Mocha

MochaMocha was adopted from SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) and she has become a very welcome member of our family. Though she is a little stand-offish and we wish she was more of a lap kitty, she brings joy to our house.

Beautiful kitty! I rescued an abused kitty 10 years ago. She was also a bit standoffish, but she eventually warmed up. It took 2 years, and now she is my little snuggle bug!

Peeking out from the kitty tent, it’s Mocha! She looks all snuggled up in that couch.

Mocha is so cute. I adopted a cat when he was 7. He was standoffish at first. He had been abused. Once he learned that we weren’t going to hurt him he came around. It took a while though. He turned into the sweetest cat. Just give him time and lots of love!

Mocha is so beautiful!

My kitty loves to be petted, curl around our legs, etc. but isn’t much of a lap kitty either…some just aren’t. You can be sure Mocha loves you, though!

We adopted a a kitten, Calvin, from a shelter, and he was a bit shy for a few years. As he got older, he became more comfortable with us, and eventually he liked sitting on my lap…as long as I didn’t move a muscle. His favorite kind of attention from me was a pat on the head. He’d sit up and rub his head into my hand.

So yes, non lap kitties do bring a lot of joy. He’s waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge now. I can’t wait to pat him on the head again.

I have two kitty adoptees of my own. They eventually turned out to be even better friends than my first. My first cat was a pure-bred silver chincilla. He was much more independent minded. Shadow, who we brought it as a sad little stray when we heard him on our backporch, now curls up with me every Sunday while I read the newspaper. I agree; Mocha will come around.

Mocha is so cute and reminds me of my Chuck. He is 2 yrs. old and was from a rescue group. He was kept in a closet in NYC when he was a kitten. When we first got him, he was in hiding most of the time, now he sits with us on the couch and is pretty friendly. And he gets friendlier every day. He is still a little wary… Can’t blame him though. He is an orange tiger with white paws and pink toes/nose. too cute.

Both of my cats were rescued! I wouldn’t trade either of them for all the gold in the world. They are both black and have totally different personalities. Salem is the lap cat and Samantha is standoffish. Having a cat is much better than a dog…you don’t have to walk a cat;) Before anymore misunderstands, I love all of God’s creatures.

She is the clone of my son’s kitty, Precious. Precious is a Bombay - Abyssinian and orange tabby - and being totally standoffish is a trait of the breed! She is either a total hussy with her “Daddy” or the banchee of all felines…but we love her anyway

I adopted a feral kitten 12 years ago. Jake was very stand-offish. (for several years actually!) Of my 5 cats, he is now the most demanding of love and attention. Give Mocha time & all the loving she will accept for now. She’ll come around.:-)

I rescued to ‘wild’ cats……that had been abandoned in the hills of Montana…………..it may take a bit of time. But they.., ‘binx’ and ‘baby’, became the biggenst love bugs on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For reduncancy sake, Mocha will come around. My first Kitten Sheba, was *very* standoffish. But after a few nights she began to sleep on top of my head in bed at night. She was rescued. I got her for my birthday close to 15 years ago, and she passed away the week of my birthday this past year. She was the first of many. But like most things, you never forget your first. I am sure she is waiting for me on the other side of the Rainbow bridge. Patience is key. Good luck. :-)

my Bagheera (Havana Brown) likes to cuddle under the covers too! she will lay between me & my husband to seperate us in our sleep, then pin me to the wall (the bed is against the wall on my side), go under the blankets, and curl up behind my knees!

Mocha is an adorable fuzz and I am sure with lots of love and attention, she will soon be sitting in your lap!

All it takes is a little time. She may come around. My aunt had adopted a kitten from a litter that she and her co-workers found. She had to bottle feed her. She was really affraid of people. All thoughs years I never saw her. She hid all the time. But your kitty is older, she might come around.
