If you look at her expression, Lily is DETERMINED to make it and she WILL! What a GREAT attitude! I bet she will be a wonderful cat for your household. She can do anything she puts her mind to, because of what she’s been through. What a beautiful face! God bless you, Lily Whiskers, have a FANTASTIC life–you deserve EVERY minute of it!!!!

Sometimes I get tired of the cleaning and the money spent and I wonder why I spend time and money and energy doing animal rescue. Then I see a little one like Lily Whiskers and it reminds me it’s because we are the stewards of all things living, and it is my responsibility to take care of every little one, or big one, who crosses my path.

It’s people like Lily’s protectors, and animals like Lily, who keep me motivated to keep going, keep stopping the car every time I see an animal in need, going into abandoned houses to rescue mommas and babies, and educate, educate, educate everyone I can about spay/neuter.

Thank you Miss Lily, for reminding me.

I can’t get this kitty out of my thoughts. I even printed her picture and have it at my desk. That sweet face! Like most people here, I shudder at the horrors she experienced and do not understand the sickness that grips people and allows them to hurt animals and / or people. Thank goodness she was rescued, loved, given medical care. Thank goodness she knows she is loved, and that she can now be bossy and sassy and spoiled. Her rescue restores my faith in humanity. I wish I could give her lots of hugs and kisses and pets, but I trust her family does that every day I believe I will always have her beautiful little face in my mind somewhere. Her image has become representative, and inextricably linked with both good and evil. Just a little baby girl kitty - that’s a lot to put on those teeny shoulders.

I’ve been visiting this site for months now. However, after seeing Miss Lily Whiskers, I felt absolutely compelled to register and voice my thoughts. I, too, shed tears when I saw her beautiful little face. And IMO, spent a minute too long thinking about what exactly happened to her. I can only thank whoever found this little gem, the team of vets who saw to her recovery, and the wonderful, lucky individuals who can now call her a member of the family. Lots of warm wishes for many years of happiness together!
