Marco & Polo

Marco & Polo are so named because they got separated on their first day in our house, and one (Polo) started calling for the other (Marco). They are rescue kittens — born in our neighbor’s attic — and this picture is several months old now. They were very suspicious of people when they first joined us, but have adjusted nicely to having us human types around. They are still pretty much inseparable, and play together constantly. Their favorite toys are the small faux mice and the laser pointer. They especially love taking naps on laps, but of course insist on both being on the same lap. This makes for a bit of a challenge as they are rapidly growing to the point where they won’t fit on a single lap!

At first, I thought it was an oddly v-shaped kitten with two heads. Now I realize that it’s two kittens. They are very cute. They look very fuzzy though. Two kittens always = trouble. I bet they have loads of fun tearing around the house and playing with each other. Cute story about how they started calling for each other too!

So glad you adopted them both. Kittens are always better off when they have a playpal, especially a sibling. And as much fun as one kitty can be, two are much, much better.

One thing tho. They look totally alike (I mean IDENTICAL). So how do you know which is which?

They are nearly identical, but Polo has more white on his chest and a white-tipped tail. And they are developing different body styles as they get older — Marco is lean and mean while Polo is more fluffy. But we still put different color collars on them… it helps a lot. :-)

*AWW!!* What a couple of cuties! The one on the left looks sad and a little scared, but I’m glad they’ve adjusted to their new lives. How adorable!

Your babies are so adorable & sweet. It is nice that they are together, for playing and company!

We adopted an almost identical brother & sister, from our local shelter and they are absolutely inseparable. “Mojo” always calls to “Majic”, when he can’t see her close by. It does the heart good to see two creatures so devoted to each other!

My daughter’s socks and crinkly candy wrappers are fair game for our two!

So, if you open the toilet, do they just sort of hang on until you put the top down again? I can just see trying to get them both off of there at the same time - you pull one kitten off, and the other one jumps up again - you’d need three hands.
