Hello Jo! It’s the poster formerly known as tigerpaw(TPFKAT! lol)
H’waya,my dear friend? Ain’t Butternut the butteriest AND nuttiest?
He’s sayin’,”…the stuff LOOKED cozy from inside! WHERE’S the door??” Hey everyone!! Happy Saturday!
Is Butternut in the midst of a paw shake? Our cat used to do the same thing, beg and beg to be let outside and then stand in the open doorway and sniff the air while the freezing wind blew snow into the house. One day my dad got fed up and tossed him into the powdery snow bank near the door. He disappeared completely, with only the tip of his tail sticking straight up out of the snow. He bounded out of the bank, shook all four paws and then ran back into the house. Needless to say, he never begged like that toi be let out in the winter again!
Awww, there’s nothing cuter than a kitty in the snow, even if he doesn’t like it. I used to bring the snow in for Gali. Unfortunately, it hasn’t snowed since I’ve had Max.
Very pretty boy!
Aww, little Butternut is so cute. What a beautiful fuzzball. Wonder if he’ll get used to snow as he gets bigger?
Reminds me of the time Moki went out in the snow and was totally mystified, but tentatively took steps, shaking each paw off as he went. He was so funny. Lacey on the other hand just leaps through like a white and gray snow bunny. She is fearless and knows how to negotiate any weather to stay as dry as she can (stays behind bushes next to the house). We get only a couple of inches snow, and it usually doesn’t stay long.
Poor Butternut, He needs to find the”Door Into Summer”.
This photo reminded me of one of my favorite Science Fiction Stories.
It opens with the following:
“I have spent too much of my life opening doors for cats - I once calculated that, since the dawn of civilization, nine hundred and seventy-eight man-centuries have been used up that way. I could show you the figures.
While still a kitten, all fluff and buzzes, Pete had worked out a simple philosophy. I was in charge of quarters, rations, and weather; he was in charge of everything else. But he held me especially responsible for weather. Conneticut winters are good only for Christmas cards; regularly that winter Pete would check his own door, refuse to go outside because of that unpleasant white stuff beyond it (he was no fool), then badger me to open a people door.
He had a fixed conviction that at least one of them must lead into summer weather. Each time this meant that I had to go around with him to each of the eleven doors, hold it open while he satisfied himself that it was winter out that way, too, then go on to the next door, while his criticisms of my mismanagement of the weather grew more bitter with each disappointment.”
THE DOOR INTO SUMMER by Robert Heinlein.
I am sure Butternut thinks you are horribly mismanaging the weather there.
I’ll go along with you, sweet Butternut, I don’t like snow either.
Shake off your paws and go back inside where it’s warm and toasty!
Fuzz overload!
Holy Mackerel! Here it is after 12 and no one has posted yet! Is everybody watching football today?

AAWW! Butternut, you are such a cute and fluffy fella!
My cats don’t like snow much either.
Butterball says “This snow is too DISGUSTING!”
**takes Butterball to snuggle by open fire**
That must have cured Butternut of the urge to go outside. I’d love to hold the little furball in my arms to warm him up. What a cutie!
