Rexxar

RexxarThis picture was taken the day I adopted Rex. He’s now eight months old and doing great. He loves to play fetch more than any dog I’ve ever seen, and he speaks kitty fluently.

He is a beautiful little fuzz. My kitty plays fetch with a leather mouse. I truly believe she thinks it is a real mouse. She will carry it around the house in her mouth like the real thing.

Your little guy has great eyes and pretty fur on his chest. Give him a little fuzzing from me.

Treasure him because someday he may be king!

Rosie, haven’t you heard that imitaion is the sincerest form of flattery? Take it as a compliment to both you and the fuzzball in question.

…and chill out, babe, you’ll give yourself wrinkles…

Rex looks so curious…. I’m sure he is just checking out something interesting over there! Perhaps something to fetch..that’s sounds like fun, having a kitty who plays like that.

What a handsome boy, with those big eyes and beautiful markings.

Don’t you just love his fuzzy paws?!

Very cute. Love the distinct “M” on his forehead. His colorings/markings are beautiful. My one cat, Murphy, loves to play with toy mice or curled up pipe cleaners (all of which end up under the couches). I throw them to her and she bats them with her paws.Only trouble is–I seem to be the one constantly fetching them to do it all over again. Oh, well, it’s quality time with my girl (the other one is doing what she does best, sleeping).

Add me to the roster of moms who have cats that play fetch. Cats aren’t fools. If they like to play, they know how to arrange all the world around them to suit their wishes.

What a darling! He’s like “Where’s the mouse?” My kitty doesn’t really play with anything. He just sleeps and meows to go outside in the ugliest weather. He’s a brat, but we love him anyway. :)

I have a female Tabby who used to fetch also. She did this on her own. I would toss a piece of paper and she would bring it back. She is almost a teenager, but she still has lots of energy.

We have a Lynx-Point Siamese and she’s maybe six months old? I’m not sure, but she’s still a kitten and she loves playing fetch too. You throw a little ball of paper and she’ll bring it back to you! If you can’t reach it after a while she’s push it a little towards you. It’s so cute.

I had a Red Point/Tabby mix who I thought was the only fetch playing kitty in the world. She would chase anything I threw. I started to notice that the things I’d throw would come back to me wet, a while after sleuthing I discovered that she would stop at her water bowl, drop the toy in, drink, pick it back up and bring the rest of the way to me. I happily adopted her to another family due to several cross country moves but I hope in my heart of hearts that her new owner still takes the time to play alittle fetch with her, she was my baby!

Well, to reply to all these comments, thanks for the complements! Rexxar is a really sweet kitty. I actually didn’t teach him to fetch. I threw one of his mice once just to see if he’d chase it, and on the second or third throw, he just brought it back so I could keep playing with him. He does get confused as to how close he has to bring it for me to be able to reach it, but eventually he figures it out and bats it closer to me so I can get it again. Rex is almost a year old now, and he’s fully grown. He has a little pooch on his belly, and he’s still full of energy and as adorable as he was when he was a kitten.

Is this kitten named for a character from World of Warcraft? If so, excellent work on the irony. If not, very creative naming!
