We adopted a feral cat, Mommycat, and 3 days later Moose and his brothers made their debut. He is currently living with our two dogs and four other cats. His full time occupation is being pretty and winning my heart.

RE: Sick cat:
My vet did this surgery for $200. It sould be worth the plane ticket to fly here and do it.
Hagrid is doing fine now a year later. He also takes glucosamine/condroitin daily and is on Prescription cd diet.
Tried to contact the lady with no success.
I’m with you, I don’t think this surgery costs that much. I would ask for a LOT of proof before I donate. I would rather donate to a local no-kill that I know will go to good use. I just read an article about this VERY SAME PROBLEM in CatFancy’s December issue. A changed diet and a small surgery were also the cure for them…..
One of our kitties had similar urinary crystal problems. She went through several rounds of antibiotics that seemed only mildly helpful. Two different vets wanted to put her on a Science Diet oxy-something-or-other food that you can only buy at the vet’s. Maddie hated the food and it was hard to keep her food separate from the other two since the special food is bad for the healthy kitties.
Then we found Innova EVO at a local “Feed and Seed” store. The store owner was singing its praises and I bought it knowing he might have just been wanting to sell me the cat food (Note: I have no “financial” interest in this company. I just found the product made a difference for our kitty. Sorry if this is some kind of commercialism that offends someone.) It’s a no-grain food. Maddie’s urinary problems cleared up and all 3 of our “babies” like the food. Maddie’s dandruff also improved and I also suspect she throws up less often (touchy tummy).
The small surgery didnt work permanently, he had two others before the big one. He is doing well on the diet and supplement but still I watch him carefully.
this free cat has cost about $1000 by now. Lol
lol, the things we do… i don’t even eat right myself, but before I buy a new type of food for Gheeri, I research the amount of protein, ash, taurine and magnesium in it before I will give it to her. Plus she gets vitamins… I don’t take vitamins!
I can relate. When I shop for food, Geoffrey gets the scientific formula food and I get whatever is on sale. But, I was brought up with good values (cat-people parents) and apparently you were, too!
I was actually brought up to be a dog person, and although I do love dogs, I was inherently turned into a cat person by my 1st cat, Molly, who decided she was going to teach me everything I had to know about cats in the 1st month of having her-by having her 6 kittens under my bed (I know, at least it wasn’t ON my bed).
Your kitten is adorable. So pretty. About 2 years ago I found a kitten who survived a hurricane. Best natured kitten and very loving. I live in Florida.
I had a cat named Moose once, and he looked just like yours as a kitten!
Moose was a joy to have around, but I had to give him away when I moved, maybe this is one of his (I didn’t get a chance to neuter him - so it is possible)
Thanks. He was the biggest of the litter. We thought he’d be big. Turns out he weighs about 6 pounds. His brother, Babycat weighs 20 lbs. So much for my ability to pick names!
…..ahem……………this fuzz looks like he leaves a trail of white fuzz wherever he goes…………….the sort of fuzz that comes up to you just as you’re ready to go out for the evening in your little black dress, rubs himself all over you and then goes back to doing what he was doing………..absolutely nothing!…………………………………….*SASSY* *FUZZ*
Cute little handful of fuzzikins!!! His face is darling!!! Looks like he will be a giant puffball when he grows up. You are honorable to have adopted his mommy!

Just our experience. “Your mileage may vary.”
