Sonny

SonnyThis adorable picture is of Sonny. He and his brother Shadow were rescued in October, when it was starting to get really cold outside. They were abandoned and found in a parking lot alone at three weeks old. I fostered them until they got older because the owner that decided to keep them worked too many hours to feed and clean them properly. They have a great home with them now. This picture was taken shortly after I got them. Sonny was frightened by the camera. It was hard to see Sonny & his brother go, but I already have a dog, three cats and two kids. Sonny & Shadow have a great home and I will get to see them again! Hope you think this picture is as cute as I think it is!

Good Morning All,

This little kitty is so precious. Looks as if Sonny is not quite sure why he *IS* but I’m sure he found out that life has many interesting things to investigate.

Sonny has beautiful markings. Just want to give him a little squeeze (not to hard though).

He’s a complete charmer. There’s nothing funnier or cuter than a kitten being ultra-serious.

He’s a lot like my Christopher (from many years ago). Christopher grew up to be a very big hug and super affectionate. I think tabbies are like that.

Goodmorning everyone! Kat here. I can’t believe I came to the daily kitten this a.m. & who do I see but my sweet foster boy Sonny! I wish you guys could see him now! It’s amazing how they change. He looks so little and fluffy in the pic. I’m so glad you’all like him. He was one of many fosters, but we had Sonny & his brother for almost 3 mos. before he went to his permanent home, so it was hard to see them go.

Sorry for rambling on, but I do love my Foster Fuzz so!
Sorry, Rosie. Just had to get into the Fuzz spirit!

I completely sympathize. I took in a stray who gave birth 4 days later. I kept her kittens until they were 12 weeks old. Fortunately one of my vet’s techs took 2 and another customer (highly recommended) took the 3rd, so they got great homes and I get to hear about them all the time.

Bless you for taking them in, and having the strength to let them go. I “fostered” a kitten for a friend, again because of my friend’s working hours and the medical needs of the kitten. Rudy (short for Evinrude, because of his motor) spent the rest of his life with us!! I don’t foster kits anymore, but I am a volunteer “kitten tamer” at our local humane society. Sonny is adorable!!

ok, this fuzz has the most pendulous whisker pouches I have ever seen on a 3 week old kitten. I cannot IMAGINE what they are like now; he probably has to push them around in a wheelbarrow!….maybe that’s why he’s crouched down-the pouches are so heavy they’re putting a strain on his neck!……………………………………..

Sonny is a beautiful little kitty! Looks just like my Buttons. I had Buttons from 6 weeks old til I had to put him to sleep at 4 years old (that was 10 years ago). He was a feisty one with an attitude of his own, but also could be so sweet and lovable, but only to me. One morning, he attacked my step-daugher and bit her all over her legs and back. Buttons was bouncing off walls and sticking out his U-shaped curled tongue and making weird noises. I swear he was possessed. In any case, animal control had to handle him for me. Even though all his shots were up to date, because he bit someone, I had to, per the law, put him to sleep after 10 days of quarantine at my vet. I visited him every day and was with him when he was put to sleep (it was either this way or he was going to have his head opened to see why he did what he did). I couldn’t do that. This was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and to this day, I still cry about it as I’m doing right now while writing this. I have his pictures all over the house & in photo albums. He was cremated and he is always with me. The same day I had him put to sleep, my husband found a calico sitting on his tire in the wheel well when getting his car after work. Murphy was a free cat that we brought into our home from that moment, even slept in our bed the first night. As it turned out by taking her to the vet the next day (& almost $600 later), she had fleas, ear mites and a host of other things wrong (all corrected). Because she came to me on this sad day (which I couldn’t even go to work that day), I call Murphy “my special angel” for coming to me at that time & the way I got her. It was meant to be.
Sorry, everybody, for going on & on like this. Actually, it helped talking about my sadness & missing Buttons. I’m blessed now with Murphy and Cassie and I love them dearly. I can’t even imagine not having one or two cats in my life. Thanks for “listening”, all you cat-lovers. I enjoy coming to this site. Makes my day. Bye from Oak Forest, IL (suburb of Chicago)!

My deepest condolences for your loss! My first kitten I adopted from a rescue group…I brought her home Saturday, and she died that Thursday, so my bf and I started rescuing cats from the rescue group until they went out of business. The next one we kept, and he had the worst ear mites my vet had ever seen, which is scary because my vet is no spring chicken! He also had ringworm for several months and conjunctivitis in both eyes–rough for a little 12-week-old guy! But he’s beautiful and affectionate now, and almost two. Sometimes you just have to finish rescuing the next kitten to give you the strength to move past the lost one!

He is so cute. I have a baby that looks very much like him, she will be five this year, if Sonny is as half a sweet as my baby is, the new owners are very lucky.

2006-03-13 10:43:37

:::sigh::: Good Afternoon/Good Evening, all!

_To my Fuzzy friends_: Thanks for all the votes! you guys are the greatest!

I don’t know how much I can post, as I stayed home from work today, and so the REAL Bagheera is making pizza dough on my lap as I type (ooh, ow, eee, ouch!…but, alas, I love it at the same time.)

To whomever was talking about giving kitties tuna salad yesterday: My Gheeri (and when I had my Coon and DSH as well) hears the can opener and comes a runnin’. She sits patiently, and I squeeze the tuna-flavored water into a dish (never the oil-kind, I read somewhere that it is bad for kitties) with a tiny bit of meat, and she laps it all up. It was my Meeko’s favorite :(

And of course: “I can be ferocious, see?” *FUZZ*

p.s. we’ve had a lot of blue-eyes lately, no? attack of the 3 week old kitties! aaahh!!! too….cute….must…look…away…..

our Daisy does the same thing for tuna water–she is so conditioned that all we have to do is open a kitchen cupboard and there she is.
She is not patient while we open the can, she plants herself in the middle of the kitchen and stares at us with a demanding enraged pop-eyed expression on her perfect fat little face.

Sonny is demonically cute! Ferocious fuzz!

I really don’t know how my cat knows when I am going to have a tuna sandwich. He’s right there even before I open the can and pour the water off. These cats must have a tuna sense or something. Actually I find it amazing and to hear other people talk about it and know other cats are doing the same thing is even more amazing. Sonny is a sweet sweet kitten and it was nice to hear more about him when Kat came on. God Bless you Kat for taking good care of them.

Tuna water can be useful for more than treats. I’ve sneaked medicine into cats a number of times by disguising it in tuna water.

I really love this picture. There is a lot of character in this guy! I use to take in strays, fix them up, spay/nueter them, love them LOTS, and then find them new homes. It’s always so hard because you fall in love with every one that you take in. My hat off to you for having the courage to let go.

Now this little rascal brings back memories of my Springer. He would not eat tuna, salmon, or sardines…strangest cat I ever had, he did love the fish flavored Friskees though. And, he had this same ferocious look when you would startle him, he would even spit when he arched that back up. You knew he meant business then LOL.

My 86 yr old mother is working on her 15th stray at the moment . She feeds them gets them accustomed to nice humans , finally gets them to come to her , gets them neutered and healthy and shots and then finds them a home.
She has always dome this. I guess that’s where I get it. My daughter does it too.
It’s a shame some people are so cruel.
