together!
Did everyone remember to go vote for Bob today - Gimpy made #1 for August, and we have the power to make Bob #1 for September.
http://www.arcamax.com/catsanddogs/galpic-37927?galfilter=bob
BTW - you can cast 5 votes each 24 hours and are allowed to vote for multiple pets. Last month I also voted for Bailey, the old dog who went to Rainbow Bridge, and of course Great Dane’s Bobster.
–And #1 he shall be–
That’s great about Gimpy getting August. There’s no doubt in my mind that Gimpy was a purrfect candidate for Cat of the month.
**Congradulations Great Dane & Gimpy**

Remember how far behind Gimpy was? Our votes put him at #1 very quickly, and Bob will be #1 for this month, I am sure! Go, Bob!
—anncetera & Kate the Grate–
In case your lurking & can’t post, I wanted tothank you for the info on the brewer’s yeast.
With the hot weather we’re having here, even putting the advantage on some of the outdoor cats that I can get close to,It doesn’t quite seem to be enuf. I’m going to try the yeast in the food thing, since none of them turn down wet food,& maybe that will take care of the problem.
Thanks again
What is the brewers yeast for? I also live in California (SFV)…. is it something to ease and abate heat for the kittys?
The Brewers Yeast is for fleas. It helps along with garlic! I use it in my dogs food as she goes out Chucky is an Indoor cat only!
Hope this answers your Question
Peace
Dorie
There’s conflicting advice on garlic; there are some who claim it is poisonous to cats, unless cooked.
If you’re having hot, dry weather, I’d highly recommend getting a big 8 or 10 pound bag of diatomaceous earth (DE), and finding a good place to dump it out (where the cats would be likely to dustbathe). To ensure the cats dustbathe, I’d recommend sprinkling catnip on top of that.
While they might inhale a small amount of DE, rolling around in it will act mechanically to get rid of fleas. It may take several days, but a generous amount of this dusted through their coats will go a *long* way toward eliminating fleas.
Good luck!!
Oh, and the diatomaceous earth needs to be food grade or horticultural grade (not the type used for swimming pool filters). It will be fine, much like flour. Completely harmless and nontoxic, though like any fine powdery substance, it’s unwise to inhale much or rub it into your eyes.
Where do you get it? I would love to try it on my ferals.
I got my diatomaceous earth at a local nursery/garden supply shop (Suburban Lawn & Garden in Kansas City). It’s definitely worth calling around to find. Otherwise, there are plenty of places to order online; just make sure you’re getting food grade or horticultural grade, not the kind used for swimming pools.
I’ll have to see if I can set up a good “dustbath” spot that my ferals will all share; easier said than done. Also, if it gets wet, it loses effectiveness, so make sure it’s in a spot where it will stay dry, or where you’ll replenish it after a rain.
only saying one word……..Beautiful
–How Wonderful–
My voting for Bob just now moved him up into third place
**GO BOB**
Susie
How do you tell what place there in?
