Mitchu
Mitchu (or Mitch to some friends) lives with me and my roommate in Paris, France. His name means “kitten” in misspelled and mispronounced Italian. He’s not a kitten anymore but ever since he was he has continued to love this chair so much (yes, that white thing is a chair). Here he is hugging the beloved chair while rubbing his cheek on it.

That is sooooo adorable. What is it with cats that just love to ‘mark’ things as we call it. 2 of our 3 cats just rub & rub on things. He looks so soft & silky & wuvable & sweet. That really made me smile this morning when I saw him. Makes me want to go back home to my woobies.
Cats have glands just behind their fuzzy little lips (among other sites) and they secret a scent to tell the other cats that “ha, ha, *this* is mine! I know it’s not a very scientific explanation, but I think it’s so cool to watch them mark their possesions especially when mine are marking *me*!!!!

I had a cat who would stand on a box on her tippiest of toes to rub her cheeks on a clothes line rope and meowing and purring… so cute I had to capture it on video, whenever I’m kitty lonely (can’t have cats in new apt) I look at her rubbing and loving that rope like it was her best friend! It’s always good for a giggle!

BTW, Mitch is another one of those black kittens-smacked big time with the “cute gene.” My little girl is addicted to yarn–we lived in my studio for the first 2 weeks she was with us. My cat-sitter has never seen her- just a skein of yarn in the hall–still spinning!
Glad to know my kitten isn’t the only obsessive one. She has a yellow fuzzy-on-a-stick that she totes around the house with her everywhere. She will play with other toys but that one has to be in the same room with her when she settles down for any periosd of time.
She’ll even bring it to me to “guard” it from the dogs when she is going outside!

We have a giant black tomcat, and he is a big baby. He has to sleep under the covers with us, and he cries like a baby if we go into another room and he forgets where we are.
i love Mitchu! i used to have the most beautiful black cat, but she died a few years ago. black cats are diffinatly the best! she used to gather socks and pretend they were her kittens. (she was nutered)
