Baby

This is Baby, my kitten from Peace Corps Moldova. As a kitten he followed me everywhere and slept on my neck. As he got older he became “top Cat” of the household by kicking out the stray male Tom and getting first dibs on chicken scraps. He would always come when called and cried for a squirt during the morning/evening milking.

Wow, Catherine, you beat me by only .11 seconds!

Have you ever seen pics of kitties getting squirted while someone is milking the cows? So cute!!!

Of course, there are few things kitties can do that aren’t cute.

Kitten of the Corn Fuzz???

2007-09-25 16:03:57

Aw, man, ya beat me to it.

Watch out, though, Catherine! I got cat-stigated last week for looking at a claw-bearing fuzzbut and comparing him to Freddy Kreuger! Living in Waco might open you to “strike two”!

Sometimes I think the tinier they come, the feistier they are. Those two rings at the very end of his tail are way too adorable!

that’s a beautiful picture. it would be appropriate for one of the arty-er, non-cheesy books or calendars. i don’t know where Moldova stands regarding bringing animals into the US from there. and if Baby was happy and safe where he was, moving him wouldn’t always be a good idea.
i moved back to the US from Denmark several years ago, and was happy to see that Denmark (as an EU country) was on the safe list - obviously the pet must be healthy and able to travel - but does not require extensive quarantine or isolation. this meant that i could move home with Freja, my beloved Danish tuxedo cat. She’s now been here for almost four years as an expat cat. :)

Baby is obviously a little survivor!

I can recommend “From Baghdad With Love”, the book about a soldier’s efforts to bring a canine friend home from Iraq. I know it’s about mere dogs, but still a moving story.

Rowan, so glad you brought Freja with you!
