Omri
Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

This is Omri on his first day home. Being the animal lover that I am I stopped by the local animal shelter to socialize the cats there. That was my first mistake… I see a little white fluff ball being suckled on by his littermate and picked him up. He had a cold and had a runny nose and runny eye. After telling the staff they said they would have to euthanize him. I had to have him. He stayed at the vet for a few days and then has been with me ever since. He is now five years old and loves to eat, annoy his big sister Ollie, perch on my shoulders while I’m on the computer, and play with his fish.

Good Monday Morning TDKers!
Pounce!
Marvelous Monday, TDKers!
Awww, how sweet of you to save him!
Thank you for saving this beautiful boy…
How fortunate you came to save the day by going to the shelter and saved this sweet guy’s life. He looks calm in the picture, but cat’s are good at deceiving people with the look of innocence.
I’m so glad you rescued this little cutie! How sad that a kitten with a runny nose doesn’t even get a chance unless God sends a human angel.
No wonder you couldn’t resist this little guy… I think I’m falling in love again.

What a cutie! I’d have to have him too! Can I borrow him for a little while for a cuddle and kiss?
Thanks for saving his life and congratulations for a stunning boy. Is he as sweet as he looks?
What a beautiful kitten and how lucky was he that you happened by!! Little Omri has a great New Mexico city to live in - I have spent lots of happy time in Las Cruces!
Today’s Useless Trivia:
Anyone else remember who played John Ross Ewing III (JR and Sue Ellen’s son) on Dallas?
I kid you not: Omri Katz!
The scary thing is that I remembered that…. 8o
Ginny–you spend too much time in front of the TV! LOL! I was a big Dallas fan, never missed an episode, but did not know this one!
Blues eyes again!! Thank you for saving this cute little meezer. I think I’ll redo my will and leave some money to my local animal shelter for when I’m no longer around to rescue precious babies.
A great idea!
THU-PLOOF, indeed! This little guy is truly gorgeous! Bet you didn’t even know you were a guardian angel, did you?
Great outcome to a very distressing situation. Hopefully they kept an eye on Omri’s littermate to keep whatever crud was going around in check.
Beautiful boy! Glad you were there when you needed to be for his sake! I wish I could save them all, makes me sad that any have to perish for want of a home that cares for them.
Awe! So glad you saved him. Sounds like fate to me
Another heart warming story for us kitty lovers to enjoy. What a cute kitty, as well!
Siamese mix? He looks really similar to Cato in his youth
Pretty boy

Omri is so cute! It’s a beautiful thing you did when you went to the shelter that day and discovered him. Thank God for people like you. I wish they could all be saved. For Omri..It was fate! Headbonks and scritches to the kitty behind that adorable little face!
What a good story. I hope you have many happy years togrther.
Omri makes me want to go out and get another kitten.
Born and raised in NM, I lived in Las Cruces for 6 years going to NMSU and still have family there! I am glad you took this little guy in, too many die for silly reasons like a kitty cold.
What a beautiful, blue-eyed baby! So sad that he would have been put to sleep just because he had the sniffles! Thank you for saving this precious darling!
Omri is just precious! Wow, imagine that - euthanization for having a cold. Thank you for saving him!!! A little love and attention are repaid so bountifully, anyone who can, should adopt at least one l’il fuzzbutt (I’m still workin’ on the better half… for when we get a bigger place… a house becomes a home when it has a cat or two….right?)
Congratulations for saving your sweet Omri. What a darling meezer!
Upper respiratory infections can lead to complications and even death in young kittens. If the animal shelter had facilities to take care of sick animals, and/or volunteer foster homes for them, they wouldn’t have to put down the sick ones. So it pays to give generously your money and time to your local animal shelter!
Arizona Humane Society has a “second chance hospital” for just this situation–they don’t euthanize unless absolutely necessary. That’s why I donate there. Bless you for saving him! I am sure it was a divine plan or fate or whatever you believe in that brought you there at the right time.
I’m glad you saved this precious boy!
I like his name, too.
Aww….glad you too him in and under your wing! Bet he’s a bundle of joy!
Gorgeous kitten! But has Omri grown into his ears?

One more gorgeous little darling cheats the big litter box in the sky, thanks to you. God Bless and Thank You.
it was definately fate that you rescued this sweet little meez! you are meant for each other. i can’t believe they’d put someone down for being sick. he just needed some tlc! bless you for taking him. he’s gorgeous!
bless you for rescuing this adorable baby!
He’s adorable! Good for you for rescuing him!
So glad the world has this Meezer! Thank you for saving this bright eyed little boy!
He is so small and soft and cute, looks like a stuffed animal. But we know he’s a real kitten, it would have been very sad if he was euthanized for something like a URI. Thank you for saving him and giving him a home.
nice save!!!!!
He’s a beauty. Aren’t blue points the best????
