Tigger
This is Tigger (a male blotched tabby) at about five weeks old - the day after his dramatic rescue from an oncoming taxi on a busy street! Not fazed in the least by his close call, he boldly tackles brooms, dusters & mops. His favourite toys are practice golf balls, a stuffed dog that is bigger than he is, a piece of red string, and us!62 Comments »

Sorry Bagheera. I never imagined that clicking the “anonymous” option would cause such a ruckus. Enamoured of the bundle of fur’n'bones who squeaked into our lives, we wanted to share his photo. It was my first time doing something like this and I wasn’t sure what to do… that’s all. Not really hiding from anyone… By the way, Beeps (or B) is my nickname in real life.
Thanks Everyone, for your lovely comments! Playful even when he was as light as a feather (and as hungry as a horse!) after his rescue, Tigger is a delightful rascal who seems to have self-recharging batteries. He has brought so much joy into our lives. In the photo he was swatting at the camera cord - he adores playing with string of all kinds and tries to run off with our shoelaces, only to find them attached to a shoe. He isn’t too keen on having his tummy rubbed, but giving him razzies there has been the preferred distraction tactic when he gets a little too enthusiastic!
I am happy to report that he is getting bigger each day and will soon be joined by Twinkle, another teeny tiny Tabby, born to a momma who had broken her hip. Twinkle’s almost big enough to join us and we’re all looking forward to his arrival.

I really like the name Loki for a cat. Nice suggestion. But still I don’t know if it is suited for such a tiny little kitten. If I remember correctly, isn’t Loki a giant in the myths?
I’m not sure, but you may be correct on the giant-thing. That’s why it is such a great name for Coons and Wegies and Siberians (oh, my!)(Sorry, couldn’t help myself) But the name Loki goes great for black cats too. As long as they’re boys!

How adorable! He looks like he’s saying, “Pick me up!” My kitty will go to the cabinet where his string is kept, look at me, look at it and say, “Meow?” I run him in circles with it. He loves to play with floss too. But he never gets to eat it. I know it’s bad for him.
Tigger is a real cutie-pie and looks so playful.If cats have 9 lives, I’m glad you saved him after his first brush with “living on the edge”. Hopefully in his new home he’ll keep the other eight.

What a sweet baby!!! I witnessed a poor baby kitty get hit on a busy Main St. and couldn’t do anything to prevent it. I went back to the site trying find any siblings but couldn’t. Thank you for rescuing this baby ball of fluff……I am hopelessly in love with my 3 big bad kitties. I love this daily kitten, it makes me smile every day when I link in.

Hello! He is so so so cute but, as someone who works with veterinarians, I say pleeeeease don’t let him play with string that he could swallow. There’s nothing worse for a kitten than a string foreign object. Only let him play with it supervised or maybe tie it tightly to a doorknob!
It happens more often than we’d like, just a word of advice. Would hate for something bad to happen to such an angel. Love those paws.
Hey Charleen, thanks for the tip! We’ll keep a sharp eye on that, though he doesn’t seem interested in chewing & swallowing the shoestrings ~ he just likes to fling them into the air, & skid across the floor with them, pretending they’re trying to escape from him!

What a sweet baby–my kits say “Thanks” for another rescue!! We play with a laser- nothing to swallow or remember to pick up. We just remember NOT to shine it in anyone’s eyes. Meeps reminded me that I am “Mumma”, not “Mom”!! Those aren’t “paws” in our house, the ones that stick up in the air like that are “bunny feet”

I just absolutely love kitties!!! Tigger is so adorable! Its a shame I had to get rid of mine….:( they were beautiful and loyal. I miss them. I guess that is why I subscribed to this site. I have to have a daily dose of fuzz…beings that my mother has a dog…:P Lovin it!!!
