This is Nimbus, my four month old kitten. I got him from a friend who couldn’t keep him because he had asthma. He is so adorable and loves being cuddled.

    Hi Catherine -
“When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May…”
Do you remember when John Belushi did a skit on Saturday Night Live and played Bethoven? He was stuck on writing a song on the piano and kept hitting 2 notes. He put them together in various rythms till he came up with that song! He proceded to shout the words in a heavy German accent. It was hillarious - still remember it vivedly to this day!

    Howdy TDK Family:

I REMEMBER THAT!! Though when you consider what a stoner I was back in those days, it’s amazing.

Didin’t he also do “baby what I say” by Ray Charles? Or am I remembering something that didn’t happen?

Worst SNL moment for me was when they had the giant lobsters attacking. My friends and I were so wasted we thought it was real!!!

    Ahh nostalgia!

Good morning all, I’m fresh from getting my shots so I’m loopy and probably won’t be on a lot, or maybe I will.

This is a very adorable looking kitty. I can imagine him being a real cuddler.

    *hugs to bob*

Yes I remember that bit with Belushi as Beethoven doing “What’d I say”. It was too funny. Also loved the Samurai Taylor, etc series. That was a scream.
Thanks to all for the prayers for my dad for his broken hip. He’s had his operation and is already in rehab. I really don’t know if he’ll walk again but it’s gone pretty well for a man of 86 years. Would appreciate continued positive thoughts and prayers.
    Thanks

Ahhh, Huddy’s Mom, those were the days, weren’t they? I can barely remember the actual incidents of those stoner days, but the general feeling and atmosphere are still very vivid in my (somewhat drug-addled) mind.

If you want to relive those days, I suggest a trip to Vancouver, B.C. Still the same kind of “vibe” as back in the day, and the relaxed times of the pre-Nancy Reagan-”just-say-no” era, just before the god-awful repression we have to deal with now.

Hope everyone is having a good day; Susie, my thoughts are with you constantly, as are my prayers. Think about coming to visit with me for a weekend, to get away from everything. I have room, spare time and lots of cats. Take care of yourself, my friend.

    Kate

Ha ha! The original Saturday Night Live was my absolute favorite show at that time. Saturday nights were planned around being able to be home in time to watch. And yes, I do remember watching it through the haze of a certain type of smoke! I also remember John Belushi doing ‘What’d I Say’ - and all the rest. Great times. I’ve looked into getting DVD’s of those shows, but somehow I don’t think my British husband would get it. ;-)

Why would that be difficult, Pipa’s mum? There are so many taste experiences to savor. Like the difference between light and dark chocolate. I prefer honey made from orange blossoms to clover honey since I grew up in Florida. I find it lighter and sweeter. Clover tends to be a dark flavor that I fail to appreciate. I don’t what bees out west make their honey from. But I’d like to find out.

In Michigan one of our “specialties” is cherries. There is a local company up north - Cherry Republic - who makes almost every foodstuff that you can think of, with a cherry twist. Their cherry almond butter is SO good - I will offer that for breakfast (along with cherry syrup for the waffles). They also make cherry pecan butter. They ship all over the USA - and maybe even international!

Ooh sounds delicious Anncetera. I would like some please. Drinking a Scharffenberg Mocha Freddo here (ice blended mocha) with whip cream. We have a large fire just south of San Jose in the town of Morgan Hill. The whole Bay Area skies are smoke colored. The sun this morning was red. It was also very warm last night. Had my window fan going all night which is a first this summer. Temps in the low 80 to mid 80’s yesterday and it is 62 degrees right now where I work but will get up to 78. Missing the fog.

Still waiting on Nintendo and Adobe. Guess the deciding folks took the week off. Growl!

One day closer to the weekend! Yay! Sylvester says hi to everyone. He was such a lovebug last night and this morning coming up and headbonking me a lot last night. Such a cutie he is. Just have to share this one.

Hubby mentioned that I missed the 5:10am hairball this morning. Good thing too, because I’ve had difficulty sleeping lately, particularly from about 4:30 to alarm time. Guess it evened out though; I dealt with the spontaneous projectile vomiting last night (yes, on the carpet) from the other one just as I was sitting down to enjoy a cheesy pizza (yesterday was national cheese pizza day - good excuse to have pizza). So after I got over my own queasynous, made sure the old boy was ok, I did enjoy that pizza!
