What a beautiful Kaboodle! I love how you used a cat - contrasting blankie for them to pose on. So much easier to see!

A munchkin is a dwarf kitten. They were a spontaneous mutation, but think a kitten daschund!

Love the babies, they are so cute!

Munchkins is the name given to the breed of cat that appears to be an achondroplasic dwarf. That is they have normal size bodies but short limbs. Unlike human Acons they have normal size heads. Breeding the cats is quite controversial because the genetics causing the short limbs are Monozygotic Dominant and if you get two genes for the short limbs the combination is lethal. If the kitten is dizygotic (one gene for and one gene normal), it appears to be otherwise healthy. There is not a lot of study on if there are other problems like spinal or hip displasia like in dogs as the cats age.

The name Munchkin evokes the little people in the Wizard of Oz.

You are 100% correct! These guys came off of a farm where they have been seeing the Munchkins for a couple of years now…so at least they are not being bred on purpose. So far, they are all healthy and wonderful…but you never can know what the future will hold for these guys. I personally think it’s strange. The kittens are precious, but all kittens are. As adults, they kind of freak me out! Big cat bodies, short legs…very odd! It was a wonderful experience to foster these guys. They were all really wonderful kittens. I am sure they will grow up to be wonderful cats as well!

This is a beautiful group of kittens and I pray that they all are adopted into loving and caring furrever homes. God Bless you for providing a foster home for these beautiful creatures. :)

Note: Thanks to KittenMaster for posting this fostered group of kitties from Wi. I hope it’s witnessed by some loving people who’ll dash right over and adopt one of these beauties.

Actually two in my studio apartment is quite enough…Wish I had a bigger place so I could have a kaboodle of kittens around

Alvin’s color is officially called SABLE. It’s like a rich latte color. I was his foster mom, and made sure to forward this website to his new mommy! The last two kittens are here, getting picked up on Friday. I have one of the cow babies, the one with more black on his face-Mick; and I have one of the black kittens here, Mason. Both are so much fun! They are going to be very missed by me and my family! And now I have the next round of kittens…a pair of Chocolate Point Siamese boys who are so afraid they shake when they see me. And on Friday I have another 3 Siamese kittens coming as well. So meezer lovers, look out! I may just send in more pictures!

They’re kitten-y and silly,
A meezer and a “Hilly”
And siblings willy-nilly,
It’s Alvin’s family.

Their little foster cattery
Inspires a lot of flattery
And racing this-and that-ery
In Alvin’s family!

I think I have finally managed to get logged in after a considerable absence!

I love these kitties - I keep trying to pick “just one” and I can’t.
Maybe little Snowshoes right in front would be ideal, but how can I resist the others?
