Hehe. Tyson looks to be a handful for sure. You can see it all over his face. Troublemaker to the core. :-) I like it when kitties jump on you and fall asleep. Usually do it when they are facing you so you can see their sleepy faces. :-)

Brandi—that is so funny. My 8 month old kitten did the same thing—-I left a brand new roll of paper towels on the kitchen counter (too lazy to put in the dispenser) and when I came home she had ripped it to shreds all over the dining room floor—it looked like it had been snowing! And, she was doing that weird bicycle thing to the remaining few on the roll!I thought cats were supposed to be less destructive than dogs!

KittyKat Friends,

I used to keep catnip in a lidded ceramic jar on my china buffet and one night when the X and I came home from work…we walked in and on the kitchen floor there was catnip EVERYWHERE… and I mean EVERYWHERE. My cat Muffins (I just know it was her -a very smart little she-devil) knocked the lid off of the container plopped “the stash” onto the floor…the funniest part, you could make out “rollover marks” in the catnip where she had just rolled and rolled and rolled…a very happy girl indeed!!! :-)

Emilyrose—-I think that long post Monday was made by Good James. According to the Kittenmaster, he’s from the UK, and in that post he spelled realize with an “s” instead of a “z”—a notable difference between Brits and Americans. I just think he got carried away with his story. I REALLY wish Good James would preface his posts with which James he was!

Comment by emilyrose

Dee…I DID notice the anglo version of “realize”, I’ve been an Anglophile from ages past, one of my best friends is from Kent, and I have a book called “Britishisms”. Between Sharon, the book, Travelling to Britain and writing the Embassy in regards to immigrating as an expatriot, I truly apologise to James, as I LOVE the English and wish I were one! James from the UK shouldn’t have to explain or prove where he’s from, but on a Bad Day, as I’ve been havng Today, to see this ongoing debate hashing out again is taxing to the one nerve I have left. It is distracting from the DAILY KITTEN, TYSON, who SHOULD be the center of attention! He is a beautiful kitten and looks like he’s destined to be a “mushmoggie” when grown. Again, my apologies to all who took offense to my comment, especially British James and The Kittenmaster.

Get ready for the tear-jerker of the day. I’m sure a lot of you have read this before, but maybe it will be new to the younger visitors.

*The Rainbow Bridge*
(author unknown)

Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies, one who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends where they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone who was very special to them, someone they had to leave behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The eyes are bright and intent, the eager little body begins to quiver all over! Suddenly that lucky one breaks away from the group, and flies over the green grass, little legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands once again caress that beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together. . . .

Dee that was a great story. I was wondering how to get a copy of it. I’ve heard ya’ll talking on here about men who loves cats. I was married for 23 yrs & our cat population ranged from two to I think the highest was 10. Not including our two dogs. After all those years with her I think I miss the animals more than her. It was nothing for us to take in strays & place them in homes, which included putting them on airplanes & flying them to their new owners. Unfortunately where I live now I’m not allowed to have animals. But that’s another story. One of my things I do in life is talk to people at bad points in their lives & help them move on. I thought that story would be a great one to add to my collection to ease people’s pain.

Chester—that was very moving. And, yes, it’s me who starts up the conversations of men who love animals almost always make better boyfriends/husbands. And what you just posted is further proof. But, I think that’s ESPECIALLY true with men who love cats—-I think it’s because cats can be complex, just like a lot of women! Did you read the article I posted a few days ago—”A Dog Man Gets a Cat?” Great story.

Chester it was so good to see a man talk about animals like that, because I also think a man that loves animals makes a better husband or boyfriend. I am so sorry that you can’t have at least one animal where you are. I have had an animal in my life throughout my whole life, and I am up there, and I wonder if I could live without one. Actually, I was thinking about that this morning. Anyway, you at least see all the cuties on this site and some of the others listed here.

