Mommy rescued me at two weeks old after someone placed me in the middle of the street right before school was let out. She has bottle fed me, nursed me and even taught me how to use the litter box! I love her very much.

I just can’t comprehend how people can do something like abandon a tiny kitten to a street! Grrrr. But this little thing is so cute. She will return your love many times over.
I feel sad when people abandon kittens, my wee baby was left on a building site in a set of drawers, only found when a builder removed the drawers before the cabinet was smashed up!!! how cruel people can be.
Photographed just seconds after he (she) took down the wily Ty Beanie Baby, the mighty hunter stands triumphently over the Beanie Baby and lets out a mighty roar. Tonight, the pride will feast well. Such is the circle of life.
Lucky sure is lucky! Bravo for rescuing the orange fuzz!
What a little cutie pie. Look at that little mouth! Look at that little tail, look at those little ears, look at those gorgeous eyes, OMG look at those big FEET!
Thank you so much for saving Lucky’s life. It’s people like you who make this world a better place. It’s kitties like Lucky who make this world worth living in. He’s adorable!!
Liked FFrreedd’s comment. It was cute, as it describes the scene perfectly. She is such a cutie. Another rescuer to some one who is cruel enough to put a cutie in harms way. Thank God for the rescuers.
I wonder if that’s his victory face for having just caught his prey!
What a cutie! I have never been able to understand why people don’t just drop off unwanted animals at no-kill shelters, so they can be adopted and cared for by someone who truly loves them.
I hope Lucky brings you much joy (and luck!) in the coming years.
How could anyone abandon this little cutie, let alone any cat. I wish people would take better care of their pets and take responsibility. Good job in rescuing this precious little kitty!
Oh my! Bless your heart for rescuing little Lucky! I’ve rescued and fostered many many kittens and cats over the years, but never a two-week-old. I can’t begin to imagine how much work - and joy! - that must be.
Oh, what a sweetie. I love orange/buff kitties. It breaks my heart to see people dump their pets, I look at our local Animal Rescue League page every day and would love to take all of them home. I could never part with my little (or rather big) Gus.
TY ONE ON FUZZ
Stories like this make me feel all gushy and teary and thankful that there are caring people out there. This is obviously a very adorable and Demanding baby!
And there’s one more thing Lucky has learned: how to use her claws!
It is heart-breaking to realize how many people abuse/neglect/abandon their animals. Just last night, the evening news showed another abused dog—a pit bull puppy whose collar had embedded into his skin as he grew and needed surgery to have it removed. His skin was also coming off in sheets due to mange and severe tick and flea allergies—and he was emaciated. The owner was arrested—thank GOD! The dog was rescued based on a tip from a neighbor. Which brings me to my point: As animal lovers, we all need to keep an eye out for things that don’t quite seem “right” with the way our neighbors are caring for their pets. If that neighbor had not reported the owner of the dog, the dog would not have made it. One of my favorite quotes is: *”All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”* By Edmund Burke
SO true.
PS: Thanks to everyone who repeatedly e-mailed Canadian PM Stephen Harper about the baby seal hunt. Let’s hope this was the last year for that abomination.
Well, James, you apparently do not speak a word of Feline, which, as every KittyMama knows, is as much telepathic as it is aural.
Poor James. Lucky Lucky!!
James! You don’t see the charm in this photo, the value of the rescue - the importance of learning CatSpeak? I’m sure some lessons have been recorded - you gotta get Hooked on Feline Phonics!
It’s hard to differentiate between the 2 people who go by the name “James” on this site. This is apparently the evil James—-perhaps the good James should be aware of this.
To Evil James: No comment about eating Lucky?? Not partial to redheads??
*JAMES(whichever one…)*– You can find “A Very Partial Ailurin Glossary” in _The Book of Night with Moon_ by Diane Duane. Some of the glossary is also on her web site, http://www.dianeduane.com.
I still can’t speak Ailurin very well, but I can read and understand it much better now. If you study hard, you too may be able to understand your cat, someday.
James,
My cats know thier names and will come to me when called……and bailey my german shephard talks in a very funny way………….oviously you are not indeed a pet lover otherwise you would know that pets do indeed get very close to thier owners and it is a special bond that indeed puts you in mind to mother i.e be mommy to each of them and love them unconditionally and never cause harm.
10 letters!! Awwwwwwwwwh! I lied 11 letters! It is sooooooooooooooooooooo (takes deep breath) oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!! I just love this picture!!
Lucky is precious. You are lucky to have him and we are lucky to have seen his fuzzy face. Bless you for saving him! He will bring you more joy than you know! The cats I have “saved” have always been a little better than those I have purchased.
Lucky has a wonderful mommy. I can only hope “bad things” happen to bad people! This mornings newpaper (Albany, NY) had an article about a springer spaniel who had his throat cut open and left to die on the street. He was rescued (!) and now has hundered of folks routing for him!
I bet it’s nice and warm on top of the dryer, and the hum is probably comforting, too. But the kitten isn’t fooled. I bet he’s saying, “This isn’t my mom! Where’s the milk?” He’ll purr himself to sleep, though, as soon as his tummy’s full. What a cutie!
LUCKY YOUR TUMMY IS FULL AND YOUR FUZZINESS LOOKS LIKE YOU WENT THROUGH THAT DRYER, AND KING CONGISH TOO I MIGHT ADD. THANK YOUR MOMMY FOR SAVING YOURLITTLESELF.
Lucky — what an appropriate name for this very little cutie! It hurts to hear the terrible things “humans” have done to animals. I’m so glad you were able to rescue Lucky and provide all that was necessary with a loving and caring home for a precious kitty.
You have sweet heart, I do not understand why there are some person hate animals.I see cats have emotion like people: angry, happy. I love my cat very much and she love me too. Cats are our friend, share our life
Dear Owner of Daily Kitten,
I adore your site - one of my favorites. However, when the site was down recently, I fell in love with the substitute site for adult cats that you recommended until the kittens could be restored. I foolishly didn’t bookmark that site and now ai cannot remember how to get there. Please let me know so I can enjoy The Daily Kitten and daily adult cats too.
When Gilligan had her kittens under my carport, I was wondering what to do with them. Several people told me they’d have no problem dumping them off on some road somewhere. I, of course, could not do that and ended up giving them away. This is a cute little kitten, lucky she found a good home instead of getting hit by a car!
It is heart-breaking to realize how many people abuse/neglect/abandon their animals. Just last night, the evening news showed another abused dog—a pit bull puppy whose collar had embedded into his skin as he grew and needed surgery to have it removed. SO true.
Though we are all eternally appaled at the cruelty which the world heaps upon and seems to accept toward our felis friends and fellow creatures, I always try to see, however misguided, some act of hope in an incident like this…Surely there were wiser and safer ways to put this tiny creature into a loving home, but perhaps this was all that seemed possible at the time. Now, all of that concentrated love that is a beloved cat will find its expression. Too optimistic?
Agree with you, Judy, about the Burke quote. Well done.
absolutely precious!!! what a beautiful kitten and what a sweetie you are for rescuing him…i can’t understand how some people are so mean but bless you for being so kind. i’ve rescued many myself.
Many years ago, my dad almost ran over a little black kitty that was in the middle of the road. She was such a character!! She was a little demon and an angel all rolled into one!!
Glad you saved this little orange cutie!!!
Sweet Orange Fuzz. People that abandon animals like that need to be shot. No questions asked. If nothing else, take them to the SPCA if you don’t want them. Thank you for giving the little felllow a home and rescuing him.
Lucky is a beautiful kitten. This makes me so happy to see he has a loving home now. I look at this picture every day and feel better. Thanks for saving him. He will give years of love, joy and happiness to you for it.
It makes me so mad when people just abandon any animal, especially a baby that can’t defend himself. Some of the sweetest, best cats my family and I have had have been those that adopted us because someone else didn’t want them.
God bless you and everyone else who provides a loving home to an animal in need.
I can’t comprehend what could possess someone to abandon a kitten on the street like that..
If I had my way, all kitten-abandoners/abusers would be sent to the electric chair!
Anywa, your little kitten is the most gorgeous thing ever! What an angel!!
it must be ssooo cudly i bet it would win first prize in a cat competion i’v got 4 of them but probobaly not as flufy as this one
you so cudly little kitten (kittens are the best)
What a sweet baby and bless you for rescuing this little angel.
I just can’t comprehend how people can do something like abandon a tiny kitten to a street! Grrrr. But this little thing is so cute. She will return your love many times over.
Just look at the little roly-poly tummy!
What a sweet little orange baby!
I could NEVER abandon something that adorable and innocent. Look at that teeny orange sweetie!
I really like your kittens. They are sooooooooooo cute.
I do not understand the cold hearted cruelty of some people. There are many options to choose from if you don’t want the animal you have.
Thank goodness you found the kitten and took it in. You’ll receive many years of love and gratitude from him or her.
I feel sad when people abandon kittens, my wee baby was left on a building site in a set of drawers, only found when a builder removed the drawers before the cabinet was smashed up!!! how cruel people can be.
anyway… happier note… cute blonde fuzz

