Evie
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

This is Evie, my first kitten ever. She loved to take walks on the beach on a leash. She was a darling little girl with the funnest personality. Unforunately, little Evie was only with me for a short period of time as she died of congenital kidney failure at the tender young age of 10 weeks. But we certainly did live a lot of life during the short time we had together.

OMG!! Kitty on a leash! How cute!
She is jut too darling! I’ve seen other cats on leashes before, and always thought that they were really cute. It’s a shame that she didn’t live longer.
I am so sorry for your loss, but she knew so much love in a short period of time. She was beautiful.
How cute and how sad! My eyes are full of tears and I’m a grown man. I prey that all of our pets will be there in heaven when we make it. Amen.
Dear little Evie! I hope she’s enjoying herself in the Great Cat Toybox in the Sky. I’m glad she had some weeksw of love with you.
I’ll bet Evie is playing at the Rainbow Bridge with Chester and my Taco, whose story was much like Evie’s. It must be a sight to see!
Sometimes fuzzy angels are only with us for a short time, but they always have valuable lessons to teach us. Bless her, and bless YOU for giving her such a loving sweet life.
I echo what Siobhan has said above. I have tears in my eyes after looking at your kitty and re-reading your posting. So sad. I truly believe that cats are angels and come into our lives to teach us something important. God bless you for taking this kitty into your heart and showing it love even if it was for a short time. I hope Evie finds you again when the time is right.
And only fifty miles away from me. Looks like Lake Michigan in the background.
well bless you both. I hope you’ll find someone else real soon to share life with. Cats are just too much to miss out on.
Little kitty looks so cute on that big beach! I’m sure you will find her again at the rainbow bridge.
Evie is (was?) such a QT. She is now chasing crickets in the Garden of God.
Oh, what a beautiful kitty! So sorry you had such a short time with her but I am glad you were able to enrich each other’s lives and have some fun. My first thought when I saw this pic was WOW, a cat on the beach! When hubby and I go to the outer banks of North Carolina, we always talk about what it would be like to have the fuzzy boys with us.
Rest In Peace, dear Evie, and play with all your friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
Evie what an angel…I’m so sorry you had so little time together but so you filled both your hearts in that time. Evie will be playing in the sand at Rainbow Bridge…
I love cats and that was sad.
How sad for little Evie, she was very beautiful. RIP Evie.
What a little darling. While she had a short life, it was filled with love that she gave and received.
Truly my prayers are with you. We lost our Little Jesse James only 11 days after we brought him home. He was a light in our life and always will be. As my vet told us, when your heart heals, Evie will bring a kitty baby to you that will be just right. Ours was Bullet & Sassy and yes, they are a perfect fit. Again, our prayers are with you.
You can read about our Jesse James at

