Squeaker

SqueakerWe call her Squeaker because she cannot meow. She squeaks, and we think it’s because she watched birds all day from the window and began to imitate them.

She looks so curious just peeking out of the box like that. Looks like she will be/is a handful. Trouble in a kitten form!

My kitten also chirps. She is 7 months old and just learned to meow - although it still does not come natural to her. My vet told me this is because she was taken from her mother too young. Meowing is a learned behavior. As kittens, the mother cat chirps to call her litter, to feed or use the litter box. My kitten Bianca did learn to meow when she was at the kennel while we were away. BUT - She will only do so when she is very excited, focused or distressed. We are very proud of her when she “makes a meow” Hope this helps. )O(

We have another kitten that chirps like a bird. We’re not quite sure where he picked it up as he is an indoor cat but you can hear him chirping as he goes around the house.

Squeaker is a beautiful girl! She looks like such a treat to have around.

My Tucker was named after the mouse in “The Cricket In Times Square” because he had barely any voice when he was little either. NOW, however, he’s got one of the biggest mouths I’ve ever heard on a cat. He’ll be 17 in a few weeks. :)

Squeaker looks very similar to my Cassie. My girl meows a LOT, purrs like a little engine, and sometimes makes sounds like a pigeon or mourning dove cooing. Your little furball is so pretty. She looks like she’s ready to sneak up on something. Have fun with her.

It’s cute when a kitty has a destinctive meow! I know a big old white female with gray spots. You’d expect a yowl to come out of her mouth, but she had the most delicate voice — very sweet!

My little boy was named Taffy when I adopted him he could only say yeeew. When he came home with me he would sit in the window and became multi-lingual he would chirp like the birds but also chatter rapidly like the squrriels!

A friend of mine has a cat with similar lingual oddities. Except in Bobby’s case, when he makes a noise…he sounds like he’s trying to bark, or howl at the moon! (We have no idea how that happened, as vocal as his “big sister” is…)

Adorable little fur ball! I have a 2 year old tabby white and ginger who also chirps no meows…As a baby she was so silent (except for the purrrrrrrrrrrr) we thought something was wrong with her. Serenity loves to watch birds so maybe she thinks she is one…who knows with kitties?!

Squeaker is beautiful, and what a look! Our Bitsy “chitters” at the birds and bunnies when she looks out the window. Of course, she has the sweetest little mew and purrs like a little motor when she’s happy.

Squeaker looks just like our little “Majic “, who is also a squeaking chatterbox when she sees the birds and squirrels. She rarely meows but when she does it’s a tiny, sweet little mew.

Your pretty girl looks full of mischief and I love her dainty paws.

I have a boy cat. that i got that was two days old. the people put their cats in a box with out the mother and just left them to do whatever, anyone wanted to do with them. I picked one out and it was the only one that couldn’t meow. he turned out to be a nice beautiful cat. he is 2 years old now and still can’t meow. he sounds just like a squeaking toy. that is why i called him squeakers. maybe I will put him on here to, so you can see him too. he’s at my boyfriends house right now because he has alot of land and can eat all the filed mice he wants. lol…he turning out to be a big fat cat now..you have a beauty for a cat. enjoy them while they are small…

When I was a child, we had 9 cats at one point (5 of those 9 being an “oops” litter we inherited when we gave a stray a home, 3 of which we kept, and 1 of those 3 of whom is the sole survivor of all the kitty cats back home with my parents). Just before I was born, the gorgeous black female cat we had (Annabelle) gave birth to two kittens that my sister named Licorice and Midnight (originally). Not long after she was born my mom figured out that she couldn’t meow correctly, she just squeeked and was known from there on out as Squeeker. I miss her so much… She was completely solid black, even the pads on her feet, with the most beautiful copper eyes. Her sister was her twin except that she was yellow-eyed. Squeeker used to follow my and our old tom cat Charlie around all over creation when I was little… We had some wonderful adventures together. :)

Thanks for bringing back the memories with *your* little Squeeker.
