Fritz

FritzThis is my kitty named Fritz. In this Picture he is about 12 weeks old. I just got him from the Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley in Minnesota. When I got him he had kennel cough and had a plugged up nose, and had to breath out of his mouth. He is now almost two years old now and doing just fine.

Oh what a sweet baby! I love the orange ones!

Off the subject, I lived right next door to Golden Valley in Robertsdale/Crystal. My Mom’s family is from Minneapolis and I lived up in that area for three years. The best time of my life was during those three years. I lived in Brooklyn Center and ended up in Burnsville. Boy I miss those days!

*MASTER SNIFFLE FUZZ*

Fritz is so cute. I always feel so sorry for little animals that aren’t doing so well. Don’t you wish they could talk so you would know what to do for them. It just breaks my heart.

What a good person you are for adopting him with all his problems and nursing him back to health. I bet he is running all around the house and thanking you every day with his purrs.

I can’t decide if it looks more like a sneeze or a laugh, but he sure is cute. I’m glad he has such a good home now.

awww, poor baby! Both Meeko n Gheeri had that nasty Upper Respiratory as well, very common in cats that are in shelters. AAAAHH, I just want to pick him up and coddle him!!!

When Gheeri came home from the shelter, all she did was lay in our laps and wheeze as she breathed. We even had to bring her food to her, she wouldn’t get up! She was soooo sick.

I LOVE orange-and-whites! We have one that we named Milo that comes around just to be petted.

*I’m tho thick* Fuzz

My Marley Farley, as we sometimes call him, also brought the kennel cough home w/him and gave it to my other kitty Danny Boy (RIP :( ). We adopted Marley from our local SPCA. I wonder why it’s so common in kennel settings. I guess it’s the same for dogs too, cause in order to board they have to have a Bordatello (sp?) shot. Do cats have to? I’ve never had to board any of my kitties.

Hi Kat1, I work at a veterinary clinic and have never heard of cats getting kennel cough. It’s usually refered to in cats as an upper respiratory infection. This does spread rapidly through cats and kittens that are in close confined spaces such as humane societys and kennels. They do not need a bordetella shot if they are boarded, only their routine shots. Thought you might like to know. Take care.

Lucky baby to get a loving home even sick. And he’s a cutie to boot.

I worked at a shelter, and a lot of them are set up the same with cages stacked. So if you have a sick baby on the top then most of the other will get it.

….ahem………………………………EVERYTHING a kitty does is within their control…………………when a puppy/dog ‘flops’ along, they flop…and that’s that!……..however, when a kitty flops, it is on THEIR terms only………………………..being refered to as ‘fuzz’ is just acknowledging their being-their force of nature…………………………………………

*COMPRENDE?*

Fritz looks like he has the softest, thick fur. And just look at that pink nose and pads. His expression is either a sneeze coming on, laughter or belting out a song. I believe it’s the first one. My Cassie has some breathing problems to this day, like she gets stuffed up, but she never sleeps with her mouth open. Maybe that’s why she snores so loud many times. The vet said there’s no concern, she’s fine. Anyhow, Fritz looks like a sweetie and a very handsome guy.

He’s a fine pretty. Does he have a “pin-on” tail (white body, striped tail)? My Zombie looked very similar and he was a real pin the tail on the donkey. A sweetie-pie, not very bright but very loving. Your boy looks really charming.

When I adopted Taffy from his foster mom he had a terrible cold a half tail and a shaved butt. He was found in a ditch and his tail was infected the vet had to amputate half. There were ten cats in a screened house in her backyard he was the smallest and most vocal. I picked him up and he said eeeww. Sometimes the ones who are sick or disabled will pick the one who will love them no matter what. I am glad Fritz found such a mom. He looks like he just burst into a happy song.

Sooo adorable!! I also adopted a sick kitten from a shelter (4 years ago). Ozzy had a severe upper respiratory infection and you could hear his breathing from other rooms in the house it was so congested. It took 21 days of antibiotics to take care of it… he is fine now, but he snores louder than my German Shepherds. Love your kitten, give him lots of play time and kisses:)

Forgive my digression from precious Meow fuzzies to our barky friends. But I must add this: I went to see the movie, “8 Below” last night and it is a wonderful Disney film…the kind I remember from when I was a kid. It gives “Old Yeller” a run for its money.

Fritz is so cute,I work at a veterinary clinic and adopted a kitten from work. He is also orange and white but he had to have his right eye removed due to severe conjuntivitis. His name is Stitch and he is as frisky as any 7 minth old kitten should be.

Our Lucy-boo was also a “mouth-breather” as a kitten, from an infection she caught at animal rescue. Seems like most cats from such a place have some initial health problems.