I remember Jesse James - the little grey kitty, right? (I’ll check the link later to see if he’s the one I’m thinking of.) I’m so happy for you that Jesse James brought you Bullet & Sassy. So many kitties in the world, with just as many personalities. One will never replace another, but their love helps us move on to the next chapter in our lives.
She looks like the Master of Her Domain! I’m so glad you found each other, even for such a short time… Maybe she can play with my Kenshin at the Bridge.
Awwww, poor little Evie! What a gorgeous picture. Bet she saw the beach as one giant litterbox!
Is it just me, or does Evie remind anyone else of Bob?
It is not just you. I thought of him too, FH.
RIP little Evie. I can’t quite figure out the exact location, but yes that is the Lake Michigan beach (it all looks kind of the same). I agree that to a cat the beach must look like a giant litter box!
RIP Evie and Jesse James. Love is not measured in years we spend together, sometimes a short encounter can leave lifelong memories.
She is such a sweetheart. I’m saddened that she had to leave with such a tragic ending. I’m glad you two had a great time together.
After writing this this morning, I actually cried. I went to hold my kitty and she just looks at me like what’s wrong?
Kitties are great.
what a sweet little kitten, looks so lost and precious in that lakeside setting…and what an utterly heartbreaking ending to your story. Cats are like people I guess, they’re here as they’re here and it’s up to us to appreciate them while we can.
Bless her little heart…I’m sorry you only had a short time with her. But glad you made the best of it. She’s just precious…I love that she liked to walk on the leash. My cat crouches like a tiger when we put a leash on him…very funny. I hope your next cat is just as precious and full of life like Evie.
-One cat lover to another
Nothing we love ever dies.
…they only pass into our hearts, which are the portals to the Seat
of All Creation. Amen to that,Emma!! Evie is romping and playing
on the Rainbow Bridge right now!! What an exceptionally beautiful
lil’ puss she must have been here on Earth. When I took my first look at this picture it made me think of the movie “Summer of 42″
for some strang reason, and I hadn’t even yet read the story beneath!! Wow. Thank you,Evie’s keepers for sharing and touching us with your story. God Bless you.
What a sweet angel. She’ll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you.
Evie does look like Bob, I think, FondaHonda.
Awww, what an adorable little kitty. Sorry for your loss.
Oh wow! This little kitty sounds like a sweetheart. I am very sorry for you loss. You were blessed to have her even for a very short time. She is watching over you now and is at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other kitties. In time, your grief will lessen and hopefully you will find another kitty to love.
Please read my other posting up above. It conveys better as to what I meant to say. Fingers move too fast and the brain doesn’t get a chance to think. Sorry.
I am so sorry that you lost your friend. I am sure she will be waiting for you. What a sweet little kitty.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Evie looks like she was not only adorable but as sweet as sweet can be. Take some comfort in knowing that she knew how much you love her. Now she is the little kitty angel on your shoulder.
Beach Bum FUZZ
Gone too soon FUZZ :/
Poor little kitty cat…….
Thanks to You for making her short time a good time.
There is a special place upstairs for people like you…..
And that place is full of kittys
How sweet that you were able to give Evie some wonderful love in her short life. She will always be in your heart.
This sweet little angel was obviously loved during her brief time here. Bless her family for taking care of her.
Your sweet Evie is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge with all of ours who are there too. She will always have a piece of your heart which can never be replaced, but I am sure she has opened the door for you to love another when the time is right! She may have been your first kitty but I hope she won’t be the last. **wipes away tears**
I have an Evie also. On Christmas Eve of 2005, I went to a shelter to give a donation. They had the most precious furrball there. She was a Katrina kitten rescued from Piccaune, Miss. Even though I already had four cats, I just had to have her. We brought her home and named her Merry Christmas Evie. I’m sorry your Evie had such a short life. I believe you will be together again someday. I also lost a friend after only a short time. My Patchie kittie was very special to me. I brought her home the day we burried my grandmother. After only three days, she had a brain hemorage and passed. I like to think that she is keeping my grandmother company. We will all be together someday.
I keep coming back to this picture of that little bitty cat.
She seems to be haunting my thoughts this afternoon……
As soon as I get home from work Im gonna pet all 3 of our cats(Dooley age 18,Gidget age 6 and Baby age 11) till they say enuff. There will be catnip, followed by treats, followed my Naps on the couch.Everyone should take an extra few minutes for kitty time today, just for little Evie………
I keep coming back to this sweetie as well.
So precious.
So sad you had her such a short time. I had one - my first Balinese Spyder Mite - who was sickly and died way too young, too.
Glad you had such a rich short time together.
Bless you both.
Hugs and purrs.
She looks like she’s in a GIANT cat box! What a precious little angel!

omg soooooooooooooo sad i am terribly sorry for your loss

Evie is a gorgeous and sweet girl and it sounds like you had a wonderful life together. i’m sorry it was so short. i hope you find it in your heart to welcome another kitty in…they are all sweet angels that make life worth living
Such a sweet little kitty angel. She looks so tiny in this picture!! I’m sure you miss her very much. I still have my first and second cats, and I avoid thinking about losing them. They send nose kisses to you.
At first glance, I thought to myself what a beautiful picture this is… I wish I could take Gali or Max out on the beach like that.
When I read the caption, it broke my heart. I am soooo sorry that Evie only spent such a short time with you. I’m also glad you made her time on earth as fun and pleasant as possible. I’m sure she is playing with Chester and Jerry, Teddy Bear, Roo, and all the other TDK cats/kittens.
I’m going to hug my two now.
So sorry, peace be with you.
Did not Heavenly Father make the most beautiful animals?
Life is forever and in Heaven we will have all our kitty cats
that we loved here and MORE!!
I am,

Hello:
I’m sorry you had so little time together to enjoy one another. Its once again a sad lesson on not taking anybody for granted in life and to enjoy them while we have them each and every day. You know this though by saying how you lived a lot of life together. Now indeed she is at the Rainbow Bridge with God and many other furry friends to keep her company. In time you’ll get another purrfect friend. Not another Evie but a beautiful new kitty friend. When the time is right you may want to go to the local shelter and save one of the kittens or grown cats there. Take care and may many great days come to you.
Blessings,
bodhi cat
Such a precious little girl…too bad you didn’t have many years of companionship. May she rest in peace and she did have a short but wonderful life
I hope you will not let Evie be your last little kitty. All cats have their own personality, and they love attention.
I am sorry about the loss of Evie, she is getting her glory!
Rest assured, that this little one of God’s innocent, sleepily suns himself on heavens window sill
Reminds me of when my sister found a sickly stray kitten that got named Bartok (the bat in Anatasia) because of his white fur & large ears. He was given the best care available, but sadly died early one morning from anaphylactic shock.
Oh, so adorable and sweet! Made my eyes fill with tears when I read about her passing. My dear Mitsy passed away four years ago and I still get teary-eyed when I think a lot about her. I receive comfort knowing I’ll see her in Heaven one day, as she’s safe with Jesus.
Poor little Evie! My little gray kitten Gracie is sick at the vet right now, and, bizzarely enough, I’m also from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’ll be thinking of you — you have my sympathy!
