Olivia-De-Purrs-A-Lot

Location: Ft. Myers, Florida, United States

Olivia

Olivia is about four months old. I adopted her from the Siamese Rescue website. She is a Lynx-point and is one of the most sweet and loving kitten I have ever had. She joined our household and is tearing through the house with her new sister, Scooter, my four year old Blue Point siamese and her other sister, nine year old Brownie, my seal-point Tonkinese. She and Scooter race all over and then everyone ends up on the bed with my husband and I and under the covers she and Scooter go! They both sleep up aginst me and when I roll over, they both follow me. Olivia loves to “supervise” whatever I am doing and here she is sitting in the crook of my arm as I was playing a game on my laptop while laying in bed. This photo was taken with the camera in the laptop lid with Photo Booth on my Mac. She loves the computer and if I leave the top up and walk away, she will get up and lay on the keyboard. Sometimes she just goes to sleep but if she can make it make funny noises, she will “dance” on the keyboard… yooo hooo!

She has added so much joy into our home and is awonderful addition. We lost our beloved Xena and after a few months decided to add another furbaby to give Scooter a playmate and so she would leave Brownie alone!

Hi HM -
Yeah, every time I stop in here, my boss comes in my office, sigh. I have the toggle finger ready to bring up another program! I don’t think he understands the necessity of gazing at beautiful kittens as they are stress reducers, thereby making me a more productive worker (are you buying this?!).

Hey Pipa’s Mum - have a great evening!

(by the way, it took me 10 minutes to write this, dang work getting in the way!)

LOL @ the toggle finger. I do that quite often. I know my boss can see me looking in here sometimes, but he doesn’t really say anything. I’m kinda lucky though, my boss told me he doesn’t really care what I do as long as my work gets done.

What a beautiful little girl kitten. We had one called Greta (after the late great Greta Garbo) who would put her little paws over her eyes and you could just see “I vant to be alone.” (said in the wonderful accent that Miss Garbo had.)

beautiful Siamese and such a cute expression. You can tell what a lovely personality she has too. My Siamese, Pad Thai loves to sit near me when I’m on the computer and will climb up on my shoulder for a nap.

2007-09-12 16:19:08

Pad Thai? What a FANTASTIC name for a Meezer!

I guess if I got a male meezer, I’d have to name him Tom Ka Gai, for my favorite Thai dish–coconut-milk soup embellished with chicken, mushrooms and scallions. Horrible for the cholesterol, but incredible on the tongue!

Olivia De Lovely is what she is !!! What a thoughtful look and darling pose. So glad to hear she has some playmates. Lying down on the laptop - what is it about kitties and keyboards - they want to be right where Mom is in action. Lynx point - a beauty and that you rescued her when she needed it - pure magic and serendipity.

She’s beautiful, nobody’s able to deny that, but I was hesitating while trying to pick up the right adjective. Majestic? Magnificent? Aristocratic? Sophisticated?

OK. She’s a majestic magnificent beauty, like a magnolia flower. I can’t recall bluer eyes than her’s. The paws are worth a hymn or two and I bet she has the silkiest fur.

BTW, do others see a prehistoric bird on her forehead instead of that supposed letter M?

MMM: You naughty girl! ;) I battle with one adjective and what do you do??? You throw me an other tricky one!!!

Uhh, I think her expression is gentle and understanding like her namesake’s in GWTW when she watches others’ games with a touch of obliviousness.

Phewww! Mayday mayday! A grammar alert! I ran out of adjectives!

2007-09-12 20:11:47

Ok, Ok, it’s a battle now! What’s the matter with “bemused”? It’s kind of a GWTW type word, isn’t it? Sort of a combination of bewildered and amused, maybe. Or maybe it’s just a condescending look, like “all right, let’s just get this picture taking thing over with”.

Comment by miu

Easy easy now… Put that Pu Dao down - put it away, please… So ‘bemused’ it is - what an excellent word it is. Bemused - tastes like wine and honey, a really remarkable word…
