We adopted Oreo from a neighbor who rescued a pregnant stray female. She gave birth to four really, really cute kittens. My daughter got to pick a kitten for her birthday and went straight for Oreo. He has now been with us for seven years and has been a truly wonderful member of our family. He has two black and white cousins also named after snacks… Ring Ding and Yodel.

Puffball kitty! I met another cat named Oreo once. A Native American potter was having an open house at his studio, and as I was looking around at slip-cast slab pieces in progress, Oreo walked into the studio. The potter told me that sometimes Oreo walked across the wet slabs, and the potter left the pawprints in.

This precious fur baby looks so much like the “Oreo” that lives a few houses away. Yes, this one’s name is also Oreo. I don’t think his owners feed him enough as he comes over almost every day for some food. God bless both these kitties named ‘Oreo.’