Hey, that’s clever!
That was good, Fred!
Whoops! I mean “FFrreedd”—-

Oh you are indeed a Lucky kitten, little boy! Take good care of your Mommy with lots of purrs and cuddles.
How could anyone abandon this little cutie, let alone any cat. I wish people would take better care of their pets and take responsibility. Good job in rescuing this precious little kitty!

I would love to be this little guys Meow-mee
He looks so proud to have caught the Beanie Baby! Too Cute!

jplantgirl–we would like to meet Gus. Have you been asked, yet, to send a picture to Kat’s Cats or Pet du Jour?
Hateful, cruel people to leave helpless creatures to fend for themselves (usually to die)! Lucky kitty, indeed!
Looks like you are teaching him to do laundry as well!
Your mommy is a very special lady who deserves the best in life.
Can I rub your (ample) belly?
Lucky, you are so adorable!
I’m so glad your mommy rescued you.
I know that you will reward her with all the love you can give.

Ffrreedd - love your comment!
Waw! That is one *schweet* baby.

Aww. Poor little critter. Your beautiful (and lucky too).
Such a sweet little love. How anyone could do something so evil and devious is just beyond me. You have a wonderful mommy, lucky!
I can practically hear the high squeaky little noise he must be making.
what a cute baby.
AAAAWWWWW!!!!
What a cute and mighty “hunter”.
Good job for taking the little guy in, but with cuteness like that, how could you not????
Your mommy is very crazy for thinking that you actually talk and call the human taking care of you “mommy”.
Well, James, you apparently do not speak a word of Feline, which, as every KittyMama knows, is as much telepathic as it is aural.

Good james here.
I’m the one with the urge to gobble cute kitties, metaphorically of course.
Kittenmaster needs to allow nick registration to avoid this sort of thing.
Dee, Ya know…I’m just realizing there must be two James. Don’t know why I didn’t think about that fact earlier!
Lucky you are adorable!

What a cutie pie. When society can not respect human life, they sure will not care for all of GOD’s creatures.
