In fact, I just finished fostering eight unweaned (one-week old when we got them!) puppies who were going to be put down. As for Purrl, though, she's beautiful, fat, happy, and *alive*. I couldn't love her more! :) I cried a river when my hubby and I finished fostering her (we got her at 3 weeks and just delivered her, at 10 weeks, to her new forever home, AKA my husband's parents). I could only give her to family members, since the thought of never seeing Purrl again would devastate my husband and me. Thanks to all for the very kind words!