I want to thank you too, Chester, for your kindness and honesty with humans and animals. Perhaps where you are living you might be able to have smaller animals or a parakeet? I can even vouch for the quality of companionship from a betta fish (”Siamese fighting fish”). These little guys have so much personality! Mine follows me in his bowl around the living room and acts really happy to see me. I’ve had cats and bunnies, too. I’ve gotten much joy from my little bettas.

Also, as for men and animals–you only have to browse on a Singles website to see how many men advertise themselves as “loves animals.” But that’s for another reason…

Kim1 The place is called The Victory Junction gang. It was started by Kyle Petty in memory of his late son Adam who was killed while testing his car. It receives a lot of support from all the racers & other sources involved in racing. So for non racing fans, the drivers do a lot more than drive around in circles. Professional athletes give a lot back to their communities than the average person knows. Nascar has the reputation for being the easiest group of stars to acquire autographs from. I’m a fan & have been in a racing family for years. But not a fanatic like some. I spend my days helping people in much different ways. I have been involved in childrens charities for years & even founded some. So the next time you hear someone say something about cry baby athletes go on the web & lookup their personal page & you might be amazed at what you find. I look forward to my Daily Kitten & miss not being allowed to have one of my own.

Hi Chester! I know that atheletes give a lot of time and to charities. I’ve just known NASCAR to be the most fan friendly. I am related, distantly, to a race car driver. OK, sorry if I get this wrong. His name is Darryl Gwynn. My Uncle is a huge fan and actually got to spend time with him. But I still give my husband a hard time, jokingly, about being into NASCAR. Like I said, I’m so in awe of what they do. I have a 6yr old son with Spina Bifida and so finding things out there for him can be hard. When I read about the Victory Junction Gang, I was so excited. We live in Arkansas and so the camp is a little far for us. He is going to his first camp this year in Little Rock. They follow a lot of the same premis as VJG.
I’m glad you commented on this site!

At least that is what I have to do when I am any of the other cat or dog web sites when making comments.

I am a NASCAR fan and I know a lot of the drivers have their own charity that they are interested in. Many of them support Victory Junction along with their other charity. I will have to check out that calendar that was mentioned. Really a good cause that it goes to.

Well, Little Tyson, have to say you are a real cutie. I think that expressive look says, “do you really have to pose me this way?” “It is a little embarrising?” I am sorry, but I don’t think you look like Sylvester of the tweety bird fame at all.

Here’s the other NASCAR fan checking in!! Ryan Newman and his wife also support numerous (mostly dog related) charities, as do many other drivers. Last year, during a loooong rain delay, the pit reporters started going into the drivers’ motor coaches, and meeting all the dogs!! I usually go find something else to do during a delay–I can only stomach so many driver interviews in one session! This one I watched all the way through.

Kyle and Pattie Petty’s Victory Junction is affiliated with Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang Camps. The Pettys, the other drivers and a lot of NASCAR’s sponsors have done an incredible job with the Camp, and I am very proud to be a contributor as well.

KIM, if your man decides to take “the boys” to Talledaga, I’d be glad to carry the coolers and the scanners!!

DEE-you’ll have to get in line for Biffle–there is his long time girlfriend, and there are lots of us out here as well wishing and hoping.

I agree with you Kittenmaster, everyone should just ignore rude comments. Making comments on them just makes them do it more. I know you will remove the nasty ones though, especially against these sweet little kittens that adorn your web site. Take care and God Bless Kittenmaster.

RE: Men who love cats…My husband adores kitties! He is in the hospital right now and has told all the nurses that he must get home to his feline friends (never mind his wife and son)!!! When the doctor told him he was allergic to cats, he decided to have the painful shots so he could continue to live with our twelve darlings!!! Prayers for Jake and Amber…

Looks a bit like my Puddy Tat! (aka “Missy Meow-Meow” and “Little Miss Pantaloons” or “CAT!!!”). Puddy doesn’t like to be held that way, if you please. Soon to be disgruntled pussycat! ;)
