Kitty
Location: Elko, Nevada, USA

My husband is allergic to cats, and it was right after my mother had passed away that I learned the neighbor had been blessed with a batch of five kittens. All summer they romped and stomped in my yard, ruining the flowers and shrubs. Regardless, my children and I loved having them around. As soon as I realized their worth for bringing sunshine into a gloomy time of my life, they disappeared. But I will always remember them, and am thankful for the smiles they brought.

Awwww
Hey I’m first! And I wasn’t even trying.
You know, there are medicines for allergies. He should look into them. I have some allergies too and with some common sense precautions like not rubbing my eyes after petting cats, I have enjoyed a year and a half of having my own pair of kitties.
Finally, I want to announce it my big kitty’s, Sarge, presumed birthday. He was abandoned in Febuary 2006 and I adopted him Sept 2nd 2006 so I combined the two events for his special day. He seems very happy that he’s living with me.
Happy presumed Purrday, Sarge!
Happy Birthday Sarge and mannnnyyyyy more!
Happy Birthday Sarge!!
Hey Jason, how about some pictures of the birthday boy?
He has some pictures here Sarge’s Catster Profile on Catster. I gave him some canned cat food as a gift and he got to go outside. (Yes I know it’s freezing here after the big snow storm, but he insisted. But he stayed on the sidewalk and away from the snow for the most part.)
Pounce! You are fast Jason..
Awwww! I need to buy those seeds.
Awwww, is right. You are a catperson! What a cutie Kitty is.
This one is so precious - I wish they all got wonderful forever homes.
Wow, he is so beautiful! So good to hear that the kittehs brought you some sunshine in a difficult time!
I’m a little worried that they all disappeared suddenly. I hope they weren’t taken to Animal Control. If they went one by one you could assume they were adopted out to new homes, but all to go at once?
This guy should be named Riley,he’s sure livin’ the life!

It sounds like their neighbor who’d had this batch sprung on him/her farmed them out to adoptive homes if they all disappeared at once. The woman was delighted to have these fuzzys romping through a gloomy period in life.Fear not,Catwoman, somehting tells me the babies are safe & loved!
Kitty looks right at home in that flower pot! You are blessed to have taken the good from your time with these babies instead of being
resentful of their ruining your flowers.

What a peaceful look Kitty has. I’m with miu & would also like to buy those seeds. It astounds me how you got such a beautiful picture of Kitty. Mine are a constant moving target.
I agree with Jason…there are lots of meds these days that hubby could try. A home isn’t a home without a kitten in it to warm our hearts.
*Happy Purrday Sarge!
What a great fix for this GLOOMY Saturday….
Guarding the flower…Fuzz
Wish all the best…. KittenJunkie
A garden full of fur babies!
is there a nursery somewhere that has potted kittens? i need to find it.
I agree with Catwoman and am worried that they all disappeared. But we will be optimistic and pray that all found good and loving homes.
Now, like Miu and CCM I am off to the nursery to get some of those plants!
I hope all those sweeties are OK.. This little one is a beauty.
Awwwww… I sure hope they’re okay.
Have you thought about getting a Sphinx? I spoke with a woman who said she was allergic to cats until she got a Sphinx. No allergies and she started breeding them. I can’t imagine my life without at least one cat. My husband is also allergic to cats among other stuff. He got shots for a while; took meds for a while; and finally just grew accustomed to being stuffed up. I operate under the “love me, love my cats” system.
I have met a few Sphinx cats.. they’re great cats! They have “peach fuzz” and they feel like warm chamois cloths!
This is a bittersweet post…I am so worried that all the kitten suddenly disappeared.
I too am allergic and have 7 kitties! There is good over the counter medicine such as Claritin, plus after a few months, I develop a tolerance to the new kitty. Sphinx are supposed to be hypoallergenic as are the Devon and Cornish Rex. The other solution that apparently does help is a weekly bath to reduce dander which is the allergen. I also recently read an article of a hypoallergenic cat that is being bred for low dander…I can’t recall the name.
I pray that the garden babies found good homes.
What a wonderfully playful little guy Kitty is!!!
It’s pics like this that makes you want a whole herd. Wherever Kitty is today, I hope he’s having a wonderful life! Thanks for sharing this moment with us..

Ha ha ha ha!
You got that right!
Oh, what a sweetie! So glad he was able to help you through a tough time. That’s just what kitties are meant to do!
There is also a product called Aller-Pet
http://www.allerpet.com/
that you rub onto cats and dogs. My son became horribly allergic to our 20 lb cat, eyes blinking and red all the time. After one rubdown with the Aller-Pet he never had a problem again. It is nothing more than a hair and skin conditioner. Just use it once a week. Even if the cat washes after (all that spiky fur must be smoothed) it still works. Our vet checked it out, perfectly safe for the kittehs.
Hope this helps.
hmm, gotta get me some of that ………… Aller-Pet, eh? now just have to convince my hubby-to-be we need a cat in the house…one like Kitty, all pretty and grey, lounging in the planter
What a sweet picture! I, too, hope they all found good homes.
I’m glad that they were able to help you through tough times.
I hope they were at least taken to a no-kill shelter to find them homes. A kitty is known to relieve stress, high blood pressure, depression, etc. You need to get one of your own, as said, there are remedies.
Plant your kitty bulbs early for gray pussywillows in the spring!
aww kitty is so sweet and adorable. i hope they all went to good homes. i hope you can have your own kitty someday they certainly do bring a lot of joy to a household
Awww! Look at lil’ chubby in the potted plant! He looks completely relaxed……like he’s in the tub! What a cutie!
