    March 24th, 2006

PeanutPeanut was found on a doorstep one morning. My friend brought him to me to see if I could help. When I got him, he was in bad shape. I bottle-fed him and kept him warm and clean for two days until I could find a surrogate mother cat. This picture was taken a day after I had him. You can see by the smile on his face that he’s happy and warm. He now has a new mom and siblings and lives in a mansion with people who love cats.

When I saw this baby I went into mommy mode. I just wanted to curl around him and snuggle and protect him. No wonder you took him in! We need lots more people like you!

(I wish we could see what he looks like now-he would make a great candidate for Kats’ cat of the day!)

Weeeeeell… as I was on my 45 mile commute home Wednesday, I got a call from Bryan-Gheeri knocked the cage down. He cleaned up, and after we ate dinner-down the cage went again. Yesterday we got him his own cage (we had borrowed a cage), and put it in the bedroom in a corner. While I had been setting up the new cage, I left him on the floor, and she just sat there staring-didn’t attack or anything. So last night she behaved, and no bad calls so far today…. we shall see. Next week I am buying one of those stands that has a hook to hang the cage. We are debating names: Bryan likes Cesar, I like Oscar. We shall see…

peanut is so cute it is amazing how people can just drop off little animals left and right that is not a good thing to do that is stupid i have a dog named stiller that someone dropped off behind a TRASHCAN OMG how low can someone go to drop an inocent animal off god if i could make a law that if you drop of an animal you get the dealth penality or something harsh but it is a good thing most animals that get dropped off go to a good home like peanut and my puppy stiller. B-)

Rita warned me about today’s DK. I was still unprepared. What a sweet-pea. I don’t know what else to say. Everyone else has said it already.

Sigh. If that little guy were mine, I wouldn’t get anything done. I would just watch over him all the time.

So effective to have the person’s fingers in the photo to give us a scale for just how tiny this angelic little furrball really is.

I, too, went directly into Mumma-mode. What a sweet tiny baby–blessings on you for all the care this tiny Peanut needed, and you gave. I thought Meowmepurr was tiny when I she came to me, but Peanut is truly tiny.

I’m finally back from Las Vegas–four days of eating, smoking, gambling and shopping–it’s a good thing I don’t drink anymore! We had a great time, won a little money(but I spent it all) and I’m pooped!!

I’ve just spent about 2 hours going through the kittens & posts I missed while I was gone. I love the 2 new blogs, but will never abandon The Daily Kitten. Our Kittenmaster Rocks!!!

For the Where Are You? Gang, I live in Southwest Washington State, just North of Portland, OR. We live 10 miles out of town, part way up a mountain, overlooking the Mighty Columbia River and Mount Hood.

This wonderful picture brings back memories! It is almost exactly two years since the stray I took in gave birth. It was so wonderful to see those tiny helpless creatures grow cuter and bigger every day. And just when I had to give them up to their new homes, my veterinarian’s office called me to see if I could take a week old kitten that had been rescued and brought to them. Of course, my cat still had milk…and now her foster daughter gladdens my house with her antics, along with mama, my original two boys and the two other strays who turned up afterward!

What a sweet little ball of fur! He is so lucky to have found someone to take care of him. Hats off to you for doing that! Must be pretty young, My cat found me when she was young and pregnant and decided to have 6 kittens under my carport. Gave the kittens to homes, kept the mother, a grey Persion mix, long haired and very affectionate. Of course, she won’t have any more kittens, but won’t let other cats near our house either!
